We got married in October 2025 at Deity Events in downtown Brooklyn, and our experience was nothing short of magical. From the very first moment we toured the space in spring 2024, we knew it was the one. The venue is stunning -- modern yet warm, with gorgeous architectural details and an effortlessly chic vibe that feels both elevated and welcoming. Deity is truly a dream for couples planning a wedding in NYC. They host weddings from 50 to 150 guests, and we chose their 50-person micro wedding package. Their pricing is transparent and incredibly reasonable for NYC -- packages range from $12K-$18K, and we added their breathtaking bridal suite for an additional $3,000, which was worth every penny. The suite is spectacular: two bathrooms, a shower, a full kitchen, a balcony, incredible photography space, a huge sleigh bed, a stunning tub, luxe velvet and leather furniture, exposed brick, and access to a rooftop with a hot tub and cold plunge. It made our wedding morning feel like a luxury retreat and gave us the most beautiful getting-ready photos. What really sets Deity apart is that they are fully all-inclusive and tip-free, which made planning so much less stressful. They handled coat check, bartenders, staffing, a day-of coordinator, DJ/MC, room transitions between floors, passed appetizers, a excellent, generous family style seated dinner, and a full bar with fantastic food and drinks. They also offer beautiful decor basics including a gorgeous hexagon arch, candles, mirrors, table numbers, linens, chairs, and all flatware. This allowed us to personalize the day with our own invites, florals, attire, officiant, dessert, and additional vendors without feeling overwhelmed. Our coordinator was absolutely phenomenal -- calm, organized, and truly invested in making our day perfect. The owner, Caio, was lovely, warm, and incredibly professional throughout the entire process. We had several planning meetings, a detailed walk-through, and many email exchanges, and we always felt supported and at ease. We also loved the group tasting experience they offered with other couples getting married that month -- it was such a thoughtful and fun touch. All in, we were able to have our entire wedding in downtown Brooklyn for around $35K -- about $20K to the venue and $15K for extras -- which felt like an incredible value for the level of service, quality, and beauty we received. Location-wise, Deity is unbeatable. Being so close to Barclays Center meant there were at least seven hotels within a seven-minute walk, making it super convenient for our out-of-town guests. The flexibility to bring in our own vendors (outside of food and alcohol) made the entire process smooth, creative, and joyful. Truly, the whole experience was seamless from start to finish. Having been to loads of weddings held in standard banquet halls or ballrooms, we were looking for a "non-traditional" venue that stood out, and Deity did exactly that. Working with Anastasia and Caio was the most seamless process that we could have hoped for. They were both extremely accommodating, understanding, and willing to work with us to ensure that the day went exactly as we had planned. I am admittedly not familiar with many places in Brooklyn as it's not my usual stomping grounds. However, one of my best friends was getting married and the reception was being held here at Diety. I'm always interested in how event spaces put on their show, and as such I was looking forward to checking this place out as well as celebrating my friend's new chapter. Diety doesn't look like much from the outside, especially as it's adjacent to Downtown Brooklyn and nestled in the middle of the block amongst several other businesses, however once you're inside there are a variety of spaces that can fit a variety of event types. The space is broken up into several floors - there are at least three of them with space to host, as well as a private area which looks like space to get ready, and then a rooftop area which (what I was told) has a hot tub. I hung out with the wedding party prior to the ceremony so I was in the upstairs area - it's spacious with a large kitchen, a selfie mirror, as well as a variety of sitting areas to relax and take pictures. The wedding was split among the other floors which had a bar area, dance floor, and space to exchange vows. Each floor provided different services but they were all tied together by a somewhat rustic yet upscale theme. As far as good, we were served strolling apps during the cocktail hour which were all tasty. For dinner we were served American fare family style - hake, short ribs, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. Everything was very good, especially in light of the fact that this was a catering hall/event space. The only drawbacks I could see were that there was no option for parking or valet, so you're on your own in that aspect. Also, I don't think Diety would be for everyone in terms of form or function. Each floor was somewhat small, so if you have a large event it wouldn't work; additionally, because the space is somewhat compartmentalized, we were hopping from floor to floor for each section of the wedding. If there are people with mobility issues this may not be the best place to host your event. Overall, though, I thought Diety put on a great wedding; the aesthetics are lovely (and moldable), the service was great, and the food was tasty. While not for everyone, this is definitely a solid option to host an event in Brooklyn. read more

Deity is a hidden Gem. It is a great event space that has lots of uses and I am just happy it still exists after all these years!

