This is my favorite fast food Mexican restaurant there is. I adore their bean and cheese burritos (value & 1/2 lb.)!! Living about 7 miles from here, it's not the most convenient place to go to. However, I know the food is going to be worth the trek. All locations that I've visited (Gresham, Hillsboro, Vancouver, Bend & a couple CA locations) have all been top notch!! read more

I'm a big fan of their food, but they seem to be chronically understaffed and the drive-thru line takes forever. This used to be my go to for breakfast and lunch buuuuuut they "open" at 7....... never are they open before 710.... which seems really confusing and if you go there in the am they say their fryer isn't heated up. Well if all of you showed up to work on time or early to turn them on you might have more business . So I just go to jack in the box. They're always open and super nice no matter what time of day Update: well... I've been here almost everyday in between 7-715 .... still not open. After eating Del Taco it made me never want Taco Bell again! Not only is everything cheaper, but the quality and taste is better, plus none of that pesky "taco hell" you'll experience other places. Every time I go I get either the fish tacos or the Del Cheeseburger. The fish tacos come in corn tortillas wrapped in tin foil and a lime. I've been sort of fixated on trying different tacos lately, so this is my second review in the past few days of a fast food taco place. Today, I went to the Del Taco location in Gresham. I had a couple of grilled chicken soft tacos and a fish taco. The chicken tacos were tasty. They say that their grilled chicken is marinated first. Well, whatever it's marinated in adds something good to the flavor. The fish taco was made with fried fish and it was OK, just like most other fish tacos. I prefer grilled fish and I ALWAYS wish that taco places would also have grilled fish in addition to fried fish, but it seems like most of them don't. Overall, I like Del Taco. Their food is pretty good and it's cheap, so it's a very good value. I just wish they had locations in Portland because Gresham is quite a distance for me to go. If they were closer, I'd go there a lot. read more

This place has really gone down hill. It's over-priced and you get nothing. I hadn't gone here for awhile due to their bad customer service and ripoff on portions. But I decided to try it again. Last time I visited this location they gave me tacos and rollers with nearly nothing in them. It was such embarrassing portions that I called to complain. The manager explained that they were being reviewed and needed to be careful about the portion sizes- but it was literally a tortilla that I was biting into. I actually went on a trip a few months back where I stopped at other Del Tacos on the way, and they were great! The portion sizes were reasonable for the price. They weren't ripping you off. Well, I just went there again tonight, and I'll never go back. First off they mess up my order. Then I drive all the way back and they request the screwed up order back (to be expected but it was still their fault) then they re-do my order. The already tiny tacos for 2.50 are half-filled with contents. These shells are small to begin with, but to not even just fill a tiny little shell? Instead it was mostly filled with green. Probably 3 little chicken pieces. I know it sounds silly to write a review about tacos... But their customer-service skills are embarrassing. And the food you get for the price you pay is laughable. There were other occasions in the distant past where the employees were straight-up rude. Needless to say, I won't be going back. I only wish there was another location nearby. I agree with most of the yelpers on this one. I thought "oh yeah just another fast food Taco Bell clone". Not so! Trust me, It depends on what you order here though. Stay away from the obvious . It's predictable Mexican (American) fast food. But where this place excels is in their beer battered fish, (Alaskan not Tilapia), carne asada (steak), and carnitas (pork) tacos. They consist of two soft corn tortillas, pico de guillo (chopped tomato, onion and cilantro), creama, cabbage, lime wedge and meat served wrapped in foil. It's exactly like I got in Ensenada. The carne asada even has guacamole on it. Now if they just had real salsa instead of those awful packets. Only 2 bucks and change each, and $1.29 for the beer battered fish on Fridays. I got adventurous one day and tried the cheeseburger. It was ok. I went in today wanting a steak burrito. I had ordered it and specifically asked for the chicken avocado burrito SUB steak as I do not like chicken at all with being pregnant. On the drive thru screen it says "no chicken add steak +.30 charge" when I got home I realized it was chicken.. called right away and the lady was not very nice. Said "I'll write your name down" didn't say yeah come in get a new burrito or come in and get your money back. Nothing. So we drive back to del taco, with the burrito, not eaten, and ask for our money back. The lady at the window calls the manager and comes back and says the manager told us we can't have our money back, I can have a burrito but if I want my money then sorry.. awful customer service. DO NOT EAT HERE. Service and cleanliness are terrible. You can get sick. I went through the drive-through and could barely hear what the worker was saying. She sounded completely disinterested in serving. I ordered and got up to the window not to be greeted by to be muttered my total. The emotionless, apathetic young woman apparently has no clue about customer service. I got my food with no receipt and went and parked to check my order, because the experience was so off. Let me list the rest of the issues: - the most expensive item was missing - my green burrito wasn't wrapped, and the bottom had fallen out and fell through the paper which had a hole in it. - I had a large order, and got only 3 napkins. - I went inside to address the issue, and the apathetic woman stared at me without asking what was going on. - I noticed she had food service gloves on while she was taking orders. - I mentioned the issue with the green burrito, and the missing burrito, and with GLOVES STILL ON, she pressed the buttons on screen to find my order. - With THE SAME GLOVES ON she went and made the rest of my food. I was so upset I was speechless. - She muttered a sorry and got back to work, running the drive thru WITH THE GLOVES ON - getting home, my vegetarian burrito had chunks of meet stuck to the outside of it. - I just found something else to eat at home. This place easily exceeds the (very) low bar for fast food. But here is the real question: Would the food be as dank WITHOUT the inferno sauce?? Del Taco isn't as prevalent in the Portland area as it is in Southern California or Las Vegas. Was so pleased to have some comfort food amid the cool (cold for me) November weather. Lots of parking. Good, clean seating area. Friendly staff. Consistent food that tastes just like it does elsewhere (a good thing for Del Taco). read more

