If I made a comment about a dress was perfect but had too much tulle or wishing a style had an off the shoulder version, they would immediately bring a new style that fit exactly what I meant. Every dress was perfection and very hard to make a choice. I told them I wanted to look like a "2026 bride" and they helped me hit the nail on the head. Our visit was one that left us very frustrated. We gave the owner my daughters size and didnt give us 1 dress in her size. This was very frusterating so we were leaving and she then questioned why we werent purchasing a prom dress. When I told her why she then decided to want to help us find her size. We rejected her offer. When you are in sales especiall clothing you NEVER give someone 2 sizes smaller or 2 sizes bigger. That is just lazy. Plus the dresses are marked up by 65%. I was googling the dress she gave us and found them online for 400.00 cheaper. I would never go back to this overpriced disaster. read more

The store has a great selection of dresses. However, we visited on a Sunday, and it was extremely crowded since they do not take appointments for prom dress shopping. Given the price range--up to $1,000 for a dress--I expected a more streamlined experience. Instead, we waited about 30 minutes just to get into a dressing room. Each shopper is assigned an associate, but in our case, the assistance was minimal and limited to being shown to a dressing room. Meanwhile, our friends received much more information, including details about the store's policy ensuring no one from the same school purchases the same dress. While waiting in line, an associate took our shopping tote, which contained my daughter's shoes and water bottle, to hold at the front counter. However, we later noticed another customer with a larger bag full of shoes who was not asked to do the same. The only posted policy stated that backpacks were not allowed in the store. When I was checking out, an associate mentioned that they had an incident with an empty shopping tote, seemingly to frame it as "nothing personal." I understand the need for security, but consistency in enforcing policies would improve the experience for all customers. Overall, the experience was disappointing. I do not recommend this store and will not be shopping here again. read more

This place doesn't seem to have a decent selection. But what Amazes me is that the staff is so rude. In fact I was not even in the store for five minutes and another client was upset because they force wearing a mask when in fact it's not even the law in this county. To make matters even worse the staff walks around with the mask below their noses and one staff member has a netted mask that you can literally se throw it. It just seem very hypocritical. This place is a joke . Needless to say we are taking our business somewhere else. Stay way from this dump is what I recommend. AGAIN ITS NOT ABOUT THE SAFETY OFF THE STAFF AND CLIENTS IF THE EMPLOYEES ARE WEARING MESHED MASK AND WEARING BELOW THE NOSE!! VERY VERY HYPOCRITICAL. Reply: If your staff is so concerned about their health and everyone else's wellbeing they wouldn't have been wearing mesh masks or wearing their masks under their nose. It is a different thing if they followed their own rules, but obviously they did't feel the need to, even though you stated they have "health problems" and "little ones at home". Of all the places this dad has frequented in the 2021 homecoming dress search this one was the most disappointing. Staff was not very friendly, borderline rude. Selection was so-so. They overall made me and my friend feel awful about our bodies. If you're not a thin and petite body type don't even try stepping your foot through the door. I myself am a size 6/8 and they treated me as if I was obese. As for my friend, she walked out crying. Not only that, but they treated our trip as if it wasn't for serious inquires. We came in with our wallets full, and left with them full. Bad business if you ask me. Body positivity and politeness are not their strong suits, and for that reason you will never find me in that shop again and will warn anyone planning to go there. Whether you are trying to find a prom, homecoming, quinceanera, bridesmaids, or pageant dress, save yourself the time and look somewhere else. So happy we found this boutique. My daughter was having a hard time finding a dress in her size for homecoming. I hesitated to make the drive, over 90 minutes away, but so glad I did! My daughter found several dresses and ultimately found one she LOVED. Not just liked but loved and clearly made her feel special. Everyone commented on the dress being perfect for her. They also offer tons of earrings and jewelry, some shoes and accessories for your special occasion. Don't forget when you check out to ask them about different bra options they have. The staff here is simply amazing! They are so polite and professional. They know what they are doing and they are happy to assist you. Buyer beware - buried in their terms and conditions is the fact that you cannot return merchandise. Do they contact you personally after you place your order and before you are billed as they state on their "terms"? They DO NOT. They will just ship your item, barely issue a shipping confirmation, then tell you "the dress is yours" even when the dress looks NOTHING like the advertised photo and will have to altered ($340 plus shipping and you're stuck with a horrible dress that you would never use). You're better off paying twice as much at a real store like Nordstrom's or Neiman Marcus. I strongly suggest NEVER ordering from this store online. read more

