this is usually the place where my family and i go to for emissions, but i have to find a new one now. they hired a new man instead of the sweet older one that is usually there. i pulled up and was waiting for the new guy to motion me to drive in, he was sat there chilling for 15 minutes playing on his phone and drinking lemonade when there was no other customer ahead of me. i pulled in and he did not greet me, i said ready? and he said nothing back, im waiting some more and then he said "can i open your car door" i said "go ahead" but he opened it so forcefully, literally yanking it open. then im waiting some more and he says something like "i need your undivided attention, do you even want to get this done?" and im confused because ive been sat in my car waiting for him to say something to me, i look at the screen and see he wants me to say my mileage now. he never asked for it. i said my mileage and he looks pissed for no reason. then he tells me to get out of my car. i said i usually never have to do that here but sure, and he says nothing back. i'm waiting out in 40 degree weather for him to run the test. again, he says nothing when he is finished so when i see he is done i get back in my car. i could have gone anywhere else for a $25 emission but i used to love this specific place because they're usually fast and nice. but i will not be coming back read more

Kevin at DEKRA has been doing my car emissions test annually for years now and he is fantastic. He gets the job done quickly and efficiently and is just such a nice, helpful guy. I tell everyone who needs to get their emissions done to come here! read more

Great last minute emission test ( on a Sunday ) .. will definitely use again. Very polite guy..

I went to three other emission test spots that were closed even though it was during operating business hours. I pulled up here and the gentleman was very accommodating and got me in and out in no time. He was very polite and walked me through each step. Will come back next year! read more

I drove to DEKRA one evening for an emissions test. The technician did not waste any time in completing the check. I was pleased with the service and overall only spent about 20 minutes at DEKRA. read more

Great and very fast, operator led through and guided the whole process. Whole thing took about maybe three to five minutes and was very streamlined I didn't even need to get out of the car. read more

I'm in 100% agreement with previous reviewers, and only feel inclined to post to assure everyone the same level of expediency and courtesy holds true today. I've been taking my cars here for the last 2 years and have always had super fast and friendly service. Their weekday hours are until 7pm, which is pretty croosh, too. (that's short for crucial for all you faux bros). read more

DEKRA Emissions Check Station - Behind Chevron on Memorial - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Decatur, Georgia

Fast and efficient for emissions inspection. Came on a Friday during lunch hour and was done in 15 mins

Full disclosure: this was my first emissions test. My current car just became old enough (though she doesn't look a day over one) that she needed to be tested, and prior to that my old car was registered in WV for far too long. I found DEKRA on Yelp, and I went to their website and got a $5 coupon. Normally the service is $25, but this made it $20, and I just had show the coupon on my phone. (This is just info I would have like to have specifically had.) The process went very quickly, and the guy working there was totally polite and nice. While he asked if I wanted to add on new windshield wipers he didn't pressure me. Honestly, I wish other car-related trips, like oil changes went this well, especially as they are more frequent. read more

Super fast and excellent communication throughout the whole process. Did not even have to get out of my car, and got my windshield wipers replaced as the test was running. Best in the area by far! read more

This is actually a really good place to get your emissions checked. It was approximately $20, and we were in and out inside of ten minutes. The guy who helped us was efficient and friendly. It was, perhaps, the greatest emissions test-related experience of my life. read more

Wow I pulled up and was helped right away. He guided me into the work area and had me hop out for about 5 minutes. Opened my hood, started the car, ran the tests and I was out in no time. The thing that made it even better is that I used a groupon so I only had to pay $15. Everything went so smooth. He took down my groupon number and I kept it moving. Great job Jaared. I wish all of my errands could go this fast and easy. As far the area around here, it's a little sketchy. Probably wouldn't come here alone on a dark night lol but I stopped in the Kroger after and it was ok. Just so you know, it's located closer to the Checkers side of the shopping complex. I couldn't finish my review before he finished doing what he had to do. That's how fast it went. I'll be back next year! read more

Went to do an emissions test today with a car I just bought and Kevin was the guy that attended to me. He told me some useful stuff like I only need to do the test to apply or renew a tag and I do not have to keep it current all the time. He hooked up my car to the OBD II and checked my gas filler cap which took about 10min in total. For $25 and friendly service, its a good place to go to if you are in the area. read more

I mean, I wouldn't take the time to review an emissions place unless it was really good or really bad. I wouldn't say it is "fun," but the guy that works there is nice/professional, he knows you want to get in and out as quickly as possible, and he does a great job. He even remembered me from two years earlier (impressive/strange considering I don't even talk to him). He probably remembers the car! Good place. read more

always fast and always professional.. even when I have to wait in the bay with my well-mannred pittbull. I take my car to dekra every year.. there was one time when the tech couldn't find the port to plug in because my mechanic tucked it away where the tech couldn't easily find it but other than that never had any issuses for the past 5yrs.. Go dekra!! read more

There were 2 cars ahead of me on a Monday at 2pm, it went quickly and the gentleman working was very friendly. Once it was my turn it only took about 5 minutes. Cost is $25 and they can take card. I would highly recommend! read more

Frickin' rules. Nobody enjoys the hassle of emissions testing and registration renewal, but this place won't make it more painful than it has to be. The place is really just a glorified garage on the corner of a strip mall. Two lanes lead in and out, which I imagine allows them to process cars at a pretty decent clip. The only guy working there was also featured on a large employee of the month poster. I wondered how many employees there are in total, but I didn't ask. Even with only one lane open and two cars in front of me, things went pretty fast. Once I was at the front of the line, I was done in less than 10 minutes. No complaints here. read more

I came here because the reviews on here as well a google. This place does not disappoint. The guy there is super nice and everything got done quickly. Definitely worth the $25 and I will be going back next year. read more

As another year comes and goes, so do my vehicles... in one door and out the other in no time flat! New this year, they are selling some basic automotive accessories: wiper blades (which they will install for free), jumper cables, tire pressure gauges, roadside safety kits, etc. read more

The best part is I didn't have to get out and he gave clear instructions. He also was knowledgeable about all the options for me to get my tag. read more

I came here for a missions testing for both of our cars. The customer service was good and the testing was done quickly. I was surprised to discover that they sell windshield wipers. The place us clean and they have chairs for customers. read more

I got my emissions done here, and the guy who works there made it it a breeze. Basically, I had a vehicle which never had emissions done before, so it failed. He told me how to fix it and let me know I'd get a free retest. I replaced the offending gas cap, which was again found to be defective. He told me that he just thought that it was defective and that he'd give me another free retest seeing as the problem was pretty evident. He also let me know just how long it will be before I need to get another one done. Based on the info I had, I would have ended up getting a new one way too soon. Even though I don't need a new check for a while, I will definitely go back here. One note: it does get a little backed up at timed, but they're usu sally pretty quick, or if you want to try back after 15-20 minutes, the rush is usually over. read more

Kevin was very nice and offered us a place to sit. In and out in 15 minutes and at a good price.

Quick and easy! They guy who did my emissions test was nice. Got it done in like 5 minutes. In & out.

Quick, efficient, and affordable. It's tucked away in the Kroger parking lot behind Sonic.

Very quick in and out! Our emissions testing was quick and easy. The guy running the place was a bit abrupt and could use some customer service skills, but maybe he had a bad day from dealing with idiots pulling in all afternoon. read more
