He even filled an extra pot hole for us for the delay. :) He supplied me with photos of the completed project and was professional throughout. !!! BE AWARE !!! Please be VERY CAREFUL in using this company's service as Frank Aragon has left…read moreour property in worse shape than when the project began. This is a review based on our experience with Frank and his company earlier this year. At first, Frank came across like he seem to know the 'lingo' of asphalt contracting. After vetting through other companies, we decided to go with Asphalt Paving Services but just as others mentioned here, Frank was very difficult to get in contact over the phone. It was after couple of voicemails and email exchanges later that we finally agreed on a contract and work began in late January. Unfortunately, we discovered (too late) that his promises were just words. Frank was incapable of fulfilling the project as contracted. Pictures speak louder than words and as you can see the poor work on the property sustained during this construction. The project was slated for 2 days with 1 day extra for 'drying' time. But the first day started with just Frank and another worker, then soon after Frank disappeared for hours, leaving one guy to do most of the work. We have a 50+ unit and scheduling all the resident parking to require many parts to coordinate - from LADOT, LAPD, and local council office - not to mention all the residents who had to park on the street. At the end of the 5th day, when it was clear that the parking lot was never going to be finished, Frank was asked to leave the property at around 10PM. On most nights, he kept working extremely late into the evening, even up until almost 11PM, even after we had asked him to stop working. We've asked numerous times for Frank to communicate with us about the timing of the project because we were scrambling to contact the LADOT, LAPD and the council's office for the extra days where we would have needed permit for the residents to park overnight. In short, this project became a nightmare for our management. Everything they did for this project of 20,000+ sq foot was done MANUALLY. There were no rollers on-site, his striper machine exploded and was not working, half the day trying to fix it. (SEE PHOTOS) When Frank over-purchased a mass quantity of asphalt on the second day, he failed to use it within the time when it was heated. It had hardened to the point where it was blocking the front part of our parking lot and Frank had two of the workers attempt to remove the mount manually for TWO DAYS! (SEE PHOTOS) After Frank's failed to complete our project and breach of contract in, we had to hire a different asphalt contractor on an URGENT Sunday call, to have the huge mound of the asphalt removed properly. To make matters worse, we found that he videotaped our property - without permission - to use as part of his advertising on Google. It seems Frank spent more time videotaping and talking about what to do rather than actually doing the work on-site. (SEE PHOTOS) [Frank Aragon: Please REMOVE any PHOTOS/VIDEOS you've POSTED ILLEGALLY of our property on Google and your website that you have it online still. You have not - and were not be given - any permission to post our property for the use of your advertisement. It is illegal to post any images or videos of private properties online.] --------------------------------------------------------- LOCATION: Asphalt Services is located in Van Nuys and covers other areas in Los Angeles. SERVICE: NOT RECOMMENDED. Difficult communication, multiple times his voicemail would max out, calls would not go through. Frank would leave the site and disappear for multiple hours at a time, leaving just one or two workers to cover a 20,000+ sq. ft parking lot. Frank would give us numerous excuses for why the project schedule is off, promises to pull through but failed to complete. PROS: Frank can sell ice to an Eskimo! CONS: Unfortunately the entire review describes that. PRICE: Price was reasonable and a factor in our decision to use his services.

On January 30, 2026, my neighbor and I hired Paramount Pavers to build a shared retaining wall. The…read moreexisting wall was 86 years old and clearly on the verge of collapse, so safety was a major concern for both households. We were understandably anxious about choosing the right contractor and ensuring the job was done correctly. After gathering multiple estimates, we selected Paramount Pavers because of their competitive pricing and, more importantly, their genuine commitment to quality workmanship. From the very beginning, it was clear that they took the project as seriously as we did. They followed all building codes meticulously and took extraordinary care to protect our existing property. This included safeguarding our beloved cherimoya tree, an air conditioning unit, and surrounding hardscape. Their attention to detail and respect for our space truly set them apart. It is rare to find contractors who combine excellent communication, reliability, and professionalism--but Paramount Pavers delivers on all three. They kept us informed throughout the entire process and consistently showed up as promised. Because of this outstanding experience, I confidently hired Paramount Pavers for two additional projects: a 19' x 12' Aluma-Wood patio cover and a solid steel fence shared with another neighbor. Each project reinforced my trust in their craftsmanship and expertise. With Paramount Pavers, you are only limited by your imagination--and perhaps your budget. They have set an exceptionally high standard, and they will always be my first choice for outdoor construction projects. Bernadine & Egbert Vactor View Park, CA

