This was the best plate I've had in a 50 mile radius! Highly recommend, the servers were fast and courteous. read more

DeeZ Bar & Grill - Seafood Pasta - Fish & Chips Near Me - Qualicum Beach, British Columbia

We had made a reservation for 11 at noon. the service was super super slow. The manager didn't employ enough help so the cook couldn't cope. One of our friends had to leave after 1:00 we still had not received our food. One hour and half it took to be served. The food was good but not worth the waiting. read more

Surprisingly delightful! We went here and 4/4 of our meals were excellent. We had the bolognese which was 5/5 amazing. Tasted like grandma's recipe; rich and hearty. We also had wings (wow!) ceaser with Cajun chicken and a kids chicken meal. Everyone was happy and the service was friendly, attentive, and warm. Would recommend! read more

Well , we finally came back and had the two piece cod special. We brought four others with us and they had the Friday night special too. Take a look at the photo of the other daily specials too. If you are waiting or waiting for the others to finish the bathroom take a look at the flowers. See the hanging begonia basket. I am sorry I wrote this and didn't save the photo's. read more

Ok, driving into this town, I did not expect the food to be any good but it really was at DeeZ! The menu has a lot of options, from steak, German, Asian, Italian, Greek, burgers, salad, and fish and chips! I asked the waitress For her recommendation and ended up with a perfectly-seasoned pan-fried fish with a big ol' salad. It was exactly what I wanted and the fish was cooked to perfection. Their house red (a BC merlot) was surprisingly good also... one of the better reds I've had recently. The waitress left a carafe of water so I never had to wait for a refill. Absolutely no complaints besides they don't open early enough for me to have breakfast before I leave town tomorrow! read more

Went for their Sunday Brunch, it was relatively the basic scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausages, hash browns, some tomatoes with cheese on it i think, with fresh fruit and croissants. The food was fresh and i enjoyed the fruit platter, the bacon was overdone to my liking, but all in all it was good for $11.95-Canadian. The only issue was that the buffet was directly uncomfortably across the waitress station, no room for people who were awkwardly waiting in the hall(bar area) for the buffet. But will be back again for sure, waitress was spot on and attentive and the chef that cooked was pleasant as he refilled the steam table for the food. P.S. The food did not taste all the same(They used different grills for everything so it didn't have the same taste) Like Denny's or Smittys. read more

Their French toast is overwhelming and their coffee is solid. That's all you can ask for a long weekend camping breakfast and DeeZ delivered on both fronts. I just wish I was in town for one of their Thursday night Ladies Nights where I could have the chance to win "Best Dressed Lady" read more

DeeZ Bar & Grill - The French toast really is overwhelming, yet delicious. - Fish & Chips Near Me - Qualicum Beach, British Columbia

Really like this place food is always excellent My only complaint would be they always seem to be short staffed I feel for the servers as they all really try their best to keep on top of things but there is only so much they can do Thanks to the servers who keep smiling no matter how hectic! read more

Poor quality and overpriced food. Tacky interior tables painted taupe. Save your money and go to Kalvas, Bistro 649 or Blackbird Schnitzel House, read more

Decent bar food. Never disappointed but also never outstanding. It's now our goto for Fish and Chips

On vacation with my wife and 5 kids, (3 of em teenagers), and we stopped here on a whim as we were getting hungry. What a stroke of luck! This place was awesome! The server was very friendly and personable. I can't remember his name but he had a moustache that was curled up on the ends. The food was incredible! I mean it was just pub food, (chicken fingers and burgers), not generally all that difficult but the burger was easily one of the best I've had and the 2 girls that had chicken fingers just raved about them! They still bring it up a month later! The price was good too, nothing over $15. We fed 7 of us including 2 liquor drinks for the adults for around $140 which included a generous tip! If you're in Nanaimo, it's worth it to go a bit out of the way to check this place out! I should warn you though, the fries were mediocre. Lol read more

Wow I am so happy we found this place. Not only do they air your favorite sports, but they serve some of the best food we've had on the entire island. Get the eggs Benedict menu and you won't be let down. The GM, Trent was especially kind and helpful. He gave us so much insight as guest travelers and fellow mountain bikers on the best places to go. Then he proceeded to make phone calls to places on our behalf to book spots for us. Thank you team DeeZ for the amazing all-round experience. read more

Solid pub food, and a great experience to dine among and meet locals of Qualicum Beach/Bay. I'm always leery of ordering steak in a restaurant, since no one seems to be able to cook it to the correct temperature. It took a neighbourhood pub on Vancouver Island to get that right. The New York Steak came with tons of veggies (carrots, peas and beets) and was a huge portion for what we paid. Friendly staff, quick service and a cool atmosphere. DeeZ is a great local pub to hang out and meet locals! read more

The food was extremely good and the portion sizes--as Deb M. said--are enormous. Even better than this was the service. We were a party of seven helped by a very nice guy over by the fireplace. He traded stories with us about camping in the area and was always extremely courteous. I would go back to DeeZ without hesitation. read more

Stopped by here on chance as we were starving. Didn't have super high expectations but we were really wrong. We had the halibut fish and chips and they were my first time having halibut. It was amazing. I begged my bf to go back the next day but he was ready to move on. Had some fantastic Caesar's, the server made them herself based on our request and nailed it. We ate & chatted with the local motorcycle riding, bar flies who were on the patio with us. Everyone was so friendly. Our server was kind and very sweet, lady in her late 30s/40s, when she could see we didnt know what we were doing. I think she took pity on us. We really loved our lunch there. Large free parking lot across the street, added bonus. read more

I love DeeZ Bar & Grill. Fantastic food and drinks. The host was really friendly and I felt very welcomed.

