They kept the character of the main street building, moldings, ceiling, decor. Then you are greeted by a no nonsense barista... and since we are NOT locals, they helped us comb through all the great offerings. House made teas... yum. Great food. And good coffee and espresso. I have been here several times and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great - there area several tables and couches for customers to sit and relax. Service was excellent and I received a punch card on my first visit there. When my friend and I went there as a birthday celebration, the employee gave me a free cupcake - that was completely unexpected and just shows how wonderful the staff is here. I've had several different types of coffee here and they were all fantastic, including the espresso I ordered once when I needed a boost. There is free parking on the street or a parking lot across the street (also free) for busy days. I will definitely be a repeat customer for Deja Brew! read more

I've been here twice and was unimpressed both times. It is far too understaffed for a coffee shop (there needs to be at least more than one person behind the counter ), and the service is awful. I had the same barista both times and he has a horrible attitude, doesn't smile, brought my friend and I both the wrong orders, and when we did get our correct food, the kid practically threw it at us. I have four years experience in the coffee business, and their espresso tastes stale and their shots pull for too long. The food is sub-par as well. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but there are at least six other places on main street I would recommend before this one. read more

After several months and probably a hundred visits to Deja Brew I can't say enough good things about the cafe. The staff remains awesome and welcoming, they make a darn good coffee and awesome food. Coffee is some of the best we've had, entrees were well done, service was excellent, and music was tasteful and kept at a low enough volume that we could converse easily. This is a quirky coffee shop that offers unusual drinks, like a rooibos latte! Based on the barista's reaction when I ordered, this item isn't exactly their most popular sell, but they have it. They offer almond milk, which is becoming increasingly easier to find in indie and chain coffee houses, though still not as easy to find as soy milk. Besides the caffeinated beverages and teas, they also offer craft sodas which sounded pretty interesting. There's ample space for chillin', studying, meeting with friends, etc. There's a comfier space close to the entrance with plush couches that seems like one that is frequently rented by groups (like the art class we encountered this past Sunday). I enjoyed my drink and also appreciated the coffee shop's funkiness (signs like one that read "Don't make me unleash my flying monkeys on you" hahaha). Overall, a great spot to relax and unwind. I saw in passing some bad reviews for their food. No experience yet so I can't comment on their eats, but the drink I tried was good, especially since it seemed like this may have been the staff member's first time preparing. She was very kind and offered to remake if I wasn't satisfied, but it was good as is. We'll definitely be back if passing through these parts or spending an hour or two in Warrenton. read more

My favorite aspect of Deja Brew is definitely the atmosphere; the large front windows provide a lovely view of Main Street, with comfy couches conviently arranged in the sunlight for prime relaxation. The food's great, everyone's always friendly and engaging, the coffee always hot and strong, and what the heck they have alcohol to top it off too?! I love Deja Brew ! :)) I've been a regular customer since the Haymarket location ! The new space in Warrenton is great ! Charming and cozy - with wonderful staff ! It's like being at a good friend's house. ...like 'Cheers' for coffee addicts instead of drinkers ! The espresso is a proprietary blend, and has just the right note of earthiness and nuttiness to make the drinks exceptional. Ryan and Tracy, the regular managers, are highly qualified baristas, and take care with their craft. Drinks are crafted, not production-assembly-line made, which is a delightful change in the coffee world today. In addition, the legacy of the shop from the previous Owner and location remains, in their commitment to and support of the local artists - there is often live music, children's shows and activities, poetry readings, local artists' work on the walls, and even the public use instruments scattered about the shop. Priced better than Starbucks and half of the cost. Great atmosphere for reading, studying, or sipping coffee and letting your toddler play on the floor - there are even toys provided. Because there is no other cafe, I have tried Deja Brew about 5 times. I have been disappointed everytime. The music is blaring and invasive to the point I remember to bring earbuds and listen to something less intrusive. I ordered a muffin with my coffee. The price was outrageous especially for what I received. She reached in the freezer, opened up a plastic bag w/the muffin inside and heated in the microwave. It tasted so bad I couldn't finish it. It's like the cheap pastry you get at a gas station. The people there are obviously having a great time working there, but have no real empathy for the patrons, in my opinion and from my experiences. It is so disappointing. This has the prices of a fine quality cafe without the actual care and attention to the patrons, in my opinion. read more

Good news, Deja Brew has really good coffee. Bad news, it's not what I wanted. That may or may not be their fault, but what I wanted was an apple cider special with caramel and whipped cream. I tried the starbucks version, but it tasted like played up apple juice. I've debated going back to Deja Brew just to get the special multiple times over the last few days. Their frozen lemonade was really good Melton John had too much goat cheese and was just a weird mess of a sandwich. Wherever I may roam was a really good caprese panini. Their "egghead on patrol" is a monster bagel with really well cooked eggs and whatever meat you want. I was surprised to see that it was a sandwich worth the five dollars. Both servers have been nice and seemed interested in the service. The space is oddly separated into rooms, and seems like a couple different businesses, but they handle the walls and weird spacing well. If they could drop a dollar or two off most of the menu this place would be amazing, but as is, it's really good. read more

