I noticed a review that had a negative cost related comment about this photographer. 1st: You get what you pay for. If other photographers are far cheaper....get ready, you will look just as cheap. Lol. Plus I don't really think she is that expensive, and I'm not a rich chick! Worth every penny, all I'm saying. 2nd: this woman volunteers with an animal rescue group and spends countless hours photographing and documenting the critters for adoption. Without her many would never find homes....she does this all for free! This is not a money grubby type....this is a talented artist worth every penny, who has a giant heart. So imagine you are not only buying ridiculously gorgeous pics, you are also helping save sweet furry lives! You want cheap, go to Walmart. You want incredible, find Meredith Zinner. Aside from that...her ability to capture just the right pose, attitude, light, expression, etc is incredible. And as for personal insecurities, she reads those well too and specifically targets what you care about....instead of the typical, sure sure response you get from average types who dismiss your commentary. She is cool, caring, compassionate, understanding, clever, creative, wicked talented, and I only wish I could hire her more often. read more

I saw Meredith's work via a mutual friend and was instantly smitten. While it can be tough to tell the difference between a pretty photograph and a revealing portrait, the shot Meredith took captured the essence of my friend. It was warm, inviting, and totally characteristic. I feel the same way about her shots of me. Meredith walked me through the process and talked me off my ledge more than once. She encouraged me to meet her via Skype before setting up a session, provided a comprehensive (and totally delightful) preparation manual, spent 5+ hours on the shoot, and hooked me up with a great makeup artist, several locations, and a much-needed espresso break halfway through. She listened to what I hoped for and drew me out on a limb when necessary. She's also amazing in post-production, winnowing you down to ~100 of the best shots, which she provides in all formats via an on-line gallery and a DVD. For me, Meredith's culling gave me stressless choices between tons of great shots. Plus, she's immediately accessible via email whenever I've wanted to see other looks in a similar frame or had questions about rights, retouching, etc. She's a sterling photographer who really comes alongside her subjects. Another reviewer wrote, I don't even know where to start, and I feel the same! Meredith is amazing. She's a super talented photographer, yes, but also super talented at helping you feel beautiful and comfortable in front of the camera. She helped me pick out outfits for different looks, she had a badass makeup artist who made me look great, and she really captured "me" in just the way I wanted to be seen. Looking at the pictures between shots, I literally couldn't believe the photos were me. I looked good. I looked comfortable. I looked like the best version of me I've ever seen. Meredith is warm, genuine, kind and a delight to work with! I would highly recommend her again and again and again! Meredith was amazing with my finicky daughter (who is overcoming stranger anxiety) and made her feel comfortable and relaxed. Meredith is simply an amazing photographer and is wonderful to work with. She has been able to capture the essence of my two boys (ages 6 and 9) in a way that no other photographer (or us for that matter) have been able to replicate. Meredith Zinner is your go to person for photos! I did my first photo shoot with Meredith when I was 8 months pregnant. She made me feel completely comfortable and was able to capture amazingly beautiful shots of me and my big belly! When my son was born, the first person I thought to call was Meredith since I wanted to capture his early days the best way I knew how. Meredith spent the afternoon with us and took classic pictures of my son and me. I had a wonderful experience with Meredith. She took pictures of me and my Pomeranian that came out so incredibly vivid and colorful. She was able to capture my dog's many expressions and make me and my bff feel comfortable in front of the camera. She's very professional and does super high quality work. Meredith took photos of our family and I could not be happier with the photos she took. During the photo session she was very patient with our 6 month old son. He was having a really tough day yet she was still able to make him laugh for the photos. Normally I dread photo sessions but Meredith made me feel very comfortable. We used Meredith to photograph both our newborn girl and 2 year old toddler (yes we are very busy...) in Park Slope and she was wonderful. She immediately bonded with both our kids and the photos that came from them were even more gorgeous than expected.
