I met David Blair of Dee's Flowers when I took on the position of Director of Program Ministries at First United Methodist Church of North Hollywood. Dee's Florist provided altar flowers each week. We hit it off right away because David is so incredibly personable and kind. Dee's flowers did a last minute order for my own personal birthday party. Centerpieces and balloons, they delivered and set up. When I walked into the space it was festive and lovely. The cost was very reasonable and the quality was so high. We recently renewed our vows for our 10 year anniversary. I immediately went to David and he was so EASY to work with. His door is always open and he has lots of ideas and options. We needed 3 arrangements for the church altar. Boutonnière, Mother's corsage, Bride bouquet. 12 centerpieces for the reception tables. 3 for the buffet. He asked what ideas I had and I told him "Celebration, Joy, Happiness, Embracing Life Colors!" 10 year wedding anniversary is TIN so I envisioned tin flower pails, which he found immediately and ordered. The colors were stunning and the quality was so high at such a reasonable cost. I was so thrilled with the results! The flowers were actually prettier for our renewal than our actual wedding a decade ago. I am writing this 14 days following our ceremony and I still have my bouquet and one centerpiece left. They look brilliant still. That proves the kinds of quality and care that David at Dee's Flowers provides. David loves what he does and his passion shows with everything he touches. This is a charming shop with an equally lovely owner. The premade holiday arrangements were adorable as wasthe additional Decore throughout this shop. I came in to order a fresh wreath, they were busy, it was the end of the day, but they promised me something beautiful by the following morning; and did they deliver! Im not sure what happened here but they should not have deceiving pictures on their website of flower arrangements that dont look anything like the ones theyll be making & delivering. I sent an $80 dollar arrangement to a family member on the East coast incl+ card ( bent) + balloon for $109+ and I would have gotten better results walking into a grocery store. You can literally get a dozen white roses at Trader Joes for less than $10! They will, no joke, look far better than what they threw together. Ugh. For the value & price it was ugly & Im still pissed looking at the pictures of what a crap job this was & how it was thrown together. Did they have a new person putting this arrangement together?! Would have been cool of they called and mentioned the substitution. I would have liked the opportunity to change arrangements to something that actually resembled the picture! It would be helpful to includes the number of flowers incl in the actual arrangement so you can actually compare value ( deluxe vs premium etc). read more

I can't say enough good things about David Blair / Dee's Flowers. He made my wedding absolutely exquisite, and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He truly is an artist. I was a bit concerned at first with my plan to only have personal flowers (bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages) and petals/simple rose arrangements for the tables at my wedding, but with the high-quality flowers David used and his AMAZING talent as an arranger, my garden wedding looked beautiful. I met with David at his shop twice before the big event. He was very thorough as we drew up the work order; he put multiple notes regarding my color and flower choices and had a lot of feedback and input regarding the inspiration photos I brought to him. The vases I used for the flower arrangements were bottles, not bud vases, and David was very communicative via email MONTHS before the wedding regarding my vase ideas and tracking down the proper vases to achieve the look we wanted. On my wedding day, David brought bouquets and flower arrangements that were to die for. He texted me a preview picture prior to the delivery, and the picture alone made me gasp; the bridal bouquet was so beautiful, and in-person, it completely took my breath away, as did everything he created. Probably won't be having a celebration of this magnitude for some time, but David, I will continue to sing your praises, and when I'm planning my baby shower down the road and need arrangements, or am sending someone flowers, I will definitely be reaching out! David was so inviting when I first met with him, I showed him pictures of my dream bouquets for my bridesmaids and of course mine. He told me that he could totally make it happen, I wanted ranunculus included into my flowers but unfortunately the month of my wedding they weren't available. He told me that he could still order them and if he could get enough for at least my bouquet he would make it happen. 