this is usually the place where my family and i go to for emissions, but i have to find a new one now. they hired a new man instead of the sweet older one that is usually there. i pulled up and was waiting for the new guy to motion me to drive in, he was sat there chilling for 15 minutes playing on his phone and drinking lemonade when there was no other customer ahead of me. i pulled in and he did not greet me, i said ready? and he said nothing back, im waiting some more and then he said "can i open your car door" i said "go ahead" but he opened it so forcefully, literally yanking it open. then im waiting some more and he says something like "i need your undivided attention, do you even want to get this done?" and im confused because ive been sat in my car waiting for him to say something to me, i look at the screen and see he wants me to say my mileage now. he never asked for it. i said my mileage and he looks pissed for no reason. then he tells me to get out of my car. i said i usually never have to do that here but sure, and he says nothing back. i'm waiting out in 40 degree weather for him to run the test. again, he says nothing when he is finished so when i see he is done i get back in my car. i could have gone anywhere else for a $25 emission but i used to love this specific place because they're usually fast and nice. but i will not be coming back read more

Full disclosure: this was my first emissions test. My current car just became old enough (though she doesn't look a day over one) that she needed to be tested, and prior to that my old car was registered in WV for far too long. I found DEKRA on Yelp, and I went to their website and got a $5 coupon. Normally the service is $25, but this made it $20, and I just had show the coupon on my phone. (This is just info I would have like to have specifically had.) The process went very quickly, and the guy working there was totally polite and nice. While he asked if I wanted to add on new windshield wipers he didn't pressure me. Honestly, I wish other car-related trips, like oil changes went this well, especially as they are more frequent. read more

Wow I pulled up and was helped right away. He guided me into the work area and had me hop out for about 5 minutes. Opened my hood, started the car, ran the tests and I was out in no time. The thing that made it even better is that I used a groupon so I only had to pay $15. Everything went so smooth. He took down my groupon number and I kept it moving. Great job Jaared. I wish all of my errands could go this fast and easy. As far the area around here, it's a little sketchy. Went to do an emissions test today with a car I just bought and Kevin was the guy that attended to me. He told me some useful stuff like I only need to do the test to apply or renew a tag and I do not have to keep it current all the time. He hooked up my car to the OBD II and checked my gas filler cap which took about 10min in total. For $25 and friendly service, its a good place to go to if you are in the area. read more

I wouldn't say it is "fun," but the guy that works there is nice/professional, he knows you want to get in and out as quickly as possible, and he does a great job. Frickin' rules. Nobody enjoys the hassle of emissions testing and registration renewal, but this place won't make it more painful than it has to be. The place is really just a glorified garage on the corner of a strip mall. Two lanes lead in and out, which I imagine allows them to process cars at a pretty decent clip. The only guy working there was also featured on a large employee of the month poster. I wondered how many employees there are in total, but I didn't ask. Even with only one lane open and two cars in front of me, things went pretty fast. Once I was at the front of the line, I was done in less than 10 minutes. No complaints here. read more

Quick, efficient, and affordable. It's tucked away in the Kroger parking lot behind Sonic.

I got my emissions done here, and the guy who works there made it it a breeze. Basically, I had a vehicle which never had emissions done before, so it failed. He told me how to fix it and let me know I'd get a free retest. I replaced the offending gas cap, which was again found to be defective. He told me that he just thought that it was defective and that he'd give me another free retest seeing as the problem was pretty evident. He also let me know just how long it will be before I need to get another one done. Based on the info I had, I would have ended up getting a new one way too soon. Even though I don't need a new check for a while, I will definitely go back here. One note: it does get a little backed up at timed, but they're usu sally pretty quick, or if you want to try back after 15-20 minutes, the rush is usually over. read more
