Zero Stars for Zero service. AC was out night one. Spent next day trying to reset the AC thermostat, etc. but no luck. Call Del-Air and got an automated human sounding AI that took all my information and scheduled me for the next morning because no slots were available. So night two passed with my wife and I suffering under blowing fans in an 80+ degree house. Next morning I call to confirm the appointment made the night before. Another human sounding AI answers and I say "LIVE AGENT" twice before getting a real person. She fails to find the appointment in the system until much later and lots of delays and apologies for a slow system--she needed ALL the Same information I provided the AI system the evening before. Then a few minutes before the morning window (8-12) closes, I get an automated email says they cannot contact me and that they will need to reschedule. I call them again, wade past another human-like/AI system and say "Live Agent" twice to get to another agent that takes a long time to find that appointment and offers 1- 5 PM. Then I say OK because what choice do I have? She says is this your number, and proceeds to provide a completely different number from what I gave them initially and the morning of the appointment. They FAILED to have my correct contact information. SO: I wait after telling them how important this is and to text or call me. 30 minutes before the SECOND window closes, I get another automated text saying they cannot make it today and will another time work. They never got here. They never cared to follow through or call to see if the tech had made it here. Ironically, they had another AC tech in my building on the same floor in the time window they offered me but that was NOT my tech so, I never got any help, nor did that tech even care to try to offer assistance. I just want to say this service came out to be deceptive AND gotten worse towards the last 6 months of my service agreement with them. I signed up for the maintenance program which WAS pitched to me AS 2 AC Maintenance and 1 plumbing service and specifically I asked if this could be used towards my WATER HEATER and they BOTH said YES. Moving forward, I have 2 AC units attached to my home so naturally I had to pay for one of the units or a whole maintenance separately and I completely understood that. However, when it came time to do my plumbing call when that tech came out he said my water heater is NOT covered under that maintenance plan. I was heated. He said it only covered a single plumbing INSPECTION. Very deceptive practice. However, he apologized and did the maintenance anyway on it. I was going to cxl the maintenance plan after that experience BUT the reason for THIS review is I had gotten hit with with 4 power surges during a storm in February 2026. I called Del-Air and gotten their after hours system. Left my message no biggy. Called the following day and gotten their robot AI system and what a flipping nightmare. After 7x and finally just digging for direct numbers for an office (compliments to Reddit for these numbers, and howtogetahuman). After getting someone after jumping through hoops, they noticed the conflict and said someone would be out in 72 hrs. Meanwhile upstairs had no ac. Meanwhile I had Rinaldi, Frankgay, and Riffles Air and Heat come through (quotes for insurance). When Del Air came through they would only give the price for the PART to fix, and said they could NOT tell me the cost to fix the AC to get it working again. Apparently they needed to fix the part first THEN test again and simply go through the rabbit hole of fixing parts (which could be MORE expensive than replacing the unit). Mind you the other 3 companies were able to determine parts faulty and cost to repair vs replacing the unit. Cost wise Frank Gay was more pricey, BUT they came out same day and no lame AI robot and million questions. Riffles the following day and way more affordable and all human. Rinaldi while not robotic, was a bit cryptic and pushing for sales, and was more concerned on doing unnecessary services. What I learned, aside from AC Maintenance I would never use them for any kind of repairs, nor emergency services. They came out 13 days AFTER the initial call and only AFTER finally getting a human-being on the phone. Frankgay is reliable BUT expensive. Riffles is very reasonable, reliable, affordable, and humble. They are pretty quick too. Oh HUMAN also. I think I am done with Del-Air. read more

