This is a good pit stop on the way to/from Vegas. Fairly clean restrooms and the food is pretty decent too (compared to other Del Tacos). I was most surprised with my fish taco. Okay, so Del Taco is usually just my late night stop for chicken soft tacos and 99 cent bean burritos with green sauce. In general, they get 3 stars for value and simple, unhealthy, but good tasting junk 24hrs a day. But this Del Taco.... WoWoWeeWow! So how does this Del Taco earn the phenomenal 5 star rating that is rarely deserved by fast food? By serving the BIGGEST portions EVER! And it's well put together too! So on the way to Vegas with 4 of my friends, we were hungry and stopped to eat here. Expecting the usual, we ordered what we normally would get... I went with 3 chicken soft tacos. My lady went with two chicken soft tacos with extra cheese and chili cheese fries. My boy R got the Macho Burrito (chicken) and a couple of chicken al carbon tacos. The other two got things i don't quite remember... HOLY SHIT. I can usually scarf down 3 chicken soft tacos NO PROBLEM. But what the hell, they literally put twice as much meat as normal in these things, and I was stuffed after two! I know they raised the price half a year ago and supposedly added 1/3 more meat, but at this location, I guess they mistook it for 3x more meat! And to top it off, my lady who asked for extra cheese got soo much cheese, it actually topped the quantity of meat. The chili cheese fries were absolutely smothered. And the macho burrito was bursting with filling, getting all over R's unfolded wrapper. And to top it all off, they had a clean bathroom despite being a stop on the way to and from Vegas! The name drew us in - Del Taco - meaning 'of taco'. The place was busy when we stopped around lunch time and we were hopeful it would be good for a quick bite on our way to the San Diego area. Upon ordering our food from a young man behind the counter, our hope for "good food" started diminishing. Several minutes after ordering, our food arrived at our table. A simple cheese quesadilla was very salty and seemingly soaked in grease. I ate just a bite or two of the one that came with my taco combo meal. The tacos were nondescript. Sadly, after eating at this place, we discovered another Mexican food restaurant just down the street that looked like it might be something along the lines of "authentic Mexican"; plus, they had a sign in their window that said they served "aguas frescas". It's not often that I crave junk food but when I do it usually is Del Taco. On one of my random drives to Vegas I needed something to eat and I stopped at the Del Taco go to get my bean and cheese fix. I noticed some differences here that are not present at other Del Taco's, such as getting your burritos in a box and most importantly the portions are way more and taste so much better! I thought this was just a fluke but after going a few more times I have come to the conclusion that this Del Taco is hands down the best in the West! People tend to think I am just being sarcastic but when they order they can see the difference. So yes folks come for a pit stop before Vegas and eat for cheap at the best Del Taco ever, but beware the portions are a bit more filling which I don't mind at all! read more

I got iced coffee and a grilled chicken burrito. Both tasted pretty good (actually better than I expected). Hot sauce conveniently available at each table too. So why the 2 stars? FLY INFESTATION. This del taco is an absolute oasis that indefinitely towers over the vast Mojave Desert. This places is where hangovers go to die .if it wasn't for this place I would've never survived my deathly hangover . I am on Team Del Taco in the Great Cheap Mexican-Themed Fast Food Wars of Our Times. Their food is better, cheaper, plus they have pretty amaze-balls fries. It also doesn't usually make me prefer a fiery death to experiencing my body digesting it. This Del Taco in particular has a nice grassy area for your 4-legged friends to pee and poop and sniff all the sniffs, a bathroom fit for your 2-legged friends to pee and poop and sniff all the sniffs (if they're into that sort of thing), and quick service. Stopped here while driving back from Las Vegas. A good place to get something to eat and freshen up on the long stretch of highway. I was impressed by the number of options- a little overwhelming for me-- but took the chance of getting the grilled chicken with avocado burrito. It was huge! The combo comes with a medium drink-- which is also giant, about 32 oz. You can ask for a small and it will be more than enough. I was impressed that the avocado in the burrito was actually fresh and a generous portion. This location is well staffed and most importantly clean! read more

Came here about 2 months ago for a quick breakfast. I really like Del Taco. This location needs a bit of work. Something must have been wrong with the AC/heater. It was cold. I informed the staff but they just shrugged their shoulders and ignored another customer and me. Place was a bit dirtier than other Del Tacos. Tables were not cleaned and bathroom was dirty. This Del Taco serves the same food as all other Del Tacos you've been to. For the longest time, it did not accept debit/credit cards or sexual advances. It only accepted US currency. When I went on 08/05/11, I forgot about that little nuance and presented my credit card. They then swiped it on a fancy new credit card machine. They now accept credit cards! Welcome to 1985. As for the food quality, it seemed as though the chicken was undercooked in the chicken soft taco. I did not die, so I believe it was okay. Normally I wouldn't write a review for a fast food restaurant but I had this the other night and damn, it was good. It didn't even taste like fast food. I got a quesadilla and 2 taco's meal and the Tacos were about half filled with meat which is way better than the scrawny crap that other Del Taco's give and it was over flowed with lettuce, cheese and tomato. If I was handed it and not told where it was from, I would have guessed it was from a small SD Mexican taco shop... The best kind of cheap Mexican food! I might have just been lucky because it was slow after the weekend rush to Vegas but it really hit the spot and needed a review. While I wouldn't normally review a Del Taco, I have to say that this is one of the best I have ever been to. I usually stop in Baker on my way home from Vegas to refuel and grab a bite. I think the people here take more pride in their work since the town depends on travelers passing through to survive. It certainly shows in the quality of the food and the courtesy of the service. This location only takes cash but there's an ATM inside that charges $2.50 to make a withdrawal. Not too bad compared to Vegas. read more

I eat at Del Taco often as it is my sons favorite place. I went to this one and if this was the norm for Del Taco, I wouldn't dine with them. The first situation is I went through the drive threw and had to tell the lady 3 times that I didn't want anything else. Then when I got to the window, she informed me that they do not accept Amex. I use Amex as Del Taco all the time. I paid using another card. Then after paying, they asked me to pay again. I showed my receipt and that I already paid. Then, when they handed me the food, it was in a tray that was for dine in. I am in the drive threw. They didn't offer a bad or anything. I am not sure about this location. I won't be back. read more

If your old enough and lucky enough to remember Naugles then it's safe to say you have seen it all.