I went with my friend to find a dress for a wedding. We were told an appt wasn't needed and to just show up and that's what we did. They pointed to some racks to find dresses and after that we were totally ignored. Then we were told to move fitting rooms. The staff helping other two clients was overwhelmed and really couldn't help us. One lady scolded us and told us to not zip up dresses - they had to do that but no one was helping us. We felt like we were a big inconvenience. No one helped us find dresses either. We did that. I have shopped here many times to find my daughter dresses, but I will never shop here again! If you want a dress, this really is one of, if not, the best dress shop in MD. The selection is simply incomparable. The dresses tend to be high end, with a really good selection of Sherri Hill and if that's what you like you'll love deja vu. However, there still are sale and lower end dresses available. I know plus size people have had bad experiences here before, and being plus size, I do know what they feel to an extent. The owner can come off quite harshly (to her workers at times too, I feel) but it's never been too bad for me and she's actually been quite nice to me (I don't think she has ill intent). If you're thinking about coming here, you must. They will really work with you, try and come in when it's not busy, and you'll have a good experience. It's lovely read more

As soon as I walked in I felt un-welcomed. I was told I was only allowed to try on 4 dresses TOTAL because I wasn't "seriously looking." I don't remember them asking me if I was seriously looking, but I was. Instead, they decided to make a snap judgment on me and my age. The older workers were the worst (the younger ones were good and helpful). They judged me and one of them argued with me and the employee helping me about my size. The bride really wanted me to wear an Adrianna Papell dress (something beaded) but we had a hard time finding any available in the bridal shops. We had already been to many shops looking for bridesmaid dresses. We were kind of worn out and starting to run out of time for ordering. Deja Vu was an hour away but based on my email exchange they had some of the styles we wanted to see prior to ordering. When we got there we were told that the dresses/makers are mixed in we started looking but were overwhelmed because there are A LOT of dresses. After looking for a while, Jenny noticed how defeated we looked and saved us! She immediately pulled the specific dresses that we were looking for. We tried them and, with the help of Jenny and Nicole, we were able to order exactly what the bride wanted. It was passed closing time when we were still making the decision and trying a couple of dresses. The last dress we tried ened up being The One. Jenny and Nicole were very patient and continued helping without rushing us or even mentioning that we were over time. I heard about the boutique from a friend and made the hour drive to visit my freshman year of high school, so worth the drive every time! Deja Vu became my go to shop for homecomings and proms. The worst part of graduating was knowing these visits were over! The staff is always incredibly helpful. They're sweet women that truly want to help you look your best, and will give the honest opinion when it comes down to those two favorites (as it always does). Little tip though: Know WHEN to buy! Homecomings and proms can get pricey, but Deja Vu has amazing sales beforehand (of the previous years dresses) that allow you to get so much more bang for your buck! read more

I came to this salon specifically because of it's selection. I'm a plus size bridesmaid, living in Northern Virginia, so coming all the way out here was a haul. I was extremely disappointed with the service I received as well as the selection. I made an appointment for 10:30AM to browse Christina Wu, which is my bride's designer. I was in and out within 15 minutes. I walked in, and the attendant was talking with another guest, and while she did say hello her attention seemed to be more on the other guest so I waited for her to be done to acknowledge me. After a few minutes, the way she decided to do that was by asking "Did you have a question?". That was rude right off the bat, and she seemed annoyed when I said I had an appointment. Then, I had to run through every single style number I had with her despite calling ahead, sharing my size and my designer. They had obviously done no prep work, but we pulled some gowns anyway, only 3 of which I was able to try on, though we pulled 4. /the fourth she chose for me was 2 sizes down from my retail size. When I pointed it out to her she said that she'd pulled it so I could see quality, even though I'd specifically said I was there to try on styles, because none of the bridesmaids are wearing the same dress in this wedding. The attendant was unsympathetic and didn't offer any solutions to the fact that none of these dresses were fitting. She offered to take measurements so we could order a dress, but that didn't help me find one I actually wanted to wear. I asked if they had any dresses by different designers so I could try and see shape, but they said they probably wouldn't have any dresses that would fit. At that point, I decided to leave, which was then that the attendant seemed to get more invested in my being in the shop. She honestly seemed like she didn't want to loose a sale. Brought up quality again, and taking my measurements. Why would I let you take my measurements when you didn't seem to care a minute ago? I believe she wasn't invested because of my size - the way she looked at me, if you're a plus size girl you know the one I'm talking about. The one that says you're fat why are you here. I would NOT recommend this store to ANYONE. The next boutique I went to I shared my experience, and before I could say the name of the shop they had guessed that it was Deja Vu. Obviously this is a common occurrence. You should change your advertisements if you don't have a good size selection in store, and you should retrain your staff so that they actually seem like they care about the people shopping with you. read more