We popped on today for lunch. My son had the "Piano Man Grilled Cheese" with the spicy ranch and avocado on the side. The ranch was not very spicy but the avocado was perfectly ripe. He loved the sandwich. I had the "Eleanor Rigby" turkey ruben panini. It was not a panini. It was served on marbled rye that was not even grilled. And there was no Russian dressing on the sandwich. By the time I got that the sandwich was completely cold. Still, it was tasty. Both served with Lays chips. My daughter had coffee and a Nutella turnover. The turnover was great. Coffee was ok. Came to $24.50. Not bad. I would try again EXCEPT that the owner ruined our experience. She was loudly scolding and shaming her child. She said, "I don't know why I bother buying you anything!! You are such a spoiled brat!" The child stood in the middle of the restaurant crying and she and the other child eventually went outside. The owner/mother came back through and asked where they went and the (very nice and helpful) young man behind the counter told her they went out and she followed them out without a word. I get everyone has a bad day but to not apologize to her child, staff and/or customers for her outburst is completely unacceptable and I will not return nor recommend. read more

Came here for brunch today. Prices are affordable and the coffee servings are large. Staff is friendly and I like the local art on the wall. As for the food that is another story. I ordered the Eleonor Rigby Panini which is essentially a turkey Reuben. It arrived with a chill to it and was anemic in its contents for the $7.99 price. There was literally one slice of turkey, no visible cheese, a tablespoon of sauerkraut and there may have been Russian dressing. The chips had a funny taste to them. I could not eat it and requested a refund. The manager was very polite and understanding and in fact refunded mine and my wife's meal. I am hoping the management will up their food quality game here because it is a quaint spot in downtown Warrenton. I'll be back in six months for a second and potentially last time to retest. read more

I had the exact same experience today as other reviewers regarding lunch - specifically what was billed as a Brie turkey jam panini. Regular bread and very little toppings so just tasted like a turkey sandwich. Very disappointing . Music was loud and someone else turned down. Automatically shot back up on volume as soon as that customer left . Staff very loud talking and messing around with each other and a customer. I had to wait to order until they finished their story. I couldn't relax and enjoy a book over their talking so loud. They are set up to charge a tip automatically even though you order at the counter and no one checks on you at all - just delivers the food. Gives options of 18 percent 20 percent and I think 30. I was surprised they were seeking a tip when there wasn't wait staff and you give it before you see how poor the food was and the environment unpleasant . I have been here before for lunch and it was much better. Seems like they are catering to a college crowd this summer and not working adults on a lunch break. read more

I have no idea why Yelp keeps flagging my reviews for Deja Brew. I have changed it several times, but it keeps automatically rejecting it. I have never had any problems with my other reviews. * * * * * We have sampled a variety of items from Deja Brew and, thankfully, we have enjoyed most of them. Their Wherever I May Rome was wonderful! It is basically a Caprese Panini, which you can order plain or with chicken. I had the classic version. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the bread was perfectly toasted. I paired it with the Soup of the Day, which was Broccoli and Cheese. Unfortunately, the soup was mushy, bland, and incredibly disappointing. Their Melton John sandwich was prepared well, but I did not care for the taste. I felt it had too much goat cheese, which overshadowed the rest of the ingredients. The Egghead on Patrol (with sausage on a bagel) was really hearty, especially for a breakfast sandwich. I would have liked the bagel to be a bit more toasted, but it was still really tasty. Their Redheaded Cupcake was wonderful! It had strawberries, cream cheese, and (I think?) rum. Their Apple Turnover was great, too. It was delicious, and it had a good balance of apples and flaky pastry. Their Chocolate Chip Scone tasted fresh, but the texture was very dry. My favorite drink is their Caramel Apple Cider (when made correctly). A rich layer of caramel cream sits on top of the cider, so every sip is a perfect combination of fall flavors. Their Frozen Lemonade was good, but it had a very slightly bitter, almost pithy, taste. I like that you can make your own custom Phrapes (as they call them). I had one with Toffee and Caramel, which was really good. With only a couple exceptions, the staff has been wonderful! Kelsey, who is the manager, and her sister are both extremely friendly and helpful, and they will go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with your order. They make the best Cafe Americano I have ever had! It tasted sweet and when I asked the barista explained that when roasting the beans they take out the acidic taste which leaves a sweet taste. What an amazing drink. Definitely worth the day drive to Warrenton just for that:) read more
