If you've ever boated or just hung out near Vermilion, you've almost always seen the Vermilion Boat Club. Nestled right near Chez Francois, the delicious waterfront French restaurant, VBC sits right on the channel while en route to Lake Erie. Of all the clubs in a short distance, VBC definitely has the biggest social feel. Because of this, the pool can get overcrowded REALLY fast. But there's no shortage of other activities - VBC has some wonderful programming. Regattas, sail camps, swim lessons, live music, Kentucky derby parties... it all happens here. I love their private dining, where they serve dinner on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, as well as a gourmet chef's selection on Fridays. VBC has a smaller number of slips, but also has guest docking available. Their ideal location is right amongst the busy channel that connects all the clubs--so it's the total ideal place to sit at their dockside pub on the river and watch the boats go by. In addition to dockage, they have a swimming pool, tennis court, on-site putt-putt course, large picnic area and ice cream shop. If it's a bad boating day, there are more then enough activities to keep kids occupied. Romp's itself is located on the Vermilion River, just minutes onto the lake. The location is perfect, and the cruise out of the marina is actually quite enjoyable--lots of good people and boat watching! The marina is also just a short walk/drive to beautiful downtown Vermilion, and to the nearby beach. If you're a hardcore boater, you'll be so happy to know that Romp's cares about every one of their members. They know everyone by name and boat, and are always super fast and communicative if an issue arises, or if they are assisting you with repairs. The owners can also be seen constantly zipping around this large property on their golf cart... don't be shy to say hello!

Hunter contacted me within a few days of making a deposit and kept in constant contact while waiting out the weather and my work schedule. We met at the selected time and place and after some brief conversation we headed to the river. River fishing is very new to me. We talked how how to wade safely especially on the slippery and muddy conditions and how to safely wade unfamiliar water. We got started by Hunter evaluating my rig then watched my casting offering tips and suggestions throughout. We discussed different methods from streamers to nymphing as well as how to fish riffles or not. All in all I feel I got a tremendous amount of info from an experienced angler that I could ask questions as they came up and not just a YouTube video. The best advice though was to get out and do it! I felt as if I was fishing with my brother! Thanks Hunter!

Just came back from NYC. Everything was perfect! Our bus had a flat on our last day as we were…read morefinishing breakfast which delayed coming home later but the hotel and our tour guide were very professional with 55 or more people. We were lucky we didn't get stuck in Times Square Saturday night with the flat tire, we'd probably still be there! Our driver Al was the BEST! You should see the way he drove in Manhattan with all the traffic and pedestrians. He could maneuver our coach down a one way street between a parked catering truck and a big box truck! Russ our tour guide was fabulous as well. Very personable, informative and all around fun. Once I recover from this trip I'm going to look up another destination with this duo. They were on time and were able to provide us with a large 55 passenger bus which was great to transfer a lot of people at once. In the world of wedding where anytime you put the word wedding in it the price increases by 3x, Great day was really well priced compared to any other transportation company I spoke with. They were quick to respond and flexible to changes of location as wedding plans evolved. My friends also used them and had a good experience as well. Only 1 negative was at the end of the night going back to the hotel the radio was not working so that kinda put a damper on things but lucky in today's age we have phones and played music on our phones to help keep the party rolling.
