We thought we would be able to start the project right away, but decided to hold off while we saved up for it. Ed was very accomodating to us and Gill's waited until we were ready to start the project. We started the project about 2 weeks ago and began with the hardscaping. Gill's employees were at my house bright and early every morning and diligently worked until the project was done. Our project manager this time was Sean, and kept us informed with updates along the way. Mr. Gill also stopped by to introduce himself and thank us for his business. The project was completed last week while my husband and I were away in Colorado, and Ed sent us pictures via email to keep us apprised of how things were going and what the final product looked like. We are totally amazed. Our home looks like a different home! As with our past experience, we are beyond thrilled with the service we received from Gill's Landscaping. As a result of the superior service that we received from Gill's, we are switching to them for all of our landscaping services (fertilization program, cutting, sprinkler service). They are very competitive in pricing compared to our previous landscaping company and very accomodating to our needs! Despite my contract from last year citing an expectation for a 2% annual increase, I got a ~25% rate hike. The woman I worked with was not kind and not willing to help me understand where this came from. I ended up finding the owners email and was able to reach out to them to try to learn more and find a more reasonable solution, but even going over their new math, it still didn't make sense, and still had me over 20% higher than last year for the same work. They cited that I was charged incorrect last season (despite having their invoices with exact man-hour times spent and their own provided labor rate). Additionally, the new contract (which I did not sign) created new clauses in the fineprint to do price hikes in subsequent years without needing a reason. So disappointed, but I'm not comfortable going into contract with a company that doesn't honor their own contracts, hoping you won't notice.

After hearing about him through some neighbors, we gave Dom a call and scheduled some time for him to come discuss our ideas, likes, dislikes, etc. Not only was he the nicest guy imaginable, he was very thorough in finding out what we liked, going through photos of previous jobs and a catalog of plants that he thought would suit our taste. We talked for quite a while and he left, promising to return with sketches, pictures and a quote. He came back with exactly that. A diagram of both areas we wanted redone complete with not only what he picked out, but with some fantastic suggestions as well. We talked through everything, made some minor changes and at the end, VERY slightly adjusted the price (we ended up going with a few things that cost more than the original estimate). We talked it over and called him to let him know we were ready to go and he was there the next day with his crew completely transforming our house. In 3 days they've managed to completely change the way we look at our house through their work. What I loved the most was that Dom was there 80% of the time and made sure we loved everything he did. He planted a color plant we thought we wanted, we decided we hated it and he replaced 3 of them, free of charge. Truly just an honest hardworking guy with fair prices. I'd recommend him to anyone.

The site was left neat every evening. He always responded quickly to any of my communications. I was pleasantly surprised that where my lawn had been flattened out by their equipment, I was offered the choice of sod or seeding to replace that lawn section at no additional cost. We have been having water issues in our back and side yards. Our backyard has a pretty decent slope to it and the water would pool between our patio and playground. Connor came out and did a through inspection of the property and advised installing a catch basin in the back yard that would dump out into the street as well as a French drain to handle the soggy side yard. When we informed Connor that we'd be using him he told me he'd rethought some things about the project. Just the idea that he'd put additional thought into our situation before we'd signed a contract made me feel like he really cared about helping us. Throughout the project we kept remarking about how efficient and thorough his work was. Every day he cleaned up after himself and made sure any digging was filled back in. I've never hired someone who has worked as hard as Connor. I cannot say enough how grateful we were for his meticulousness and professionalism. A few days after all the pipes had been laid down we had a decent bout of rain in the morning. Usually this would mean a small pond in our backyard and our side yard would be marshland for days. We had no pooling in the backyard and when I checked the side yard at about 2 pm the ground was almost dry. I was hopeful that it would work but I was astonished at how well it worked.