We received several bids, and while Beyond Remodeling was not the least expensive, the personal attention Dana provided immediately set the company apart. She took the time to sit down with my wife and me to understand our vision, budget, and concerns. While the other companies simply quoted what we requested, Dana offered thoughtful suggestions, alternative options, color schemes, and expert guidance before we ever signed an agreement. She truly brought our vision to life. The entire Beyond Remodeling team was wonderful. They communicated clearly, kept us informed, and walked us through every step of the process. Aside from a few unavoidable delays outside their control, the project remained on schedule. The stone masons and plaster crews were exceptional, and the quality of their work was a solid 10 out of 10. Dana had a previously scheduled vacation during the remodel, but she continued checking in with us by text. Yair, the owner, maintained a strong local presence and made sure everything continued moving forward smoothly in her absence. We cannot say enough good things about Dana, Yair, and the entire Beyond Remodeling team. We highly recommend them and already have Dana and Beyond Remodeling on speed dial for our future remodeling projects!

It turned out so well and…read moreworking with Eddie and his team was such a positive experience that even though it was almost a year ago they did the work, I just had to share. We got other bids on the project but none compared to the honest, straightforward communication we got with Eddie. We benefitted from his years of experience but also from his long-held contacts in the field. During the building process things came up like needing the footings for the posts of a pergola another contractor was going to build for us on top of the patio but he was out of the country at the time. Not a problem. Eddie had worked with him on previous projects and was able to get the footings and install them for us. Then we needed to make decisions regarding any electrical we wanted on and around the patio which needed to be encased in tubing with all the other underlayment and Eddie's electrician buddy came right away to help us so that our project didn't get delayed. We didn't work with an architect on this project. It was just me laying down a garden hose to visualize what a patio would look like and going over it with my husband. Getting the elevations right was tricky since we didn't want a railing to obstruct our view of the garden. Eddie was so helpful with this but he also has the smartest right-hand-man, I think his name is Manuel, who saved the day for me. I wanted to extend the patio out a certain way and in telling him what I envisioned he improved the design on the spot! He eliminated one of the steps transforming the design making it more seamless and elegant. A small thing and yet it was huge in the scope of things. Don't hesitate to have Monroe Masonry do your job. Your only problem might be that he'll be too booked with work when you call.

Except for the LIEN we got from the concrete pump company he used. This was after the fact of paying Edwin. It was unnecessary stress on my elderly family members. I had to get mad at Edwin for not paying his subcontractor which then affect us and our property. I would suggest to make sure he has current insurances and that all his sub contractors are paid before your final payment to him. So maybe get their phone numbers to verify first? What a terrible experience. The work was decent and is a 5 star. But the business ethic of getting his people paid and affect people's title of their property. Not ok! Zero stars for that. I don't want to hurt his business by giving just one star so I will give 3 of 5. UPDATED. REVIEW. Maybe I should lower the stars though because Edwin is saying he doesn't know anything about this which is now a bold face total lie and I'm gonna post photos of our text messages of him saying he's gonna clear it all up. Edwin, you should've just said yes you screwed up instead of trying to cover up your light now you should get less stars. Reply No, the text chain you are in that. Don't try to deny it because I can prove it if I open it up it will show your name Edwin. You'd be better off saying yeah you screwed up you're a human you're not perfect and just admit to it but now the people will see you're not honest and if you get the photo taken down since it's a real photo and a real text chain, I'm sure I can get it back up You are the contractor who holds the license who signed the project contract, who agreed to make sure everything runs smoothly and you're the one who carries supposedly Insurance for that You should actually be sued for the situation because you cause two elderly people major stress and compromise their title to the property. Shame on you.
