Be forewarned - this is less of a review but a romance novel starring our photographer, Danny…read moreBergin of Chellise Michael Photography (CMP), as its main protagonist. In photographs I typically have either RBF or a double chin because I'm usually laughing. I also cringe at the standard posed wedding photography and knew right off the bat that it would be a mission to find a wedding photographer that would be up for the challenge. So if you're like me, you may dread the thought of choosing a wedding photographer. It was by chance that I came across CMP's photographs while browsing on Pinterest. They immediately caught my eye; they were editorial, intimate and full of personality. Bottom line - stunning. Fortunately CMP had one photographer available for our date -- Danny. We lucked out because he is not only extremely talented in his craft, but also a total gem of a person. The photographs from our engagement shoot (WHICH COMES WITH YOUR PACKAGE AND IS AN AMAZING BENEFIT OF CMP'S SERVICES) made it immediately clear that Danny has a superb eye and was able to capture our personality as a couple. I've been non-stop spamming friends and family with our wedding photographs since we've received them; and which Danny delivered in record time. I'm in complete awe of how Danny was able to capture the vibe of our wedding in such a natural way. It goes without saying that wedding photographs aren't just for the couple, but also for the friends and family. So I want to share some verbatim messages I received from our attendees (who include people who work in the fashion industry, my highly critical family and people who have gone to at least 8 weddings last year) which really underscore Danny's stellar photography skills: "HOLY $H!T YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS!! I'm obsessed with all of them!" "The photos really capture you guys" "I'm done. Unwell this aesthetic. who is this photographer?!" "Your photographer was on it! They did a really great job!" "This photographer is magic brah" Last but not least, I want to recognize qualities of CMP that while searching for a wedding photographer I had not recognized were absolutely essential until I saw them in action: (1) a commitment to easy scheduling for discussing your needs and dates and for the engagement shoot; (2) clear instructions and constant communication on when the photographs will be delivered, guides for the photo shoots and how to view your photos; (3) a photographer with great personality that puts everyone at ease; and (4) flexibility and ability to provide for their customer's needs and implement their customer's vision. All in all, due to Danny -- our knight in shining corduroy -- we will live happily ever after.

We are simply enthralled by the incredible artistry and creative narrative vision of Mike,…read moreChellise, and their team. Their ability to capture authenticity, beauty, meaning-- and even the sublime-- went way above and beyond any of our expectations. I was absolutely captivated by their portfolio-- the narrative, colors, composition, perspective. We were having a very small casual wedding, so I honestly wondered, would it still make sense to invest ourselves in photos? I am so glad that we did. I searched high and low online, but I kept coming back to their portfolio --beautiful yet edgy, current, and distinctive. After meeting with Mike at his Bushwick studio, we decided to go for it. I keep thinking of the word Zeitgeist (if that happens to mean something to you)-- the idea that art and culture are intertwined, that individuals and their works are products of their time and culture-- this is what you have with Mike & Chellise-- the ability not only to create beautiful amazing portraits and memories of important moments but also to be part of the artistic and inspired zeitgeist of Brooklyn/NY now. It's like you have the chance to be doing your band photoshoot, except that it happens to be your engagement photoshoot. My partner and I both didn't want traditional engagement photos-- we both love modern and contemporary art, cinema, and the eclectic visionaries who bring their own individual perspective to their work (Cindy Sherman, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Vito Acconci, Ryan Trecartin, Laurel Nakadate, to name a few). In particular, we enjoy the rich saturated hues and style of 1960s Italian (a la Dario Argento) and French New Wave cinema, so we wanted to recreate those moments in our portraits. Mike and Chellise and Kelli made it happen. And our portrait session photoshoot was as fun, memorable, and as exciting as our wedding itself... and the photos are simply incredible. Not only that, but they bring genuine positive and relaxed energy, which is really important, especially for the wedding day. Mike and his team are friendly, professional, timely, and super-efficient and effective. You could not ask for better event/portrait/wedding photographers. True talented artists.

His videos spoke to me and felt so different than a lot of other wedding videographers I looked into. Even when we jumped on our first call to see if we would be a fit, it was so easy to talk to him! We loved him right away and decided to move forward asap. Daniel was extremely helpful in providing insights outside of videography related things - he helped suggest other vendors who he trusted and helped plan our timeline and really went the extra mile. When our wedding was rolling around the corner, we met again a few times to finalize the specifics on our film. On the day of the wedding, Daniel was a true BOSS! Although we did not book photography through him, we ultimately wished we did. (I highly suggest doing this for anyone reading this. A seamless partnership where videographers and photographers have experience working together is crucial and 100% will make your special day flow better.) We valued Daniel so much because of his experience - he kept track of timelines as best as possible and knew how to command a crowd, in the most respectful way! After a few months of eager waiting, we finally received both our highlight film and feature film. I'm SO happy we went with both films. We shared the highlight film with many others, but saved the feature film for select family and friends, as it was longer. The film was everything we could've asked for, and more. He really took the feedback we shared to curate a work of art. HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking Daniel for your wedding day! He knows what he is doing and will make the day amazing - and then a few months later as you relive the day after watching your video, you'll know you made the right choice! Thank you so much, Daniel!!!

I expected completely different photos, since I was searching online to find someone who won't take ordinary photos, and I liked what I've seen on his website, but I got something completely opposite. I was sorry I engaged them because my photos were ordinary with no imagination at all. The reason I hired them is because I wanted artistic photos and not the photos like my aunt took them with my professional camera. All the time I was telling her where should we go and even told her to take photos while she was without any ideas. When you book this photographer I suggest that you make sure he will show up, because he ruined the best day of my life. If I knew I wouldn't hired him. Not to mention that when I asked him to explain everything, he just kept answering something completely not related to my questions. I liked maybe 10 photos from 400-500 and I hate to say but I don't like looking at my wedding photos, and all because he was so unfair to notice me prior to my wedding that the third party will come that day to take pictures. I couldn't react at that moment, because it was my wedding day and I didn't want to ruin it, but they did (Artlook - Michael and Victoria), and I would just like to "thank them for their professionalism!" This is not the way to do business, and this is just warning for someone who is thinking of hiring them. Advice: make sure they will show up!

Never having planned a wedding before, believe me, other vendors are not as attentive, on top of everything, professional, and controlled as Natural Expressions is. I know full well that this company offers an extraordinary experience. When we first talked to Frank on recommendation from a friend, I knew we needed to look no further. We had three options and Natural Expressions was the middle in terms of price but clearly on top in terms of service and professionalism. Anytime I needed something, Frank was there or a member of his staff, which was much appreciated. Far too often I was trying to track other vendors down to have even a short conversation, but never once did I feel that way with Frank, Telmo, or any other staff member. Whenever I called or emailed, I received a response within 24 hours. On the days leading up to the wedding Telmo reached out to review all information and put us at ease. On the day of the wedding Telmo and his assistant arrived early, set up and helped us get going. He even helped calm me down when my mom asked too many questions. hahah.