I've been coming here 3 times a week for a year or more. They messed up once by giving me chipotle sauce on my burrito. This time, they gave me carne asada instead of chicken. No worries, I take it back. The last time, the kid is telling me dirty jokes while I wait. This time, Olga tells me it "always happens with me" that they get my order wrong. I said no, just one other time, and she is arguing with me. She tells me I have to check each time to make sure my order is right and wants to know how I did not know sooner than 4 bites into my burrito, having the first two bites pretty much all tortilla. As soon as I learned it was not chicken, I brought it back. Not good enough for Olga! I have to check it. Like I am driving down the street and going to unroll a burrito? So once again this place has let me down. I love there food when its made properly. This time was the last straw. There customer service is horrible. They don't have anyone working except maybe 1 or 2 people. So its very slow. They don't actually listen when ordering so have to repeat and correct them multiple times. Then after sitting in a line that shouldn't take so long. After receiving my order I check the bag and half the order is missing after I paid for everything. They won't come to the door to talk to you, they won't answer the phone. By the time I sat in line even longer the second time. They try to make it up by giving me a free fry. A cold soggy fry that I can't stand anyway. That's not making up for anything. Kinda a slap in the face really. Then get home to eat our now cold food cause had to wait twice for there slow crappy customer service. The food is made like crap. How is a tortilla with 3 pieces of chicken a quesodilla absolutely no cheese? Isn't cheese the main ingredient in a quesodilla? And I ordered 3 of them all the same. Fries are all soggy cold and disgusting. Nacho was just chips with a pinch of toppings. Very irritated and still hungry seems how I only had tortillas for dinner. Think they need to answer there phones. They need to have the door open at least so people don't have to wait that long when there the ones making the mistakes. And guarantee they won't call me back when I left 2 messages. Hire more workers and make sure they actually work. And have a better system for when they make mistakes wich is every order. Shouldnt have to wait in the ridiculous line a second time for there mistakes. And making it up with a horrible soggy cold disgusting fry is just a joke. At least taco bell will give you a coupon for a free whatever you ordered for next time. My point is don't go to DEL TACO if your expecting it to be fast or accurate. I showed up 2 mornings in a row around 8 am and no service. The first day I sat in the drive through and despite seeing people inside no one came on the speaker or to the window to take my order. The 2nd day I decided I'd have better luck going inside to order. The store hours on the door clearly said it opens at 7 am yet the door was locked. Myself and another gentleman just left. I don't know what is going on with this place but someone in charge needs to step up thier game because that is not acceptable!! read more

We watched this restaurant being built and have been loyal customers ever since. Never set foot into Taco Bell again. This food is delicious and fresh ALL the time. People are always courteous, and you can't beat the price. We ate there last night...4 crispy tacos, 1 Macho Burrito, and 1 Macho Nacho...lots of food for only $9.94. That's a good deal. And they fish tacos? Sublime. From the first soft bite of the tortilla to the crispy fresh fish inside, and the lime squeezed over it? Fabulous...simple and fabulous. I recommend it highly. And no...I don't own it, don't know the owners...just love this place and appreciate it being in the community :) read more
