Good butcher shop. The inside can get small and crowded because they have several chest freezers that live there. They have good sales and post them on a reader board. You cannot get a better price on ground beef. I think they do game processing there but it might be seasonal. The employees are good but they can get overwhelmed up front so be patient. read more

People skills are not valued among the employees. We stood at the desk waiting for a young lady to finish her paperwork... no acknowledgement, no attention. We had special-ordered some veal. With an annoyed attitude, the young woman finally acknowledged us. She couldn't find the order. Then when they finally figured out which order was ours, nothing was right. We ordered 4lb boneless. They brought out 11lb bone-in. We won't be back. It appears their primary customer is someone with a 500 pound elk in the back of their 67 Ford pickup needing processing. In short: A classic small-town butcher shop that offers a little bit of retail and full-service butchery (e.g., if you buy half an animal or bring in game meat). In long: It's a ways from town, which means freeway time and maybe a little savings in the end. It's on a long straight country road, and has that Hollywood-western façade that makes tourists feel like they've gone someplace new. Inside, there's a smallish room with a bunch of freezer cases that you open from the top to reach in. Understand, much of the retail inventory here is frozen. You can get some good prices on a few things, and the stock must change somewhat now and then. Their webshop lists a couple hundred different items for sale and there's no way there are that many in the physical store. Like most independent butchers, they don't have Prime grade meats for most of their selections most days. Buying power at big-box/warehouse stores is where you have to turn for Prime most of the time. We found steaks, pork chops, and snack sticks at good prices. The staff were nice, but the guy who seemed to be the boss was more into answering phone calls. Word has it locally that these guys offer good specials from time to time. Bottom line, if you're local, this place can help supplement your grocery shopping. It's a long drive to pay roughly the same prices I already pay at the butcher's, and with not much Prime to choose from, it really comes down to processing a whole/half animal to get the most out of this place. read more

Rude & sarcastic counter help, for no apparent reason. Those foul attitudes are definitely chasing away customers, new ones and loyal ones. It's sad really, because I've always gotten great meat, great cuts and fair pricing from them. Hopefully they read these reviews to make positive adjustments. Poor Customer Service/ very poor attitudes. I went into Del Fox meats which was recommended by a different butcher. They didn't have what I needed on hand but said they could order it. Two different staff assisted me. No one smiled, no one was friendly. No one greeted me. They all acted upset and put out that I was there. I went ahead and placed my order which was for one 4 lb boneless veal shoulder roast and 4 lbs of beef shanks. I went in to pick them up and was treated the same way. They couldn't find my order then acted put out again that they had to chase it down. They finally bring out an 11 lb beef shank. I let them know I asked for just 4 lbs. Then the woman very rudely asked me where I wanted it cut, so I said here and here, in two pieces. She then comes back with one big chunk. They finally found the veal roast and it had bone in. At that point I was really done with their attitude so I paid and left. I was scared changing butchers for my bulk purchase cows; but something changed with my go-to one. Got a cow and a pig. The meat was poorly cut. For things like country ribs uncookable. Fillets off the port house just puny. So, I knew I needed to make a change. Do I closed my eyes, gritted my teeth, and shelled out some $ to Delfox. Night and day difference. Do not even question trying them. Below is just plain old Rib Steaks for dinner tonight. I will be shopping there as long as I stat in Wa. I went through Del fox twice. First a quarter of a cow Second a half a cow and a half of lamb I was shorted , missing a lot of meat , on my cuts . I should have checked in the parking lot but when I got home , my tenderloin , ribs and other cuts just were not there . I called and I asked if there was any left in the back in my order and they couldn't answer my questions the answers I did get was " you picked it up already " yeah but a lot of my cuts were missing . I will not return . It's very expensive in the first place then to be " accidentally " shorted and customer service be sub par at best is unacceptable. I'm so disappointed and just not ok with any of it . I felt taken advantage of . I felt like I was robbed . Won't go back . Worst customer service out of any meat business I've ever been to. Bought half a cow and had a lady call to ask my wife how we wanted the cuts. She was super rude on the phone and acted like my wife was an idiot. When we arrived to pick it up, they give you a bloody sheet with your order on it. The lady wheeling out the meat we bought was super rude as well. She wheeled the cart to my truck and I said, "thank you very much for wheeling this out here!". She looked at me like I had just kicked her dog, didn't say anything, and walked away. Paid almost $2500 for half a cow, for that price and that customer service it just isn't worth it. People are nice. Great quality meats and good selection. Picked up a couple chuck roasts and Ribeye steaks and they were excellent. I asked about bulk meat first time we were there and they recently reached out letting me know a 1/4 or 1/2 Beef was available. We agreed to the 1/4 at 183lbs and went over the cut sheet. A few days later got a call that the beef was ready. We showed up Saturday and picked up our order. We are super excited with our purchase. Our total cost per on is less than you can buy ground beef in the grocery. We got steaks, roasts, Maui cut ribs, carne asada, hamburger, soup bones and more. I just butchered a llama and called to see if this was the place I took a deer to a few years ago and got some summer sausage made. I was immediately and somewhat rudely put on hold. When the woman came back she started talking, didn't let me get a word in edgewise, and told me to call back after the first of the year because they were trying to shut down for the holidays. I told her I thought I had brought a deer to them before and wanted to know if they still made their summer sausage. She repeated the same, said she had a lobby full of customers, and hung up on me. If that's how they treat repeated customers I don't know why anyone would want to go to them in the first place. They'll for sure and certain NEVER get any of my business again. They're the epitome of a business who evidently is doing well enough with "Regulars" that they just don't care about how they treat others who aren't. read more

