We took our order to-go as my guest and I will not eat fast food unless we have to, lol. Atmosphere - Clean interior. Drive thru available. Men's restrooms could use some love, see pictures. If I have to eat fast food there are only two places I like to, and this is one of them. Their crinkle cut fries are the perfect blend of crunch and soft, and great when they're hot. The service has been hit and miss, especially in the drive through. They have new Birria tacos that are pretty good for fast food and my favorite taco from them. Sadly fast food has gotten too expensive, and I'd rather spend a little more eat at a restaurant instead if I'm spending more than $15 on a fast food meal. Still, it's a great fast food place and my 4-stars is based on a scale that holds fast food in their own category compared to restaurants. They could have earned 5-stars with cleaner tables and a warmer dining room, it was ice cold. read more

Had a coupon and as I pulled up to the speaker in the drive through lane I ordered a 9 dollar coupon order. The person said it had changed to 10 dollar coupon. The coupon had a 9 dollar price on it I said and the girl said it was now 10 dollars. I said ok but was not pleased that they put out coupons and don't honor the price on the coupon. I just got the coupon flyer just this week. I then proceeded to the window and she gave-me my order and I gave her my card. When she handed it back to me she had charged my card $10.50 plus tax for a total of 11.37 I asked why it was 10.50 when the coupon speed had 9 dollars and then she changed it to 10 dollars and changed it again to 10.50. They would not honor the price on the coupon. Their excuse was that their boss said to bad that was the price. My warning to anyone who uses coupon with this store beware they have poor business ethics and they were very unprofessional. Plus I was disappointed with the quality of their food, it was terrible. This Del Taco is pretty good as far as Del Tacos go. The workers here always seem to be in a good mood and are approachable (unfortunately that seems to be rare nowadays). Food is always hot and comes out fast. Tip: try the honey chipotle bbq brisket! I got the fries and it was so good! Hope this item will stick around... the brisket was perfectly salty, and its sauce was slightly smokey, and deliciously sweet-- can't wait to try it in a burrito or quesadilla! So, I have been here a couple times since the disaster meal I've had previously. My family wanted Del Taco so I went. Went through the drive through which was pretty fast. Put in my order and she read it back correctly. Got the food home and my Chicken Cali bacon burrito was chicken and steak! I don't eat red meat so this $7 burrito was a waste. Ended up being crappy service again. The family enjoyed their meals. I did order the loaded fries and substituted the chicken for the beef correctly. It was pretty good. I can't comment on the dining room because I didn't eat in. It kinda sucks looking forward to a meal and then not getting to enjoy it. I very rarely go out for fast food, but when I do, Del Taco is one of my favorites from my youth. I do like their tacos. Food is consistent and this is one of the food chains with a better percentage on getting your order fast and more importantly, accurate. Luckily, on a week night, walk in, it wasn't too crowded. I've seen the drive thru pretty full. Food is pretty inexpensive. Very convenient in the Walmart Shopping center in South Reno, off of Damonte. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat, food was OK. . . But upon getting home I noticed when I pulled out my wallet they shorted me $2.00 on my change, called them and they were less than accommodating. Young lady said that they don't take big bills, yet the young man did (and told her he had done this) and pulled additional change from another register. The only time I had Del Taco was at church. Seriously, this church I went to a few times had a table piled high with the breakfast tacos and I never went to the actual restaurant because I thought Del Taco was just ok. I'm not a huge fast food person but one day a few weeks ago my neighbors said they were going to Del Taco to get a bunch of chicken tacos (apparently they're a thing). I had no idea they were so popular. We got a variety and added some spicy chicken tacos in the order too. Wow, okay, I had no idea what I was missing out on. First of all, I like the spicy crunchy chicken taco way better than the original and might I add how soft and fresh the tortillas are. I also like the variety of hot sauces the give you if you ask for a handful of mixed packets. They are more flavorful and spicier than Taco Bell's hot sauce packets. So that happened. Then, one night on my way home I was really craving another taco. I went through the drive-thru, this felt so foreign to me because I never go through drive-thru fast restaurants. After looking at the menu, I saw something called the fresh avocado burrito and it caught my eye, yes please! Plus a spicy chicken taco. Wow wow wow. Since then, I can't believe what a better burrito this is than Chipotle and Qdoba, what?! It's big, it's filling, it's tasty, plus it has fresh slices of avocado, all for under $6! THEY ARE NOT OPEN THE HOURS POSTED ON THEIR BUILDING!!! They seriously need an open/closed sign because they are clearly not open the hours posted on the building or online. I've gone after work twice now around 10:30pm and lights are on, but no one is clearly there working. These people are super nice every single time I come here which is more than often. I'm here twice a week at least. They are very clean people always cleaning the restrooms and sanitizing the work area. I overheard one staff member reminding the other to remove garbage among other things. I don't know about everyone else's experience but most of these Reno fast food restaurants are filthy. read more

There is nothing better than Mexican fast food when you are in a hurry. We buy here and take it home since we live close. I am giving them 3 stars for service and location. But when I compare this Del Taco with the one up in Northwest Reno, it is not the same. I find that the food is skimpy. Less taco meat, less meat in the burritos and less cheese. I have been going here for years since I live in South Reno but I have tried others ones in town when I am away from home. I have always noticed the cut backs on quality and quantity. This is not a good way to make profit as some customers won't come back. If we can, we try to avoid this spot and eat at another one. Sat for nearly 10 minutes in Drive Thru before ordering. Give my order at the box, then wait another 10. I get to the window and the girl says, "You had the 2 Del Taco Fiesta Packs correct?" I confirm that was my order. She then tells me that they weren't able to enter it in the computer so it couldn't be made. I clarify that I had just sat nearly 20 minutes in their drive thru for them to not make or attempt to make my order because it couldn't be entered in the computer. She confirmed. She didn't say anything about they're making it right now, it'll will just be a few minutes longer, sorry, etc. Just, your order's not. Do NOT go here unless you can go inside. We can here for dinner before going grocery shopping (as everyone knows you spend more at the store on a hungry empty stomach). I had a coupon from the mail, and my husband and I decided upon something on the coupons. It was for 2 wet burritos, which neither of us had had here before. We got the pork ones. They were served with green sauce and rice and beans and chips. It far exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back for these again. Also our 2 kids devoured the soft beef tacos. I also like the Del beef burritos for something quick and simple. Super good with the hot sauce. And some famous del taco fries. I say famous, because they are sooo good. Food Appetizer - none Main Course - I ordered a #3 combo, signs everywhere saying the numbers changed. So I do not know what it was before. I normally order the macho combo burrito, but wanted something lighter. The chicken burrito was good until I found a small bone in it. It is not like the local Del Taco knew it was there. They probably got a bag of chicken from their distributor. So I did not bother the staff with the problem, chicken, it happens. But the best thing about the meal is the crinkle fries. I am so hooked on those fries. Dessert - Lunch typically I do not and I am not feeling it. Service - A little slow today, for a late lunch they were busy.