We got married on October 25, 2025, and choosing Deity was one of the best decisions we've ever made. We wanted our wedding to feel like Brooklyn - a little chic, a little charming, both unconventional and elegant - and Deity couldn't have been a more perfect vibe and atmosphere. The all-inclusive package made planning the whole event a piece of cake. Caio, the owner, was really good about communication through the entire process (which was almost 2 years for us!), and the planning meetings we had were thorough and super organized. With 105 guests, the space felt pleasantly full but never over crowded.  The food and drinks were delicious and abundant and the chef was great about working with our guests' allergies and dietary restrictions. The salmon and short rib were great entree choices, and we loved every single appetizer we picked for cocktail hour (we still dream about those potatoes). Dinner service was prompt, efficient, and we witnessed Caio checking in on all the tables to make sure they had enough to eat throughout the whole night. Deity did a great job of batch prepping drinks, they fulfilled our signature cocktail request perfectly, plus the watermelon margaritas that were waiting for us on the dance floor were strong and delicious!  Deity has the flow of weddings perfected. We both work in theater so our standards of good event planning are high, and Deity exceeded our expectations! At first glance, it may seem like a challenge to move a large number of guests between three different floors on a tight schedule, but the team manages it so well. They know exactly how to make each transition as smooth as possible, so no moment felt like people were being rushed into the next space or waiting too long for the next part of the night. They also did an excellent job helping with our older guests and guests with mobility issues - we had been nervous about the stairs between floors going in, but the staff was a huge help with making sure that everyone felt safe and comfortable traversing them.  We also highly recommend booking the getting ready suite. We did and it was so good having a home base for us to get ready, eat, have families and friends hang out, and take many photos before the ceremony started (plus there's a hot tub on the roof)! We felt incredibly well taken care of all day by Caio, Anastasia, and Matthew, and our guests have told us how great of an experience they had as well. We couldn't have been happier with our experience at Deity. The space is really eclectic in the best way. It balances elegance with a little Brooklyn quirk, especially in the cocktail hour room, which all of our guests loved. From start to finish, the planning process was simple and straightforward. You have one big meeting where everything gets laid out. After that, Anastasia, Caio, and the rest of the team were always quick to respond to emails when we needed to make adjustments. They were professional, organized, and made sure both we and our families felt taken care of throughout the day. Having almost everything in-house (e.g., everything less flowers, cake, photography) also made the whole process less stressful. Compared to other venues we looked at, Deity felt like a value and a way to make our guests feel like they were having an "authentic" NYC/Brooklyn wedding. The food and drinks were another highlight. The short rib was especially memorable, and the bar staff worked with us to create custom cocktails and pre-batch them so no one was stuck waiting in line. The DJ was flexible with our specific music tastes and vision for the evening and collaborated seamlessly when we brought in a drag queen for dinner, which turned into a huge hit with our guests. After paying the deposit and signing the contract for our wedding, he refused to honor the menu promised to us by his manager Melissa. He said some very unpleasant things to me over the phone and probably should not be dealing with the public. I have so much love for Anna, Cat, and the entire team at Deity-- they ensured that my daughter's bat mitzvah was truly a perfect night! From our early planning meetings with Anna, we knew we were in very good hands. I loved having an on-site event coordinator and also the freedom to manage many of the planning details myself. We loved all of the vendors Anna connected us with, especially the entertainment team at Alive Events. From the bat mitzvah ceremony on the top floor to the dance party in the cellar, every aspect of the night went so smoothly-- I truly felt like a guest at my own party. The adults loved cocktail hour in the lounge while the kids played games and danced downstairs. Our friends raved about food and the service. And our out of town guest loved the Brooklyn vibes. Plus the spaces are so well designed that you barely need decorations-- just a few flower vases and some balloons is all! Deity is a rare find, especially in BK where so many places are totally DIY. We had our wedding on May 5th 2024 and it was THE best day ever. We are so happy we chose Deity to host our special day. We decided to use the suite that they provide to get ready, we had access to it from 8am and our families brought food and drinks and we had breakfast together while everyone got ready, it was so much fun having our friends and family there, it is such a huge space it fit all of us very comfortably. I was very nervous but getting ready with my family and friends took all the nerves away, they provide two Bluetooth speakers so they boys listened to their music while the girls listened to our music. They day went so SMOOTH, there were no hiccups, everyone that works there made sure we had everything we needed and more. They somehow knew what we wanted before we said anything. The food!! Omg the food!! Everyone has not stopped raving about the food, they said it was the best meal they've had. The music, our Dj, Dj Ben Ha Meen had everyone on the dance floor until the very end, he played all the songs we asked and more. He was a great time. I was worried about the different floors, and that the older people would have a hard time going up or down but the staff made sure they were good and had a