Disgusting meat, didn't get the cuts I requested, and the cuts I did receive were just random hunks of meat with random bones in it. Some of the ground beef wasn't packaged correctly so the meat was exposed to air. Had to throw away entire order as it was inedible. The cow was obviously not hung long enough for all of the blood to exit the carcass, and the meat was not aged more than a day. Gave a friend a couple steaks upon receiving the order and they got sick. You're better off getting your beef from QFC or Subway. read more

I will be honest if it wasn't for their specials on ground beef I wouldn't really stop here. I would steer clear of their Chicken breast specials as they are from older birds more than likely egg layers that can also be used as meat birds. The breast are HUGE and tough as hell, would be great for stewing or making chicken noodle soup but that would be the extent of it. As for their Saturday BBQ. It is good when you get the brisket when you get meat and not a mouth full of FAT look i know you need some fat on the meat but when it is 3/4's of the cut that is nasty and a huge waste of money. Customer service. When you go in to the store they will bend over backwards to help you if they are not super busy, but their phone etiquette is lacking and come off just rude as all get out. No I read the comments from many of the hunter's most of all from during the Covid era. we bought a hog and had it butchered. The quality of the packaging was okay for the most part. the bacon had odd cuts in some of the packages the end pieces were thrown in other packages, just very odd. Some of the chops or steaks were twice as thick as the other ones in the package but the worst thing was the ham. It was supposed to be packaged for two people only 2 were packaged correctly the rest would h fed 4-6 people the meat was tough didn't have much flavor and one was the whole ham and was raw in the middle by the bone. Not really a fan of this place... I ordered a whole cow from a local farmer and had it split into quarters with friends and family. I patiently waited about 6 months until it was time to butcher the cow. Due to an unforeseen situation, Silvana Meats (butcher) was unable to process our order, so the farmer decided to go with Del Fox, they are local and also slightly cheaper. After the cow was butchered I received a call from Del Fox to take my order for the different cuts. The lady on the phone was very rude (I was shocked), I was asked "how I wanted the meat cut". I told her that this was my first time working with a butcher and that I was unsure how the process worked. Noticeably annoyed, she quickly ran through the list the different cuts and took my order. She also asked if I wanted the soup and dog bones, I requested that they save the soup bones. After doing a little research, I called back the next day and request that they also save the "dog" bones. Unfortunately, when I received the order the "dog" bones were missing. Fast forward 2 weeks, I get a call to pick up the meat, at this point I'm super excited! I arrived the next day and walked into the shop to pay the processing fee prior to receiving the order. The two ladies in the shop were surprisingly rude to the customer in front of me, this was little alarming but I was way too excited for my order and just wanted to be in-and-out. It's now my turn pay, I noticed a discrepancy in the pricing and requested that the invoice be revised. The cashier was kind enough to call the farmer to reconfirm the final price and removed the extra charge. Now we have around 4-5 people standing behind us waiting for their churn, and this is when the other lady (assuming to be the owner or co-owner) starts loudly expressing her frustrations with my farmer. Oh boy! This was awkward. Well, I finally pickup my order and am glad to be on my merry way. I get home and unpack my order, being super excited, I unwrap one of the ribeye steak packets and this is when the disappoint set in... I couldn't believe the quality!!! The steak was cut unevenly and the bones were crushed, it looked like someone beat the #%!$ out of the steaks! Guys, steaks at my local grocery store look a lot better! I haven't had the chance to inspect all the other cuts but I hope I'm not further disappointed. Terribly sorry to say this but I would not recommend this butcher to anyone. When I wanted quality meat my neighbors suggested Del Fox. All the meat is frozen and comes from Oregon or California, some from Washington. They could not tell me how old any of the packages were. This shop is not the top quality local FRESH meat shop they pretend to be. And when I asked where the meat comes from they were very rude and haughty. After having our farmer bounce from butcher to butcher around Snohomish County he landed at Del Fox 10 years ago and I couldn't be happier! The meat is always cut perfectly as I ordered. Burger grind is superior to anything you can buy in the store and having been in the cutting area, it is meticulously cleaned! Hands down better than all of the other butchers we have dealt with the last 21 years of buying Snohomish County raised beef. Keep up the great work Del Fox, you guys are the best! read more