Kind of a weird vibe. Mostly locals and biker wanna be's. The food and service were so so. Doubt we'll go back. Basic bar menu and poor layout read more

Ate breakfast twice and a late night meal once while staying in Qualicum Beach. The breakfasts were especially yummy and the waitresses were excellent - offering not only great food and service but also sharing tips with the tourists about where to go (and not go). Don't miss an opportunity to meet these great people AND get some really good food, too. BTW - they are the only place we found that was open after 8 pm in Qualicum Beach. THANK YOU, DeeZ!!!!! read more

Funny . . . the signage outside drew us in with "Mediterranean Monday" . . . . I was picturing a fresh sheet of entrees from cultures surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea. Turns out there was just one special - an Italian-inspired pasta dish. Good thing I found Beef Souvlaki on the menu as it satisfied my craving just the same. The accompanying Greek salad was fresh and generous, topped with a good amount of feta; The rice was flavourful and fluffy. Ron raved about the value, large size, taste and tenderness of the lamb shank right there and into the next day. A friendly pub atmosphere with attentive service and an extensive menu . . . . Disregard signage and head in . . . . read more

Comfortable, great service, very tasty food, big portions, reasonable prices, lots of choices on the menu. Went back for breakfast the next day and will be sure to go back every time we are in Qualicum Beach. read more

Probably great for locals, but they are not accommodating. Seems they are just popular since The Shady went downhill. Nothing special, should have found somewhere in Parksville read more

Never again. Never had such bad service before. Will not be going back. How hard is it to ask if we want drinks? Had to Get my own water. Then waited 20 minutes for the bill. Get better servers read more

I go here fairly regularly and do enjoy it when in the mood. There are many locals who love it here, and ti shows. The menu is large as are the portions, and the food is decent. They make a great Greek salad, good Dino Ribs, Souvlaki, and some other basics. It isn't fancy or a gastro pub by any means, but a good local watering hole with good food and better service! They have live music nights and it's family friendly. read more

Very disappointed. We were asked to leave after asking for 2 separate tables with a group larger than 6. The male working was very rude and disrespectful. He told us to leave. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Nice happening bar, good food, and servers that have been doing their job there since it opened, never had mediocre service, always top notch, best service in the Oceanside area read more

Delicious food and service. Our server, Ashley, was great. I'd definitely go again. I had the 6 oz steak. It was cooked perfectly. Relaxed atmosphere read more

Went there for dinner based on the 4 stars on Yelp as there are few restaurants in the area at 4 stars or above. The crab cakes were ok and came with a big salad. The calamari was very good but only had tzatziki sauce which lacked flavor. I had the halibut which was cooked fine but the sides were blah. My wife ordered the steak sandwich and wanted it rare. It came out well done. Why is it so hard for cooks to get a steak right??? Jesus we asked for rare and it was well done? Just walk over and give me the finger! I wouldn't come back. For $81 on us too we expected more. read more

This destination seems popular with locals. I'm not sure why. A bland and colourless interior bleeds into a bland offering of food. They seem chronically under staffed. Good location and lots of parking. read more

Delicious food, fast friendly service, inexpensive pricing. Would recommend coming, I'll be back

Higher end food. Great wings on Wednesdays. Prime rib on Fridays. Too quality service, esp. bartender. Definitely best food/service along the ocean front stretch but sadly missing an ocean view. read more

Absolute worst service I have ever received. Waitress ignored our table we had to find our own drinks. I had the buffet which was terrible microwave scrambled eggs and deep fried bacon and my husband wanted to order off the menu he had to go to bar to order because the waitress never showed up to our table until the bartender/manager told her about us. When if finally came out after everyone was done eating his egg whites were uncooked (slime) and he had to go find his own cutlery. The waitress brought them back out a second time the food looked awful again when we went to send it back the waitress actually cursed at us. The manager was unprofessional and could care less that we were leaving upset. When we expressed how we were upset and told us there's the door. read more

We stayed in Qualicum Beach and Deez was recommended to us by our motel staff. We ate a few meals there and every one was better than the last one. The service was second to none. The prices were very reasonable as well. Five thumbs up for DEEZ!! read more

We've had widely differing experiences at Deez over the years. Went tonight for fish & chip special. Both terribly overcooked, dried out, and the fish was 95% batter. Had the same meal 9 days ago and it was fine. We won't be back for a loooooong time, if ever. read more

I don't know how this place ever got 5 stars. Sitting on the patio is most unpleasant as smoking on the next patio makes it impossible to even taste the food. This is basically a bar with food and not a place to dine. read more
