They aren't interested at all in doing what the customer wants. It is their way or the highway.

In short We haven't had this kind of shopping around here,…read morelet alone focused in one store. This is where you get the super-nice meat and fish that supermarkets and big-box stores don't have. And their house-made fish dips are amazing. In long It's a little strip mall by the Speedway that would be kinda sleepy except for the drive-through coffee line constantly forming around the whole building. E&O have the end unit. You walk in to a shelf full of solid-value wines, mostly local, aimed to pair with whatever you might take home with you to cook. The ceilings are high, and the walls and floors are all spotless white. No decorations, very little merchandising, if any. There's a long butcher case on the left full of all kinds of crazy treats. Prawns the size of bratwursts. Steaks, roasts, different fish. They skip most of the stuff that supermarkets carry and focus only on more-specialty stuff. Their stock is either a nicer version or it's something that's unavailable elsewhere. You do pay for quality like this on some of the stuff, but if you're cooking a meal you're really looking forward to, the value makes it reasonable. Not everything is expensive, either. They had fresh lemons on the case for 40% less than the supermarket up the street. They had reds, whites, bubblies, and pinks in the wine section with every bottle under $20. And those fish dips, man. I'm surprised they don't sell out by afternoon every day. We had wild salmon and black cod dips before dinner last night, and both were fantastic. They're very well balanced, so maybe you could add hot sauce or fresh herbs to taste, but we've had them several times and never felt compelled to tune them up. The dudes behind the butcher case have decades of industry experience, and they couldn't be nicer, more patient, or more helpful. I love shopping here.

Their produce is limited to to Hispanic cuisine but, I have to say, when you need any tomatillos, jalapeños, etc. it is generally top notch quality. I have never found a bunch of cilantro that what so limp I had to pass it by! I also love the peeled tomatillos. Otherwise I have to buy extra because there is a bad one in every bunch. But, this is a carniceria. I stop here every time I make carne asada or birria. The meat has never let me down, and the staff. I need to stop here and just say. The staff is awesome. Last time I was in there I got in early and the place was nearly empty. The butcher walked me around the store as we discussed our recipes showing me what he used! Awesome. Then I got to try their birria. Which they only make on weekends and I have to say... I thought mine was the best before I had theirs... Back to the drawing board because it was excellent. If you get there early there is generally someone selling tamales in the parking lot. Try them as well, you won't be disappointed!

They don't bake any in house, but the have a small section of various Lebanese pitas, some Persian barbari, even lavash and taftoon, all from local bakeries. The best part is the Iraqi breads at the front - when I visited on Monday morning, they had freshly bake Iraqi Khubz, 5 for $7.99. I asked the cashier and the baker is actually a local woman who was in the store at the time! They also have samoon on Fridays. I'll certainly be visiting again - this is the closest to Seattle I've found for a place that sells both types of common Iraqi breads.

There are pleeeennnty of desserts to choose from. All looked delicious! We did not get a chance to try their dessert though. Next time forsure! A few downsides to this place. You order food and checkout the groceries all in one spot with the same person who takes phone orders, checks out grocery customers, and takes your food order. All that to say, expect to wait a long time to order and to get your food order, depending on how busy they are. Their service, well rather how long you wait to order and get your food, is really the biggest downside. Since we came 2 hours before closing, they were out of the shawarma which we really wanted to try. We ordered fries and Ali's special, and waiting 50 minutes to get our order. The cashier was really nice and apologetic about it but wow 50 minutes is a long time to wait for food. However, the food did not disappoint! We'll be back to try the shawarma another time but I hope service gets better.