These guys are absolute crooks and they should be ashamed that this is how they do business. #1, as suspected, their team's assessment of the issues was totally fabricated. When I called the technician out on his illogical explanation, he then changed his position and said that the thermostat issue was not the face but the internal piece. FALSE. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the thermostat. #2 their price was completely a rip off and I confirmed this when we had somebody else call in to check on the same thing. They tried to charge me close to $800.00 for a $250.00 part. Then the manager called me and said, "I don't build jobs regularly." Then, he "confirmed" this price was accurate. Been a loyal customer since 2005 when this house was built. They were always wonderful until recently when my experience has been the opposite. Here is a rundown of the most recent nightmare. I need to calculate the number of hours of wasted waiting for phantom repairmen and spent trying to arrange visits, surely more than the number of hours in labor it would take to fix my new problem that only arose immediately following a service visit that finally occurred: March 8 scheduled appt for March 9 (six month maintenance). March 9 got a text that to provide me with the best service (yes, that's what it said) they were cancelling my appt and asked if April 3 8:00am-12:00 was good. I answered "no, any day after 5:00pm is ok." Did not hear back about rescheduling otherwise. March 25 made an appt for March 29 before 10:00pm March 27 got a text confirming the April 3 appt that I already stated I did not want or ask for, figured I'd tell the tech on March 29 about this weird appt on April 3 and to cancel it. March 28 got text confirming March 29 appt before 10:00pm. March 29 got text confirming dispatch of tech Yoandy. It was drizzling for a few minutes and I was told maintenance could not be done due to rain and it was never performed. I called and rescheduled for the following Sunday, April 5, and after a minute or two they confirmed it popped up in their system as an appt on the schedule. They never mention an existing April 3 appointment in the system so I figured it was no longer an issue. April 3 got a text to confirm the not-wanted appt for that day and texted back "no, I have an appointment for Sunday the 5th." April 3 at 9:25am a text message said a tech was dispatched and I immediately called to say no one was home, did not want April 3 visit but wanted to keep my Sunday April 5 visit. AI bot confirmed exactly what I said "cancel today's appointment but keep April 5 appointment. Got it." Came home to the tag on my door saying the tech came to the house and no one was home and he left. April 5, of course, no one showed for the confirmed Sunday appointment, despite waiting all day yet again. 4/28 Scheduled appt for May 1 between 6:00-10:00pm. No one showed, was not notified again. May 2 scheduled visit before 5:00pm. Kept texting for ETA to find after 5:00pm the visit was rescheduled between 4:00-8:00pm as they were running behind. At 8:34pm I texted ETA to find my visit was magically reschedule for the next day, May 3, between 8:00am-12:00pm. May 3 fayyaz from delair showed up and performed some maintenance. He was told to tell me since "I missed my April 3 appt" it was going to cost $ for my already prepaid visit, I explained the previous problems with scheduling and he made a call and I was not charged. After doing some maintenance he said I had a leak in the coil and it would be ~$3500 in labor to fix/replace. I said I didn't have that $ available at the moment and I bought the unit from Delair a few years ago, sad to hear about the leak, I'll call to get it fixed asap. Since the time he left the unit has been running 24 hours a day and not cooling the house. It was working properly up until his arrival so I did not understand, and it was not made clear, that this suddenly meant "if you don't fix it now you will not have any AC since it has been working fine even this morning." After a few days of obviously no cooling with the unit running all day I felt I needed to speak with someone to clarify if something was missed during that maintenance or if I misunderstood something so I scheduled another service visit since it was working prior to most recent svc visit. Saturday May 9 appt scheduled before noon. 2:00 text said running behind schedule. 5:00pm text said Yoandy was dispatched to my home. Never showed. I thought I was still patiently waiting so at 7:11pm I texted ETA to get "our records show today's service visit has been completed". No one ever came to my home. Scheduled May 10 svc visit between 1:00-5:00 that delair changed to between 4:00-8:00pm and at 8:40pm I texted eta and was told I was still on the schedule and thank god John showed up around 9:00pm and was very informative giving me more info than previous visit and confirmed it will not cool the house until I spend $4k to repair the unit that was only a few years old purchased new from delair (carrier unit). Previous AC unit lasted 20 years so it's sad to find that I'm on the hook for thousands of dollars on a relatively new AC unit. Also their system had not been updated to reflect the visit from the previous week so there were no notes or photographs for John to refer. Of course they had a note in the system that I had missed my April 3 appt (the one I did not want or need and tried on three occasions to alert them of this). The only previous notes were of a September and November visit but nothing of the appointments they did not keep or "completed" when no one visited. Very disappointed to say the least. read more

