Stopped in for lunch driving back down to the Bay Area from Southern Oregon. It's been many years since we thought to stop in for some Del Taco. And you know what? This was not bad at all! I tried a regular beef taco, a shrimp taco and a fried fish taco. The regular taco tasted great, was filled up nicely and not stingy like Taco Bell tacos are. The shrimp and fish tacos were good, but I would not call them super fresh, maybe middle of the road, definitely not bad. I don't typically eat fast food but we were heading home after a long day of MTB and thought Del Taco would be a safe place to grab a bite. What a huge mistake! I was so hopeful when we pulled up in the drive-thru and saw they were offering beyond meat avocado tacos. The most horrible looking brown avocados. Why on earth would you even consider serving that to someone. The nacho chips must have been stale or had been sitting under a heat lap too long. I wish I knew the name of the great employee who took and prepared our order as he clearly cared about doing a great job. The food was prepared well and it was great experience all around. Let me preface this by stating that there's only been 2 times in my 41 years of existence where I've received such appalling customer service that I actually looked up the corporate headquarters number to make an official complaint, and this was one of those times! I had never been to a Del Taco before this location. I went there once before they started carrying beyond meat products, and the experience was a normal drive-through experience. Went there a week after they started carrying beyond meat products to try it out and they were completely out of every beyond meat item they sold, in just one week. OK...decided to give them a few weeks to restock so I could try it again. It's the only Del Taco under a 40 minutes from me. Went there at night, pulled up through the drive-through... no lights. No lights behind the menu so I could actually see what I wanted to order and no light with the overhead through the drive-through that is supposed to be lit so we don't crash into the fence. Absolutely no way to see the menu! So I pull up and wait a moment for someone to greet me so I can inform them they need to turn a light on somewhere so people can see the menu. I get "order when you're ready" for which I laugh and say" I would love to! Please turn on at the light so I can actually see the menu".. Crickets... I sit there for about 60 seconds waiting for someone to acknowledge me again and she asks "what would you like?" for which I respond..." as I said, you guys don't have any light so anyone can see the menu. Can you please turn it on so I can place my order?". ..crickets again...then I say" hello!?" And the twerps response is, in a teenager annoyed with their parents type of tone "ORDER WHEN YOU'RE READY!" I could feel the teenyboppers eyes rolling, as if her parents just told she she's grounded and cannot go to Billy's party afterall. So, since the twit didn't bother to actually listen to words I was saying, I decided to pull up and make them hand me a menu or wait for me to look it up on my phone, not knowing there were 3 cars in front of me because they couldn't be seen due to the lack of lights! I sat there for 5 minutes and not one car moved. Clearly this little girl was in charge of the drive-through and didn't know what the hell she was doing. I actually backed out from the awkward drive-through in object blackness and pulled around the corner and called the headquarters to file my official complaint and that's that! Never again. We are a retired couple on a fixed income so even just getting a burger once in a while is a treat for us these days. I love Del Taco's food but the one in Red Bluff has ruined too many of our lunches :(( We always use the drive-thru. When the fries are fresh they are great. When I ask for well done fries they say ok but never do it. Too many times they have been cold and limp. Then they hide the cold fries on the bottom of the carne asada fries. We're on to your dirty tricks. Today's specific problems: they were out of coke zero and when we got to the window they said no diet coke either. No other diet sodas. I said ok, no drinks but the woman said they'd already charged us, shrugged and walked away so we had to accept regular coke :( The packs of sauce were sticky with sauce on the outside. No fork. I really don't get Red Bluff. The people here have a fixation with Taco Bell fake ass mexican food, which thanks to Pepsi buying them out in the 80s, is your typical American Corporate produced garbage. Regardless, this town is all backwards and Del Taco has always been my go to for fast food. I would place the French fries neck and neck with McDonalds fries. Furthermore, Del Taco makes their beans and doesn't get them from bags of freeze dried processed beans. You can taste the difference and they're burritos and tacos have better ingredients then the competition. As far as a hamburger, the Double Del Cheeseburger is my choice if there isn't an In N Out nearby to satisfy my hamburger needs. There is also Mr. Pibb and I love that. With all that being said, my only disappointment is that this Red Bluff location isn't open 24 hours. It is not open til 9am. Such a bummer. read more

Very poor packaging of the prepared food. I ordered chicken soft tacos and a chili cheese fry. The tacos were very messy and a few even had more lettuce and cheese stuck to the outside of the shell. I unwrapped each one and the condiments just fell out, and not due to being overstuffed either. The portions were not equal for each taco either. For the fry, all the chili was put on one side of the box. Much so that it leaked through the box and caused the bottom the bag to collapse. Sadly, this is a common occurrence at this location. This is one of most disappointing Del Tacos I have ever visited. The drive thru is must more important than the customer that walks in to the establishment. The food is inconsistently made from taco to taco. Nachos looked nothing like the picture shown on the menu. Half my food sat on the counter while they made other people's smaller orders. It sat getting cold for 5 minutes! Went back up to order dessert and after being asked if I and the people in front of me were ready to order more than 2 times as we responded yes each time I had to leave because I wasn't waiting for a couple of more minutes to order and then wait 5 minutes for 2 items. Would I return? Most likely not. I eat at Del Taco in Sacramento at least once a day. This is no joke or typo. read more

I like Del Taco. Probably much more than I should. This one is a welcome addition to the Red Bluff area. They serve full menu the whole day, so I can have my classic tacos for breakfast before going on a long hike. The combos come with fries, which are way too tasty with the tacos. My only dislike of Del Taco's in general is that their tea is always too tanic for me, and the Diet Coke tastes off from other chains. If not for that, they'd have a 5 star rating. read more

Only went there cause driving up I5 and they serve Beyond Beef products. Ordered two Beyond Beef epic burritos and a large fry. Normally it takes 5 minutes for the product to cook. Drove up paid $16 and change. They two ladies were talking about one was leaving already in English. They handed us out food due to being so quick I ask for a receipt. The lady now says "no speak English, no understand." Now we now why open the burritos and maybe enough "meat" for a taco mostly French fries in the burrito. Tortillas were totally crunchy around the edge, just snapped apart. Needless to say we trashed the full order. Was not going back in to complain and have the food spit it. Man, never having been here before, I ordered 3 classics Taco's and was really impressed! They were great! I hate to admit, they were maybe the BEST tacos I have ever had! They were crispy shells, with ground beef and plenty of lettuce and cheese (tagged "double beef & cheese)! And their "hot" sauce, was actually hot! It was really good, too...(as opposed to Taco Bell). The tacos were loaded to the hilt, and the shells were *light* and not heavy... The service was great, the employees VERY nice, everything was actually very excellent. Taco Bell would have served maybe 1/3 the amount of meat, cheese & lettuce. What can I say...