The only thing good I can say about this place is that the dresses are pretty and it is local. Other than that there is nothing redeeming about it. I was looking for wedding dresses and was treated very poorly when I stopped by. I will note that I am plus size, but not in an uncommon size (18/20). I was ignored by staff and when I approached staff they were very rude to me as if me being there was an inconvenience. When I asked if I could look at wedding dresses I was told that wedding dresses are done by appointment (understandable) and that they don't have a large selection of dresses that would fit me and that their dresses are on the expensive side because they are high end. Now, the reason this bothers me is not because I think they should cater to plus size people but because of how it was said. I would also like to add I was in sweatpants and a larger t-shirt but just because I wasn't dressed the best does not give someone the right to judge my budget. Little did they know I was prepared to look at dresses upwards of $3000 which is a pretty decent budget in this area, but I didn't feel the need to tell the lady I spoke to that because that shouldn't determine how you treat people. read more

So I went in here to buy a unique wedding dress. Found a dress I liked, and went to get cups added in. When my dress came home with me, I found that the boning on the dress had been bent. I went back into the shop to get it fixed a few weeks later, and was told it was now prom season, and could I please come back when it wasn't so they could look at it then. Waited a few months, came back, and they literally told me that there was nothing they could do, and the dress was discontinued anyway now that it's months later. The seamstress steamed my dress and bent the boning backwards while I waited. (Why did I have to wait multiple months for this???) Deborah was also HORRIBLE with my 16-year-old bridesmaid. She was trying on dresses and found one she liked that was a little tight. There is a big difference between telling someone that a dress doesn't fit and standing there, criticizing how it pinches and fits in the folds of her body, which is what Deborah did. My bridesmaid kept asking me afterwards if she was fat. I also got to listen to Deborah inform a pageant girl that earrings had "weight" and she basically had to get over it if she thought earrings were too heavy. How the hell is that even okay? Wish I had never bought my dress here. read more

I walked in with an intention to purchase a prom dress, and I had came in with a friend since my mother was out of the country for two months. I tell the lady I am looking for a dress and she immediately questions why I am here, so I tell her that I'm looking for a prom dress, and then she said "Well is your mother coming in at least?" I felt not only unwelcome in the boutique, but also ridiculed. It felt embarrassing to be questioned when I came in just to purchase a dress, and it was extremely rude to just assume of her. What would have happened if I did not have a mother and she questioned that? I wouldn't recommend, poor customer service and I lost all motivation to browse after that rude interaction. read more

We received excellent personalized attention from Jo who has years of experience in selecting amazing, one of its kind gowns. She listened to us and showed us gowns within our pricerange and were unique and perfect for my daughter. It was relaxed and professional and no pressure to purchase. Additionally, when we had a complication with one of the manufacturer's defects, she handled our hysteria and compliant with grace and expertise and got us results! An absolute joke. I chose this retailer for my senior prom dress based solely on their "prom promise". (A guarantee they will not sell your same dress to anyone at your school or a surrounding school). I bought my dress 4+ months ago (January) and 3 days before prom (prom being tomorrow 5/18) I find out they sold a girl in my grade my exact dress and exact color! They then claimed the girl they sold the dress to "lied" and said she was "buying the dress for a "wedding" and "not a prom" and said that they would be taking no responsibility because "it's not their fault she lied". Extremely unprofessional and sad that my senior prom is ruined because I trusted them. Their "promise" doesn't mean a thing! Absolutely would not recommend to anyone! read more

I bought all three of my prom gowns from Deja Vu. Last year I bought a beautiful Sherri Hill and it only took five minutes to find it. They have the best selection I've ever seen. Jo, the owner, claims they have 4,000 dresses, but i think they have more than that because they have never ending racks of gorgeous gowns. I can't forget to mention the stunning jewelry! It's all Jim Ball and it will make any dress sparkle. I loved this boutique so much i went during the summer to check out their boutique clothing. Let's just say i walked out with a few bags. The staff is so helpful i barely have to lift a finger whenever I am there. Everything they sell is great quality and will last for years.