Once again I'm having problems with my "new" [installed in May] HVAC unit. About a month ago I had to have someone come out. Apparently there was a leak in the freon line- the technician showed me a photo he took that had a heavy layer of frost. Today, the thermostat is showing the same message that led up to that problem. I called and they could not send anyone out tonight. They gave me a Saturday appointment (2 days later). I called back to change the appointment to Friday (since I have to work on Thursday). Now, it gets ridiculous dealing with with their AI system. The AI "agent" told me that the technician had ALREADY been out for that appointment!! Am I living in a time warp?? I see many complaints here on very similar issues. I have so many from the past year, year and a half. This company was great at one time, then they sold to a capital Investment Company. Downhill ever since. This place is not worth my sanity. They will literally make you crazy. Now they have a new AI phone system that is randomly adding more issues. Common issues include overpricing items installed, not having all the parts when doing an installation of units, so it sits for months 'waiting for the part to come in' then more waiting for a tech to show up at the appointment time. Which were mostly NO SHOWS. Never letting me know they weren't coming just to find out they didn't show because the part wasn't in yet. Um ok? But you scheduled me and I waited. Finally showed up months later to complete the job. Charged $2,000, was curious how much the unit actually cost, looked it up, it was a $600 unit. $1400 in labor cost??? Currently, went through another round of customer service holds, getting cut off, scheduling NO SHOWS, showing up on a random day I didn't have an appointment, told them to just go ahead and do the job, just to watch them pull away from my house when I thought they were going to do the job, apparently they scheduled me for services I didn't ask for or need, randomly rescheduling service NO SHOWS to a day I never agreed to nor was available. In Dec 2025 on service call they said I needed a new capasitor $500 they installed and tried to upsell/pushed a lighting surge protector - $1400. I found one at Lowes for $250! Passed. Yesterday unit quit cooling and I call for service. They sent a tech guy AND a SALES rep. Said a repair was too costly (a leak) and I should replace whole unit for $15,000 to $25,000. 3 times what I paid for the unit 7 yrs ago. I chose to upgrade my older builders system (Goodman) and went with Del-air because of the value and what I was told was quality work. Well, two weeks later and FIVE TECH VISITS later, my home is STILL without A/C even with this "new" system, and every tech tells me something new is wrong with either the thermostat or the zone board or the wiring. Regardless of how desperate you are for help, I STRONGLY recommend against calling Del-Air and letting them anywhere near your AC. Over the last 10 months of our 1 year prepaid maintenance contract for them to service 4 properties and more than 10 units , we've had a number of complete missed appointments, no shows, guys showing up for an attic job without a ladder ..leaving to get one and never coming back...misdiagnoses causing leaks in our building and property damage, rude reps arriving at night telling us they "don't want to be there" and will "only repair it if the problem is simple, and so much more..." Today's probably takes the cake though. Recently, Del-Air cancelled two scheduled maintenance appointments at the last minute (one was really a "no show") because our "filters are special and on order." (They're not that special; ACE in both Clermont and Groveland have them). After weeks, two Delair trucks showed up and "did maintenance." Two of our units are in guest houses we don't visit daily. Three days later, we found brand new ac filters sitting out on the front porch and one unit running with no filter and another unit completely dead with no filter. No response at all from Del-Air yet. This is after having spoken with at least 2 del-air executives, being promised only their very best, and having "vip status." They installed a 3 ton Trane unit in 2015 that had repeated issues like 2 evaporator coil failures. Once again my maintenance check turned up issues. Now they suggest this was a problematic unit. Well, YOU sold it to me and refused to help me with the manufacturer or admit there was an issue till now because you want to sell me a new