seat at all times. We had the best wedding experience possible with Deity. We were looking for a slightly less traditional set-up with a standing dinner and multiple spaces available to our guests throughout the night. We immediately fell in love with Deity's multi-level layout and charming vibes. The basement dance floor, the cocktail lounge, event space, and bride/groom suite created a dedicated space for every part of the event. Caio and his team were so fun to work with, it felt both professional and personal at every step along the way. They worked with us to find creative ways to use the space in order to accommodate our high guest count and it really felt like they believed in our vision and cared just as much as us about making it come to life. Communication leading up to the event was very smooth and the day of felt like a breeze. We had a disruption during our ceremony due to an unwell guest and the staff handled it like pros! Everyone bounced back even better afterwards and the energy was electric all night. All our guests loved the food and the space and the dance floor was absolutely incredible. DJ Trauma understood the vibe we wanted perfectly and kept the room bumping all night. Multiple guests asked us for his contact info afterwards! Deity does not look like much from the outside. When our Uber pulled up we all said it looked abandoned. Gated door, tiny sign, no real signs of life. But we said okay we're early we'll see what happens. Sure enough around 6 the place came alive for the reception we were attending. This place is not for those with mobility issues. I did not see an elevator anywhere, that's not to say one does not exist, but if there is one it's not in the most accessible location. Each floor has a restroom which was convenience. The speakeasy portion for cocktail hour was small but just the right size for the reception. Drinks were strong, bartenders were friendly, they even had coffee if you don't drink alcohol! The floor where we had dinner was narrow but fine for just eating and then going down to the cellar for the party portion of the reception. The cellar is incredible and the reason I ended up liking this place after being unsure about it at first. Only a few tables and chairs with a huge dance floor. Plenty of space to dance and enjoy yourself. We had a great time dancing the night away with friends while celebrating the newlyweds. The venue also offered to-go boxes for cake and cookies! On the way out there was a small table with favors. Very well-run and the staff keeps you informed along the way (go here for the bar, go here for dinner, go here to dance). From our first interaction the kindness from Caio, Anna, Anastasia and the rest of the Deity staff there was a sense of genuine kindness and that continued through the end of our wedding day and it meant the world to us. From touring the venue, to the communication about details, to helping organize and execute how our day flowed, to the AMAZING food we really can't thank them enough. We did a small, private wedding on the roof followed by a big party and it was the first they really ever did like that but they nailed it. The way they made sure it was personal and what we wanted was f***en incredible. The staff on the day of the wedding were incredible and made everyone feel so welcome. They made our day so special. These people care about the event but they care about the reasoning behind the event even more. Also. Chef James. Incredible. We've been to some weddings where the food is so average, but his food was raved about. Everyone told us that the food was the best at any wedding they've been to and we have to agree with them. We did multiple hor d'oeurves and a standing dinner and he crushed it. Also, they provided DJ Ben who has a meeting with you before about your vibe, song selection, etc. He crushed it. People said it was the most energetic dance floor they've been on Lastly, something personal about the owner, Caio. My wife's grandmother was 91 at the time of the wedding. We had the wedding on the rooftop that is up a spiral staircase. He personally helped her up and down the stairs, made sure she was fed, had a seat etc. He, and his staff, was laser focused on making sure she was accommodated the whole evening. Memories that will last a lifetime- our daughter's bat mitzvah reception at Deity! What a wonderful, special day and what a wonderful special team at Deity. We were fortunate enough to have Deity suggested to us as a great "one stop shop" by an event planner but they are much more than that- committed to making your day exactly how you want it to be! The level of care throughout both the planning process and on the day of the event were exceptional. The beautiful venue is laid out over three distinct spaces, each having a great Brooklyn vibe (exposed brick, great lighting, stained glass, greenery and dark woods): We used the bottom floor for dancing and where the kids immediately went for their own appropriate kid/ teen menu, while the adults were greeted on the main floor for cocktail hour with delicious passed hors d'ouvres and then the top floor was for the sit-down lunch (this floor is also typically used for ceremonies if having on-site). We loved the three separate areas, which not only gave a unique experience but also allowed the kids to be as loud as they wanted to be while the adults were able to enjoy and hear each other , and then to celebrate all together for dancing and dessert. We had done a tasting beforehand (they had mentioned most people do the tasting before a wedding but we wanted to as well and glad we did), enjoyed meeting Chef James and the bartender and the food was even more delicious on the big day! The staff and the owner, Caio, were very attentive. We used Alive Events for the music, photo booth, some swag and DJ, specifically Pat, who many people commented was fantastic (because