My husband and I are a lil weird maybe.... we did a Bacon Day where we tested bacon from several different locations. Del Fox ended up being our favorite. Great stuff (I mean, it's bacon! lol). Also, we went there just for a quick trip to get some jerky (so good!), but it happened they were sampling their corned beef - not only did it smell amazing, it tasted amazing! We purchased a decent sized cut, and during the St. Pattys season had an opportunity to try the products from two addition locations (Costco & Fred Meyers). The brine and product from Del Fox was above and beyond all the others, even Costco - which I usually put a high amount of confidence in. I like this place. Local products from a store staffed by locals. Give them a try at least once before you form your own opinions. I hope you like it as much as my husband and I do! read more

I suggested to the food bank they offer to split the meat to cover the cost. Today I found out the food bank got zero meat and I never got a call about anything. Hands down the best place I've gone to butcher out a pig. They waste nothing! I make my own sausage, but I've been told their sausage mix is great. I do get cured meats from them though and it is delicious! It's on the lighter side for flavor but the fat stay melt in your mouth good. I went to a competitor once and they gave me 9lb of very salty and chewy bacon. The next time I went to Del Fox and the same hanging weight pig gave me 18lb of bacon! So much happier with the flavor of cured meats. They deserve the highest rating possible. read more

I was really excited to visit as I've heard good things. And there is a fair amount of local farms to supply fresh local meat. We ordered a French dip and a hamburger and while we were waiting, perused the cooler. I took a look at the bacon that looked fabulous, expecting to see a short list oh natural ingredients. I can't tell you how dissapointed I was to see Msg at the end. Why??? Why would that even need to be included in the ingredients? I was also dismayed to see sodium nitrate. Either the purveyers are 1. Ignorant of how bad these ingredients are or 2. They don't care about my health enough to keep their meat pure and lovely. Either way, my expectations about feeling really good about what I was about to eat where dashed That said, the meat on the French dip was very good, tender and flavorfull (lets hope I didn't consume msg, as I'm allergic), and my husband liked his burger. The fries where "food services of America"- oh well. I didn't come for the fries, nor did i buy any bacon, or meat for that matter. I cannot say enough good things about this place. My boyfriend and I stopped here (I think the address needs to be updated on yelp?) because I had a groupon. We decided to stay for lunch. They're located in the same little shopping area as Camano Island Coffee Roasters (which has delicious coffee and they offer complementary coffee tasters). My boyfriend and I ordered a burger (with bacon, of course) and a pulled pork sandwich. Both were amazing. They come with your choice of mayo or vinegar coleslaw. I don't like coleslaw, but the one made with apple cider vinegar was really fantastic. Ray was very friendly and helpful. He gave us a taster of some teriyaki-marinated flank steak that fell apart in my mouth. Yum! He also let us try some homemade salsa that was awesome! Their prices are very reasonable, so we decided to pick up a couple ribeye steaks, summer sausage, bacon, and homemade sauces in addition to the groupon deal. O, and if you have a big freezer, this would be a great place to stock up. They have a box deal with 3 whole chickens, a bunch of burgers, pork, etc. for a little over $100. Del Fox is the bane of my existence. I can't drive north for more than ten minutes without wanting to go there. The prices are phenomenal and their products are better. I always get the grill pack, which is a couple pounds of burgers and four packs of Brats for $30, if I remember correctly. Their apple bacon is to die for and goes great with their burgers. I went there because of a groupon deal, and they were happy to hook us up with a generous portion of quality cuts. We also bought some award-winning smoked bacon and some ribeye steaks. In addition, we had lunch at their deli - don't pass up the pulled pork sandwich; also, even though I don't usually like coleslaw, the apple cider vinegar-seasoned coleslaw was amazing. I've lived in Stanwood for some time and was really excited to finally get something from del fox. I bought two packs of bone in pork chops. The only two packs the were in the fridge. I brought them home for my dad to smoke and they were totally rancid. He thought the color was off but he thought it would be fine, so he opened them up and the smell was SO terrible. We had To toss them and it took forever to get the terrible smell out of the kitchen. As a butcher they should definitely be checking ALL of the meat that goes out their doors. They were basically gray/brown not pink at all. So so gnarly. I will not be returning. read more
