This could actually be a very nice place if the currency was all appreciated the same. If seems as if once the nail tech seen that I was paying with a gift card.. service became rushed and sloppy. I was told that it was a 45 min wait.. i arrived at noon and didn't leave out until 14:31. My pedi did not have a soak..just a rush job.. Instead of a comfortable nail dry station.. I was informed to hold both hands in front of a mini cooling fan. As you can see the application of the polish is sloppy.. Total price with tip was $49. My nail salon journey continues. read more

I went to Dejavu because my regular place closed for a week. The good: -it was clean -I was able to walk in without a wait -the people were friendly. The bad: -it's difficult to tell what gel colors they have. The bottles were a bit misleading in some cases. -they used the same tool (I think it's a dremel?) on my hands, someone's toes, then someone else's hands. I'm not sure if other places do this, but it seemed very unsanitary to me. -the worst part about all of it, is that the girl kept complaining how she knew I got my nails done somewhere else because it was difficult to get the gel off. My other place has never had an issue. Anyways, she must have said this at least 3 times. No biggie, I wasn't in a hurry. She did my nails and within HOURS, my nails started chipping. I can usually go at least 3 weeks without gel chipping. WOULD I GO BACK? If I was desperate or needed my nails done for an event real quick, yes. Otherwise, they had a chance to gain a regular customer and lost me for all the reasons stated above. read more

UPDATE 2/20/21 I literally just got out the shower and my big toe he kept polishing over and over is peeling I am so done!!!! Unprofessional and quality is not a word they know!!! so basically I donated $40 - if you read this dejavu- the right thing would be for you to refund my money... 2/19/21 Why can we leave no stars... As much as I read reviews on everything and every place else I should be ashamed! Had I read reviews first I could have kept going to another salon. I went in asked for a gel pedicure she said $40 total. Asked if I wanted some special pedicure I said no- start talking to each other in their language. Man comes to do pedicure and when he cleaned under nails it's like he was simulating the task he hardly cleaned under... but I let that go I then watched him half ass do my cuticles... he then pulls out my new packet of nail file, buffer and used a scrubber from the draw to start scrubbing my heels. I said I was the scraper... he said this is it I will do it twice... no sir... I am paying for a full pedicure... he then gets up and gets it in a huff. So when he comes back he said I have too much dead skin he can not promise my feet will be smooth... have you ever???? I am laughing as I type but trust was not funny! So I said you can get my feet right that's what a pedicure is for... and sure enough people I still had to come home and use my own callous remover and my scrubber and guess what?? Feet soft!! Like don't do that!! Needless to say no tip given!! Told owner not happy and she said next time she take care of me I was like NEXT TIME???!!! Noooo ma'am I will be writing a review this is horrible and she said ok like obviously they don't care and I have about 4 more spots to cut and paste this because that's a shame basically stole my money cause I will need a pedicure next weekend after this mess!! So STAY CLEAR!!!! of this nail place cause salon is not it... in shopping center of ditch and 86th I would show my foot but not tryna go out like that ... never had a bad pedicure honestly but this is one for sure They did me like this because I would not get fruit and vegetable type pedicure! When going to nail salon I would have thought that my nails and feet would look good, but when getting my nails don't they didn't clean up my cuticles. For the feet I got nicked my the drill and there was a bug in my water but instead of changing the water or getting something off my service she picked up the bug and threw it on the ground. I went after a long day at work looking to treat myself. All I wanted was a gel manicure and I never thought I would be so disappointed. I told the man I wanted to keep the length of my nails and after saying this he cuts them! Not only did he cut them after telling him to not they are not even. Long, short, slanted. He made them square when they were oval before, I'm guessing to make is job easier. Its not like he filed them because they aren't smooth and they catch on fabric all the time. He talked on his bluetooth hands free earbud the entire time. I have never been so disappointed in a manicure my entire life. Oh La La Nails further down 86th street near ultra is so much better. This nail salon has recently been remodeled and is bright and clean. While not busy, the owner was busy cleaning and restocking. The service is professional and the nail treatments are nicely done. The salon does get busy on the weekends. If you can go during the week, you probably will not have to wait. This was a better experience as compared to previous visits. read more

I went here today and watched them field some doozies of customers with professionalism (I myself wanted to smack one of them, which is why I'm not a business owner), Also, I took my dad there- he's got motor skills issues, which makes self care hard (think long, grody nails). The man that did his feet was so gentle and kind- my dad says he feels like a million bucks now, and my own tired feet feel pampered-and look super cute! This salon advertises uv gel nail services but does not offer it. They only offer shellac or gel nail polish over acrylic. They also use rusty instruments and the owner claims she doesn't know what rust means. Deja Vu Nails on 86th Street in Indianapolis is an assembly line establishment that does not have the consumers health or best interests in mind. Besides not receiving a manicure or oil for my cuticles, I did not receive the gel nail service I thought I paid for and was assured that it was a gel nail. (I rarely get fake nails so I trusted my professional albeit very confused) I specifically said over and over that I don't want gel polish but a gel nail. Although polite in the beginning and probably otherwise sweet my nail tech became upset when I addressed the fact the nail finish was not like the gel I requested. My nail tech was obviously confused and frustrated by my request and refusal of gel polish and that's why she didn't continue the entire manicure or apply oil. She wanted me to trust her and to believe there is not much difference between acrylic and gel. There is a difference. They KNOW the difference but are taking advantage of consumers that don't. For a second I thought that they really didn't know the difference but the scheme they are running is below: Gel nail services can be referred to as sculpted nail gel or liquid gel nails. The actual product is liquid and needs to be cured. It takes a skilled and CERTIFIED nail tech to do it. Clients can put a gel polish over it if desired but the actual nail shape is "built" with gel. If a nail tech uses powder and liquid to make a gel, that's ACRYLIC. Gel powder mixed with a liquid is acrylic just a safer version (in theory). IF IT IS NOT CURED WITH A UV LIGHT... IT IS ACRYLIC. Many nail salons offer acrylic nails with a gel polish over it and pass it off as gel nails and charge gel prices. That is deceiving and takes advantage of consumers.. Icing: After receiving the incorrect service and returning the next day and demanding the nails be removed because they argued that my acrylic nails were gel, the owner told me that she does not know what rust is when trying to use two rusty nail clippers on me (The clippers used first were completely brown except closer to the handle and she put it away when I pulled out my phone.) A licensed manicurists/cosmetologist is taught to be aware of and to identify all contaminants and to keep all tools clean and safe for client use. If you don't know what rust is how can you keep your clients safe? Do you not know what bacteria is either? And English as a second language is not an excuse and I spelled out rust for her. It's also a common sense concept. Awful experience, terrible customer service, low competency of their own industry trends and no sense of conflict resolution. read more

This is my neighborhood place. The staff is very friendly and always do a great job... I get tons of compliments. They also do brows (what I most regularly go for).