he was!). Pat (and Alive Events) has done several events at Deity, so that can only enhance the seamless flow of the event. We chose to bring in flowers and used Zuzu's petals, as well as some pastries from Mia's Bakery and our favorite cake from Cousin John's bakery. Deity has a list of great vendors but will also happily work with yours. When the event was over the staff carefully packed everything up for us and came out to our car and helped load it up. (is this thing still on?) From the initial phases of wedding planning to fine-tuning logistics in advance through the day-of execution, we thoroughly enjoyed having our wedding at Deity. The idea of an all-inclusive wedding reception venue in Brooklyn appealed to us, and after watching the video on the website, we filed an inquiry to learn more. Shortly thereafter, we received a very detailed but easy-to-understand FAQ from Anna which featured transparent pricing and honestly answered most questions we had relating to event logistics and sample menus. We enjoyed the tour of Deity that Anna held for us, and talked though further details as to how our wedding day could be handled. Seeing the unique industrial chic aesthetic - modern but elegant - and the novel idea of having different parts of the night move throughout the different rooms to keep the party energy flowing really clicked with us. The space seemed like the right size for our wedding - we were estimating about 110-120 people - and the accommodations that could be made for attendees with mobility issues were also helpful. Deity was the first and only venue we toured, as we realized it was a perfect fit for us. We also appreciated having easy access to multiple transit options (as many of our guests were traveling to New York without cars) and a location that was easy to reach after the ceremony at our church located in another neighborhood of Brooklyn. Another facet that piqued our interest was the approved vendor list which helped us minimize having to search for vendors on our own (and they already knew how to work well with Deity). We eagerly returned to the venue for the menu tasting event and enjoyed being able to fine-tune both our food and beverage choices for our special day. It was also appreciated that the menu had a variety of flavors and cuisine styles to appeal to many different palettes, and Anna assured us that guests who had dietary restrictions would be taken care of accordingly. Everything was handled professionally, warmly, seamlessly, and genuinely; we didn't feel like it was a "business" but felt as if we were being treated like part of the Deity family. Loading in our various items on the day before our wedding such as the seating chart, photos, favors, and cookies, was handled quickly and efficiently; loading out on the night of went just as smoothly (everything was so neatly repackaged). On our wedding day, Anna was on-site to supervise and handle anything that came up - from helping Jennifer with an issue with her dress, to making sure that we both were hydrated, fed, and as calm as we could be (a wedding day can be a little stressful). Anna and her team went above and beyond, even paying attention to details that we didn't even think to account for, such as moving flower arrangements around. The DJ clicked immediately with the vibe of most of the people on the dance floor (who were primarily in their 30s and 40s) and all enjoyed the diverse mix of music we heard. At the same time, other guests who wanted a quieter time or just wanted to go talk for a while were able to hang out in the upstairs lounge but not feel left out from the party. Our guests informed us afterwards that they liked it for many of the same reasons we did - the menu, moving through the different rooms giving a flow of energy to the night, the unique aesthetic, and being able to spend time in the lounge or on the dancefloor later on. I have seen others give positive reviews but my experience here recently was not that good in terms of the food and the wait service. I went last Sunday for a Wedding for a family member. Everything went well until the Dinner portion where we had awful service and the food was not prepped well. The person who was in charge of the wait service freaked out when we had two additional guests (which is normal for a wedding) including accosting people at tables to give their names in a very confrontational, rude manner and then was telling patrons "We needed to be economical with our portions" with an angry sneer on her face that was borderline RBF Then when the food actually came, it was served cold/lukewarm and the portions were not enough even if there were less people attending as opposed to having two extra people. I normally don't give really negative reviews Iike this especially if there were other positives (DJ, the drinks were good, Bartenders were great) but this time and how bad the wait staff and food was really merited this. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about our wedding experience here. We got married a week ago and I'm still on cloud nine. The venue is beautiful and it's so nice to have everything happening in one building but still with a change of scenery. The roof is great for pictures and a first look, and the loft is beautiful with all the little lights. The basement makes the reception feel very separate in a good way, and I think all the changes in scenery made the day feel longer. The venue also feels very Brooklyn, which we loved. I will note the stairs to the basement reception space can be a bit of a challenge for older guests, but the staff was helpful in providing assistance and this didn't end up being a problem for our older guests, including one in a walker. There is a chairlift between the ground floor cocktail lounge and loft ceremony space, but if someone really can't navigate stairs at all, the reception space won't be accessible