We found her portfolio online, and loved her editing style, so we set up a FaceTime. In our first call, she worked to understand our personalities and goals for the final product. It was immediately clear to us that we wanted her for our wedding. From then on, she demonstrated great communication which made the whole planning process simple, straight forward, and easy to execute for my wife and I. The moment she arrived on site with her team, they got to work and made us feel safe on our wedding day. Personally, I feel that taking photos can feel awkward under pressure, but Ting Yi completely relieved that pressure and made sure we got the perfect shots. During the bride-groom sessions she always created a comfortable, fun, natural environment. During group photos she made sure to keep everyone in check, which we told her was important for us considering we have a big family with certain people that don't play nice. For the videos, we loved the 1min trailer, 5min highlight, and documentary video. They brought a drone which got super cool shots, they had us mic'd up for important moments, and edited the final products to tell a beautiful story that lets us remember some of our favorite moments forever. I was fortunate enough to work with Chris during the planning phase, and there were a lot of emails and questions I had which he answered with patience and clarity. He really worked with us on pricing, and we found Mint to be the best option for us for more reasons than one. When we finally met Chris on our wedding day, he was really calm and easygoing and he worked unobtrusively alongside our photographer. He was there to capture all the special and important moments and paid great attention to detail. Most of the time, I didn't even realize he was there so it surprised me when we got our draft videos back within a few short weeks after our event, and saw how close he got during all the important and critical moments of the day. Overall, we are truly pleased with our experience with Mint and we think Chris is very professional and approachable, which are two of the best traits to find in a wedding cinematographer. We were able to edit our draft, working videos, and Chris really came through and delivered what we asked of him. There were some things I had wanted or wished were different, but we worked with the material we had and it turned out wonderfully. They were flexible with everything-- the time, the place, the ceremony. She has a huge packet of sample ceremonies, so we picked one and then swapped some more personal things in like our own vows and a reading we selected. During the ceremony, Judie spoke with such a joyful tone, I truly felt like she knew us and was so happy we were getting married. Liam is the photographer, and while he might seem a little shy at first, he is a BLAST to work with. I told him that we'd like nice, bright photos, and also expressed my concern regarding some ugly fence in the background. He really made everything work, and we had a great time during our one-hour photo shoot. We got 50 pictures back (less than a week later) and LOVE every single one of them. This is one of the more affordable studios in Brooklyn. It's a few blocks from the nearest station…read more So it's convenient. I rented the Daylight Studio. So my review is going to be on that. The door is hard to see, you have to pay attention to see the number. Once you get to the door, you ring the doorbell and Sterling will come down to get you. I booked this studio in the summer, and it was hot! I don't mean my photoshoot, the studio was burning up. It has a small air conditioning unit in the corner. They also have huge, bright windows with no curtains. It's good for lighting, not good for the temperature inside. The small AC unit does not do its job, obviously. Between looks, my models had to go near it and cool off. It's not a fun shoot if everyone is sweating. The windows, that I mentioned earlier, is big. It's also South Facing so you won't get much of the harsh sunlight except at certain times of the day. At the time I rented the studio, they didn't have black curtains. So if you wanted to kill some natural light, it would've been difficult. But their website said they have blackout curtains. So maybe you have to ask for them? At the back of the studio, they have some plants. I thought that was a nice touch. It can be used as an extra set. They have a nice Profoto with a big octobox on a huge stand that you can rent. You can rent additional strobes or other modifiers. You can also rent paper. I rented a white seamless paper, and they seem to just get a new roll for you. Despite the heat, their studio is pretty nice. It's 1000 sq feet, has a MUA table, a plain white wall, a wardrobe rack, V Flats, grip equipment, and even a computer you can play music on. Their bathroom was outside the studio and was a scary looking. Oh well. You can't have it all. Sterling was helpful and helped set up everything. I think for the price, it's a decent studio to rent. Be ready to brave the elements though. I wonder if they have a heater during the winter or would it be super-cold?
