The gentlemen that own this place (Bryan and Latham) go over the top to help with any issues or questions. The July floods wreaked havoc down in our little marina, and these guys were working for over 30 straight hours, ensuring the safety of the boats and campers on the property. Our gazebo was blown into the water, and they pulled it out for us. We happened to have our boat in Cleveland when the marina flooded, and they called us to let us know about the flood, and find out when our boat was coming back. Amenities include a small pool and a nice pavilion. The marina hosts many events during the season. We have attended two island runs to Kelleys Island/Put-In-Bay. They hosted a season kick off party, and a recent steak fry, among other parties. Multiple fishing runs, golf runs, and an annual Halloween party. They have boat service on site, along with winter pull-out and storage. The folks that have campers and boats here have so far been just so very friendly. This is definitely NOT a yacht club. No hoity toity folks or attitudes here. In fact, I was so impressed with the folks at the kick-off party in the spring. They all got together to donate funds to a family that have been members for a while that experienced a personal tragedy this past year. Not a dry eye was found in that pavilion when Latham handed that couple a large wad of cash from their friends at the marina. Very family friendly place, great service, and a place I look forward to seeing every week. Just a lot of fun.

Guests have access to the large and beautiful Vermilion Lagoons Beach -- for some fun in the sun. Downtown Vermilion has become a popular tourist attraction, with local shops and highly rated restaurants. It is a short walk away. On the way back, be sure to stop at Romp's Dairy Dock for some of the best soft-serve cones, sundaes, and flurries in Ohio. You won't be disappointed!

VYC is one of the oldest clubs in the area, I think its even pushing 80! Thankfully, it still looks great. The clubhouse is beautifully maintained and is a gorgeous event space. Some important things to note: there's no private pool or private restaurant at VYC, like most local area clubs. VYC is all about the quiet atmosphere, and its better that way. The indoor/outdoor seating areas of the clubhouse are great places to read, have a glass of wine and just enjoy the boats on the channel. VYC remains untouched by rowdy guests and excessive noise, which is a gem in itself. VYC embraces the vintage Commodore classiness of old-school Yacht Clubs. For guest docking, you can spend time at the VYC if your vessel is under 80 feet drawing 10 feet or less. Guests can have dock spots on the river wall or in temporarily vacant slips. If you're not a member, but looking for a charming town to dock and visit, definitely keep VYC on your shortlist!

In addition to dockage, they have a swimming pool, tennis court, on-site putt-putt course, large picnic area and ice cream shop. If it's a bad boating day, there are more then enough activities to keep kids occupied. Romp's itself is located on the Vermilion River, just minutes onto the lake. The location is perfect, and the cruise out of the marina is actually quite enjoyable--lots of good people and boat watching! The marina is also just a short walk/drive to beautiful downtown Vermilion, and to the nearby beach. If you're a hardcore boater, you'll be so happy to know that Romp's cares about every one of their members. They know everyone by name and boat, and are always super fast and communicative if an issue arises, or if they are assisting you with repairs. The owners can also be seen constantly zipping around this large property on their golf cart... don't be shy to say hello!

Tom and Val were right next to us and made sure we had everything we needed, even offered a vehicle if we needed something out of walking distant and Tom wasn't the only one to offer! Everything we needed, including a marina store, was within walking distance so we were all set! Kayaking and a putt putt place was close by so there was plenty to do and the Lagoons and beaches were beautiful. David and several other members invited us to planned and spontaneous events throughout the weekend! We always felt welcomed but never pressured to participate. The clubhouse was so comfortable and the bathrooms/showers were nicer then my home!!! 6 private bathrooms with showers and one without a shower all spotless throughout our stay with plenty of hot water!! Don't let the name fool you- sailboats are very welcomed here! We will definitely be back!

Awesome sunset view…read more They have a marina where you can seasonal dock or just put your boat in for the day. There is a restaurant that is on the water. Small beach area. Most of the areas you have to be a member to access but you can eat at the restaurant even if you are not a member. They also have a great view of the sunset.

They are nice people, but have no clue how to get things done right. I made the mistake of purchasing a new boat from Beaver Park marina. I had to take the boat back 10 times for repairs and most of the repairs were for the same issues. Some components on the boat never worked and still do not work. They said the components are just cheaply made and they couldn't do anything about it. However, when purchasing the boat, they insisted that the boat was a great buy with solid features and components. It is sad they are still in business and I feel for anyone who falls victim to them for service or buying a boat. Just note when you do buy from them you are on your own and there will be no support from Beaver Park. STAY AWAY, HORRIBLE.