for them. It's so helpful to have everything included with the venue so you don't have to coordinate a bunch of vendors. We also had severe allergies that we had to accommodate for the groom and several guests, which Deity was incredibly understanding and accommodating of. The space is nice enough that you don't really need florals (aside from maybe a few things to decorate the geometric arch in the loft) or decor--the included linens look great and the included candles feel cozy and cohesive. It's also nice not to have to worry about tips for the staff, as it's all included in the total. The only thing to be aware of is the additional bar charge--it can get a bit pricey if you do a full open bar and cover that tab, but you can also opt for a cash bar and have your guests pay. The Deity team is so helpful and answered all of our questions beforehand with patience. The day of coordinators keep things running so smoothly throughout the day, and once we started I didn't feel like we had to be in charge of anything. Anna and Emily told us where to be, worked with our photographer so we could get all the shots we wanted, and would grab us if we were needed If it's in your budget I would recommend renting the bridal suite, because it's so helpful to be able to get ready at the venue and things feel less rushed. It's also gorgeous, the lighting is fantastic, and you can get some really great shots. The drinks were great and the food was excellent, and we loved that they set aside some time during cocktail hour for us to eat together, get some one-on-one time, and make sure we had all the hors d'oeuvres. Family style was great, so that everyone got to try both entree options. I just wish we could have taken home the leftovers, and that cocktail hour was like a half hour longer. Overall I would highly recommend this venue, as long as your guests can navigate stairs with some help. TL;DR: The inclusive nature of the venue alleviates a lot of the work you might otherwise have to do planning a wedding, and while it's not cheap I do think it helps the booking remain in your budget without costs ballooning out of control. We started with a heartfelt ceremony in the stunning Loft space, followed by a cocktail hour in the speakeasy-esque bar. The transition between spaces was effortless (which was our biggest concern with the multi-level venue), and our guests were in awe of the seamless coordination. The highlight of the evening was the reception in the Cellar, a hidden gem with its exposed brick walls and disco ball. It provided the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening of dancing. Another aspect that impressed us was the culinary experience at Deity. The food was absolutely divine! The in-house chef is incredibly talented and our guests raved about the delicious hors d'oeuvres and main courses. My Deity wedding was an absolute dream, and that is largely thanks to the amazing staff that made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. Planning a wedding in a pandemic is no easy task but Caio really worked with my husband and I to make sure it was an amazing day while keeping everyone's safety at utmost importance. We had frequent emails, phone calls, and meetings throughout the planning process to make sure no detail was left out and that everyone was being accommodated. On the day of, our coordinator Anna also went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were enjoying ourselves and absolutely mastered our schedule/ timeline. Our families are not easy people to keep on track but Anna did it all flawlessly! Deity is such an amazing venue in that the space is so versatile and diverse you feel like you're at a different venue with each floor. Thanks to the bridal suite, I didn't have to stress about where to get ready with my bridal party and then coordinate more travel in time for photos. The rooftop was great for cityscape photos and we even walked around the neighborhood for some great shots. The ceremony space was flipped for dinner and Deity staff made sure transitions to and from floors were seamless. Our guests loved having the lounge space open all night as well as a break from the dance floor. The food was phenomenal. Cocktail hour and dinner were knocked out of the park and our guests had nothing but amazing things to say about the food. Seriously, if we could get our hands on that BBQ chicken recipe we would. Our DJ Ben was also fantastic. One of our deciding factors in choosing Deity was that our package came with a DJ already and Ben did not miss. I've been a guest here for weddings and I was kind of underwhelmed. There are a lot of stairs which is fine if you're able-bodied but if you have older relatives with mobility issues, this can pose a problem for them. If it's cold or raining, if you have limited mobility, a disability or just high heels, you have to go OUTSIDE to get to the other part of the venue for dinner/dancing after cocktail hour. Wish there was more food. Pete and I were hungry - the cheese plate was OK but they should have put out something more substantial and in a bigger portion or refilled it. I liked a few things about this spot: The ceremony can be held on premise but not in the same room as a cocktail hour. The tree in the middle of the cocktail hour was nice and unique. Where to begin. Finding a venue for your wedding can be a stressful time. Finding the perfect place to celebrate one of the most important days of your life can be nerve wrecking. The moment we stepped into Deity; me and my wife instantly knew... This is where we wanted to have our wedding. It is just so unique. It is not your typical cookie cutter venue where everyone sits in the same room for hours on end. The different floors may seem unusual at first but seeing how the event folded we wouldn't do it any other way. The building has such history. It used to be a synagogue decades ago so