unit. After numerous quotes and an independent assessment I discover that Del-Air installed a 3 ton unit on a 2 ton duct system. I would not trust these guys again no matter what! I would stay away from Del-Air. I have had nothing but issues from them. They have been out twice because of high humidity level. First time they said it was the filter, mind I bought their electronic air filter. So I spend 300 bucks on more new filters and it did not fix the problem. They came out again yesterday and still cannot figure it out. They slowed the motor speed and it actually made it worse, humidity is now 70%. Called a supervisor and he told me to wait a week, I said a week, are you kidding me. The humidity level will be 80% by then. Before they messed with it I had it at 65%. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY They installed a blower motor 1 year ago and it stopped working. I had them come out hoping it had a warranty but it did not. I was told a need a whole new ac unit because my coils are dirty and cause the motor to work harder The techs name was Mikeson Orelus. I had another company come the next day and was told the coils are not the problem. There is not enough time to list what I think could be improved. First this is NOT the Del Air that Central Floridians knew. Bob Della Russo passed away and the company sold to an out of state conglomerate. First...we had a Trane that stopped cooling in late July. We called Del Air and a young lady came out and said we need two parts , (covered by warranty) and that the labor would be approx $750.00. I was required to pay 1/2 up front which I willingly paid. Fast forward to today ...10/24...a few days short of 3 months and FINALLY our a/c is fixed! During this 3 months we went through hell. We are senior citizens who suffered this extreme Florida heat for a month. My husband is 81 with heart problems and I am 76. Finally they gave us a portable unit to put in our bedroom so we could sleep. From the original call we went through 6 repairmen/women and 3 motors and 3 circuit boards and 2 wiring harnesses and countless visits that often ran into the night. My husband stood in the garage more than once until after 10 in the August and September grueling heat. You can call them 100 hundred times but the calls are not handled locally. They now use a call center. They pull up your history and say someone will call you but they never do. I could go on with this dissertation for 10 more paragraphs and it would not do justice to the indignities, the stress, the lack of communication so.....my advice is stay away! I have been without AC since Saturday and have a newborn. Del Air came out day of one hour later than then the window with no communication of being late. They diagnosed the problem and we waited until Monday to confirm the price. I had to call ALL day Monday did not get an answer on price and timeline. It wasn't until an escalation report was filed that someone finally returned my call Tuesday afternoon. We were told the part would arrive Thursday or Friday but be given an update on Thursday. Thursday around noon I began calling again ALL day because no one would give me an update on the status of the part. I asked for the technician who assured me he would be available by name and he never returned my call. Management should be embarrassed by their employees lack of communication and responsibility. It is absurd that no one can give me a simple update on the timeline. We have a newborn and need to make arrangements for every day we don't have AC. On 22 February 2025 I contacted DelAir and specifically asked them if they serviced my particular brand of AC. they said yes and came to my residence. Upon arrival we asked the technician if he had worked on the split systems before he said "well yes maybe a few of them" After his diagnosis and I am referring to his particular notes he concluded that "the motor was out of range" and that he advised us to "get another motor", again this is his notes in my bill He also stated that we do not deal with this brand. I ordered the new motor and installed it to only find out that that was not the problem. I contacted Del air and unfortunately was met with harsh negative results as they advise me that they could not go further with repairing my unit because they don't work on this brand. I explained to the lady I mentioned that Was a concern and That was the first question I asked before I agreed to have this company come to my residence. she stated they could no longer go forward with my repairs and wished me good luck. Unfortunately I believe the company is too large and does not care about the honest working people that they erroneously pretend to service. He was extremely knowledgeable and even answered my questions without making me feel clueless. His whole persona made me feel safe due to me being all alone at home.
