It one word: excellent! I realized my water heater had died less than two days before the start of a long holiday weekend. Mike diagnosed the problem over the phone, had me text a photo of its sticker info to make sure he could get the correct part, and arrived less than 24 hrs later to quickly fix it. I thought I was up on long-term home maintenance "rituals" but had not been vacuuming the vents, which was part of why it died. I did know that i should have been flushing it yearly, which I had not, and he advised me at this late point not to start, as it could lead to more problems such as not being able to shut-off the outlet valve due to a build-up of minerals. Update 9/9/18 Mike Helped me clean up this utter mess of plumbing in front of my house, he removed a water softener and completely re did all of the valves and shut offs. He even miter cut the frost protection, who else would do that??? His attention to detail is second to none, there is no replacement for experience. Recently he also helped me rough in and complete a bathroom remodel, he worked with the drywall and tile contractors and knew exactly what questions to ask to ensure his final fixture installation was perfect. HANDS DOWN BEST PLUMBER! Mike came out about a year ago to fix issues a different plumber made in our kitchen. He moved a gas line and changed out all piping under our kitchen sink. Fortunately for me they couldn't repair it the same day so I called around and was referred to Mike. He has been in the business for a long time but just started his own business because he didn't like the corporate mentality of overcharging customers. He was late to my appointment, however, he kept in terrific contact with me to let me know when he would be showing up which I respected tremendously. When he arrived, he showed up with his tools his cleaning materials, and wearing a mask which is very respectful given the Pandemic. He not only fixed the main issue I called him for which was a leaky shower faucet, but he also fix three other small issues at no additional cost because that's the type of professional that he is. He was done with the work in my house in under 45 minutes. About seven years ago, I had the same issue and called Benjamin Franklin plumbing and the plumber had to come back three times spending an hour and a half each time to fix the problem that Mike fixed in under an hour (and then some). Mike came out and was a complete professional. He explained what he would do and offered advice, which I took, on what I could do myself to lessen the cost of repairs (remove vegetation and the like).