the exposed brick is a huge highlight of its appeal. There is also a Bridal suite which is just impossible to describe. Once you see it you will know you definitely need to book it as well. Great for photos and guys once your girl sees she's going to want it so just go in knowing your gonna get it. The Lobby area where people wait before they go up into the ceremony is so beautiful. The lighting is so intimate. There is also a great tree that you can use (We used it to hang pictures of us since kids all the way to early photos of our relationship....its a cute idea...I know...your welcome). The rooftop also is awesome for pictures, it captures Brooklyn...all of it in its perfect picturesque views. We were worried about the food initially as well to but it was AMAZING. One of our main worries was that there wouldn't be enough of it or that it would be your typical wedding food. We even had several guests that needed Kosher meals and told us personally they were so grateful it wasn't just a typical airplane food for a kosher meal. Caio is so personable. When you get to meet him he treats you like family and honestly thats the vibe you get. We had several meetings with us where he told us over and over again: this is your special day and I want to make it EXACTLY how you envision it. If you had any special requirements you let me know and we will work with you. Caio also has a DJ he works with that was included in the package which was great, it helped us allocate funds elsewhere since we saved money on a DJ and let me tell you DJ Michael Dhundee did not disappoint. I am Puerto RIcan and israeli and my wife is Russian. Michael hopped on a call with us asked us to make a spotify list of what we typically liked so he could get a vibe on how he wanted to set up his playlist. Since he wasn't familiar with Russian Music or Israeli music for that matter he needed to figure out how he was going to navigate the complex transitions. He crushed it. The flow was perfect and everyone said the DJ was top notch. Having a day of coordinator like Anna was honestly one of the best highlights. The day can go quick and Anna was on top of everything with timing and where we needed to be. Caio is definitely the man with the vision, Anna is the woman who makes that vision happen. When we were worried about timing and where we were at in the night (as i said it can go fast haha) Anna calmed us down and reminded us we had "x" amount of minutes until "y" event. A the end of the night we even had an afterparty at the Bar next door called someday bar. Anna said if we wanted we could even get Pizza's as an after hours snack just in case people were still hungry. I honestly didn't think we needed it but my friends said as full as they were the pizza was a great last minute addition. Now i didn't have uber eats on hand. Anna said not to worry she would take care of it order it from her phone at 10:00 PM and get back to me when the time came. I just venmoed her what I owed her. This is just a small example of the attention to detail they put and how they made our lives easier. Also about that last minute audible. If you are thinking of having an after party....lets be honest you know you want to. There is a Bar literally right next door called someday bar. The bar is awesome and we touched base with them a few weeks before, they assured us they would stay open for us and help facilitate a great end of the night. Which they did. For all of these reasons and more (because I am sure im forgetting some) this is the place you want to have your wedding. We held our daughter's Bat Mitzvah at Deity and can't say enough wonderful things about Anna, Cat, and the entire Deity staff. Planning a big event with lots of moving parts can be stressful, but they made everything so easy and did everything they could to make my daughter's dream night come true. They were efficient, kind, responsive, reliable, easy going, fun ... everything you could ask for when planning an event. Our guests raved about the food and we loved the overall setup and how the evening flowed through the various spaces. My husband and I got married at Deity on 4/21 and it was amazing. From start to finish, it was such an easy process. Deity makes it so easy on the bride and groom. It also helps that their staff is awesome (shout out to Caio, Yulia, and James!). I also have to mention that compared to other Brooklyn venues, Deity is super affordable, especially since there are absolutely no hidden fees and they provide you with a day-of event coordinator. They also provide you with a list of preferred vendors, which we used, and they were all fantastic. From the moment I laid eyes on the venue, I knew I wanted to pick it. The venue is three floors, which I did think about before picking it, because I knew there would be older people attending the wedding. However, I overlooked that because I was so impressed with the suite and the ceremony/reception floor. The floor that the ceremony/reception takes place on is filled with stringing lights and candles. It was everything I imagined my wedding would look like. The ground floor is where the bar is and where the hors d'oeuvres are served. The lower level is where the dance floor is and where the cake cutting takes place. The suite is OMG gorgeous. You can rent it for an extra cost and in my honest opinion, it was absolutely worth it. The suite is where we did our pre-wedding photos. They also have a rooftop with a jacuzzi. I'm still dreaming about that suite. We had two meetings throughout the process, the initial one where we got a tour of the venue, and then a meeting after we booked it to go over the details and schedule of the day of the wedding. Everything went smoothly and as perfect as I could imagine. The food was probably the best wedding food I've ever had. Many of my guests told me the same thing! That was another reason we picked