From what I could tell online, they appeared to go out of business. Since I started working in Kenner I kept hearing the buzz about Party Palace and how it was "just as good" as Randazzo's or Haydel's king cakes. I have to say they certainly do stack up to the competition. I am a traditional kinda gal and I loved the ribbons of cinnamon throughout the bread...the true mark of care and quality in a king cake in my opinion. I hate when its just plain bread with no flavor, but this was the opposite. The cake was topped with white icing and colored granulated sugar....the way it should be! The king cake was super fresh and dare I say it...moist. (chills, I know.) The building it very unassuming plopped in the middle of a random section of residential and warehouse type businesses. I guiltily used my GPS to get to there. I did not realize Veterans went past Loyola, guys! Apparently, they sell Party Palace king cakes in a lot of other places around the city so if you see the logo elsewhere, know that it has the mark of approval from the locals.