Deity. The food is served family-style which is different, but that makes it so much more convenient. That way, everyone gets to try a little bit of everything. We made a visit to Pino (Chef Jason's restaurant in Murray Hill) several months before the wedding, just to have a taste of the food, and we were pretty happy about it. We really enjoyed the shrimp ceviche (hors d'oeuvre) and the lemongrass chicken (entree) at the wedding reception. They even gave the bride and groom a little bit of private time to themselves and a giant portion of the hors d'oeuvres before joining the wedding guests which we appreciated. Also, I have to mention the DJ, Jamal. As soon as we spoke to him on the phone, we knew he would do a great job... and he did! Everyone was on the dance floor until the end of the night. The music was awesome and he is such a sweet person. The wedding day really does go by super fast. Try to enjoy it and let it all soak in! I constantly replay the wedding day in my head and I wish I could relive it. If I could go back in time, I would give myself a pat on the back and a big hug for picking Deity. Deity was the absolute best choice for our wedding venue. From our first communication with Anna the coordinator we knew it was the place for us. We loved that Deity was almost entirely all inclusive, We just needed to book our florist, photographer and cake/ desserts. We were relieved we did not have to worry about booking a DJ since it was also included at Deity. DJ Ben was great, exactly what we hoped for. Our guests are still raving about how great the food was. Unfortunately we hardly ate any of it, even though Anna and the staff arranged a platter of food for us to enjoy while we had a private moment after the ceremony. We were just too excited to eat, we so regret not just relaxing and sampling all of the amazing food. I couldn't have dreamed up a better wedding venue than Deity. The space is stunningly gorgeous and was perfectly sized for our 130-person guest count. Each level (the lounge, loft, and cellar) were expertly tailored to the events they hosted, and somehow comfortably accommodated all of our guests while still feeling cozy and intimate. The other aspects of the all-inclusive package were just as impressive - I don't know that I've ever had better food and drinks at a wedding, and DJ Ben kept the dance floor packed the whole night. But what really sets Deity apart is the service of their staff. Caio and his team do a fantastic job from your first venue tour to the final wedding sendoff. Anna prioritized my husband Luis and I in making sure that the day was moving smoothly and unfolding as we wanted it to. When COVID impacted a number of our guests being able to travel in for the wedding, Anna handled a fragile day with such care and patience. A really nice venue, but still a questionable location for throwing a pandemic-era wedding. I was overjoyed that my state made it off of Cuomo's coronavirus quarantine list in time for me to fly in for my friends' Brooklyn wedding. Intimate wedding was well done, with handsome upstairs function room and more whimsical downstairs lounge offering a memorable experience. Steps to prevent coronavirus included a temperature check at the door, extra masks, as well as two-foot spacing between ceremony seating. However, when it comes to it, the night had to include out-of-town people eating unmasked at an eight-top, as well as forty people drinking in a 30x30 enclosed space. Not exactly an outdoor venue, and it seemed one pre-symptomatic person away from becoming a superspreader event. Hopefully Deity and its Brooklyn neighbors survive the pandemic ; really want to see this place at it's best. read more

Looking back on our Wedding at Deity brings a smile to our face every single time we think about it. It was a perfect day filled with love and joy, with so much of that being made possible by the amazing staff at Deity. The moment we walked in we knew it was the perfect venue for our Brooklyn wedding. We met Caio at our first visit and knew we were going to be in great hands. The entire planning process from communication on the details leading up to the day, to the drop off of everything the day before - was all completely seamless and Caio and Anna were so supportive and helpful. Not only is Deity a beautiful venue, but having a multi-floored wedding provided unique and exciting energy at every step of the night. From the exposed brick, classic "Brooklyn under the stars" vibe in the reception room/dining room, to the magnificent tree that sits uniquely in the middle of the cocktail hour floor and plays nicely off of their octagonal bar, to the stunning rooftop arrangement with an in-ground hot tub, to the picturesque bridal suite that my bridal party spent the entire day getting ready in, to the dance floor, highlighted by their classic "Brooklyn Love" sign, disco ball, and full-sized mirror in the back, the entire venue screams one-of-a-kind. Within minutes of touring the venue, we knew we had to get married here. Food and Drink: The food at Deity was absolutely excellent. The hour d'ouevres were an absolute hit, and the staff did a great job of keeping things coming. Guests reported that this was one of the most filling and tasty cocktail hours they had ever had. The dinner was also exceptional, providing interesting yet classic options on all types of dinner dishes. Everyone was raving about the culinary experience from start to finish. To top it all off, Deity worked with us to create 3 craft "Cat Cocktails" that was a smash hit at the wedding. The drinks were prepared promptly, they were well-made, and the bar offers a wide array of drinks and brands to choose from. My now-husband and I had gotten discouraged by wedding planning since coordinating everything between vendors seemed really challenging and stressful, so we were really excited to find Deity when we searched for all inclusive wedding venues in NYC. From the beginning of wedding planning until the very last second of the big day, they have assisted me in having a wedding that I could have never imagined, I would be able to have. Being a recent graduate, and newly enrolled graduate student, my budget was insanely low and I was more than worried that I wouldn't be able to afford a venue like Deity however, Caio was gracious enough to understand and accommodate my needs. Deity was the venue that captured my heart for many years (prior to getting engaged). so the obvious thing to do right after my second half proposed was to contact Deity. As cliche as it may sound, I knew Deity was the one for me. The first time I stepped into Deity for a walk-through, my heart was full, and I felt like I was going to burst into tears. From the exposed brick walls, to the romantic lighting, and finally the ELEGANT bar, it was a venue that I could truly picture my wedding in. With all the beauty that Deity had to offer, we saved so much on wedding decor. What made everything even more simple is that Deity provides candles for the ceremony, and reception. Fast forward to wedding day, everything was perfect. Despite rain, and me being sick, Caio and his team took care of my husband and I. During first looks, theres a moment that I will never forget. I was just so happy and in disbelief that my husband and I were going to see each other for the first time and I began crying, I could not pull myself together and that's when Caio immediately grabbed a tissue and wiped my tears away. My husband and I got married at Deity on 3/30/18. In summary, we couldn't have been more thrilled with how everything turned out! To start, my husband & I live in California, so the search for a wedding venue on the east coast that would minimize how much we had to take care of from 3,000 miles away was a challenge. Our first interaction with Caio, the owner, was great. He was extremely transparent about what pricing would be like. The struggle with the majority of venues is that there are so many hidden fees between taxes, gratuity, etc., that it's hard to know exactly what you're paying. And this is why we appreciated Deity so much. No games, just concrete information. James took care of us throughout the process and the day of our wedding. He really made the day stress-free, and we were able to just enjoy ourselves and our guests. The food was excellent! My husband and I (and many of our guests) are vegan, and the chef was extremely accommodating and provided us with a meal that left us feeling satisfied. Our DJ was Jamal. He was very communicative and made sure to capture the vibe that we were going for and played everything we wanted to hear. My favorite part was that aside from the first dance and parent dances, there weren't any slow songs. He kept it upbeat and everyone danced all night long. Our guests are STILL raving about how fun it was! It's hard to detail every single bit, but I truly believe that with what you pay at Deity, you get a phenomenal value. We had THE most amazing wedding in September 2018 and give Deity ALL the credit. We cannot rave enough about this place. Caio and his team exceeded our highest expectations and we have Z-E-R-O regrets. From setting up our appointment to check out the venue, Haley and Caio were incredibly responsive and answered all of our questions thoughtfully & convincingly (and we had a lot of questions...). This was actually the only venue we checked out. We appreciated the all-inclusive concept and the fact that they were very transparent about their pricing. Is it the cheapest venue you'll find in the NYC area? No, but the quality of the experience (and therefore low stress level) makes the pricing totally worth every penny. 1. The service - Caio, Christian and Natalia were amazing. Their team is truly a well-oiled machine. The staff have been working with eachother and at the venue for years - this is very apparent (we've been to weddings where this is noticeably not the case aka they clearly don't care about the guests' experience). The Deity staff took care of us and our guests all night - our guests (including the bride's difficult-to-please mother) consistently commented that the staff was amazing, efficient and friendly. We were truly able to enjoy our own wedding. 2. The food - is amazing. Our guests consistently said it was some of the best wedding food they've had. They thought it was catered from a restaurant! You don't need to do the tasting (we didn't)...just order the NY Strip and Tuna - you won't regret it. 3. DJ Eno - honestly one of our biggest concerns was that we wouldn't be satisfied with the DJ Deity assigns us (and we'd be stuck with him/her). DJ Eno was the bomb. On our phone call, we had a hard time articulating what type of songs we wanted for the dance floor but he asked good questions and truly nailed it the night of. We had guests who didn't leave the dance floor the entire night! We would hire him again in a heartbeat. 4. The venue - we loved the unique look and it really embodies "Brooklyn." One thing we didn't initially love - the venue is separated by several floors and requires walking up and down flights of stairs (which we thought our guests would complain about). It ended up being a non-issue and people actually commented that they loved the flow of the entire night. One thing in particular we didn't like at first was that the dance floor is in the cellar, separate from the dining area (like most traditional weddings). However, this ended up being a HUGE hit. Our guests loved this unique feature and had a blast. Separately, the venue's string lights and the candles they provide are more than enough decor so we didn't do any floral arrangements (which saved us thousands of dollars). We just got rose petals for the tabletops and aisle, but think we could've even done without. 5.