2 days before my wedding he sent me an email saying "we got ranunculus!!" I was so excited and was so satisfied that he could get them for my bouquet and he was also able to include them in my bouts. I have already recommended Dee's flowers to a bunch of my friends that are getting married and would have it any other way. Wow, not sure who is handling the service there but was incredibly rude. Said they were literally down the street from where I was delivering, then said there was a $12.95 delivery charge. When I asked about, became extremely rude and then hung up. Disappointed. Great reviews and I am sure lovely flowers. We had to trust our florist enough to only meet with him two times before the wedding....with Dee's that wasn't a problem. Our flowers came out absolutely amazing! I can't even count how many people complimented my bouquet. Not only did David do the flowers for the bridal party but worked with me to design a custom centerpiece involving lanterns, lights, and weights to hold everything down. He even had an archway that was the perfect fit for our vintage theme! It was obvious that Dee's Flowers put care and pride into making our flowers gorgeous and vintage themed. Today was my second time using Dee's flowers. I never wait until the last minute to do anything but I wanted flowers as fresh as possible. I knew that by walking in on the morning of Mother's day that I was really asking for it, but I had a long drive and I don't really trust anyone else after many bad experiences. Not only were the flowers gorgeous, but my experience was AWESOME! It had been three years since I used Dee's flowers and when I walked in, I was greeted with a giant smile and he remembered me, where I worked, and EXACTLY what I had arranged last time and the occasion! Too me, this is GREAT service. The flowers are so fresh and gorgeous there and I asked for two small arrangements. They whipped them up in no time at all and they were just perfect. When I walked to the car my husband said, " wow, those are exactly what you wanted" and after I told him what a great experience I had he said, " yep, they were so cool to me too and I went in last minute". They are so personable and great listeners to what you are asking for and help guide you into something that you may not have chosen but love. How lucky I am to have them just steps from my house! This independently-owned flower shop has been in business near where I grew up for decades. The local ownership makes a real difference in the quality of both the products and services, when compared to mass-market online florist companies that seem like nothing more than brokers for cookie-cutter flower designs. I placed an online order from Dee's website for a "Designer's Choice" arrangement to be delivered to a relative for her school graduation. I noted a favorite color of the recipient in the order, but other than that detail, I left the arrangement design up to the florist. Also, I requested a delivery time range. Dee's did an outstanding job on everything! The flowers were fresh and vibrant (and included roses in the favorite color, which I wasn't expecting), and the arrangement was lovely and balanced--it was a real delight for the recipient. Delivery was within the time window I had requested, and I received e-mails both when the arrangement was ready (including a photo of the arrangement), and when the delivery was complete. It is rare to find a business that just gets it right. I don't often order flowers, but having confidence in Dee's based on my experience with the shop will lead me to order from it again. read more

David came highly recommended to me by a friend who had him do the floral arrangements for her wedding. My fiance and I met with him and felt really confident afterwards. He was really nice and easy to work with. He worked with our budget and made a lot of great suggestions. He took down lots of notes about details to include in the arrangements and since we had seen some of his other work, we were really excited for our day. I was really looking forward to what we had discussed and what he said he'd create--the details and embellishments for the bouquets and arrangements were going to set them apart from just being bunches of flowers. When our wedding day came, the flowers were fresh and beautiful. David and his staff set up in the ceremony room and afterwards moved everything to the reception room. There were, however, some issues. All the fine details we had discussed and he had noted on our invoice were not there. "Bling" on the bouquets and crystal prisms in the arrangements were nowhere to be found. We also paid for a toss bouquet that was alleged to be placed on the cake table, but the hotel staff never saw it and it never turned up. I unfortunately had to toss my sister's bouquet when the time came. After the event, I spoke to David about the lack of the details we had discussed and the missing bouquet. He apologized profusely and said he would happily issue us a credit for the mistakes. He really came across as sincere and I trusted that he felt bad for us being not completely satisfied. We touched base later on and I gave him my address so he could mail the check he promised. Weeks passed. I texted him, and he asked for my address once again. I sent it. More weeks passed and I heard nothing from him. I called his business line (disconnected). I e-mailed (no response). I sent him a message on Facebook (no reply). I sent him another text (nothing). The last straw was my husband and I writing a letter and snail-mailing it to his shop. We would have gone in person if we didn't live about 100 miles away from it. In the end, we never heard a word back from him, despite us reaching out in several ways. I can't come to any other conclusion other than he was over and done with us, despite our lack of satisfaction and his promise to make right what went wrong. I give him credit for the flowers themselves being fresh and beautiful and for setting up and cleaning up at the ceremony/reception. This would honestly be a five-star review were it not for his apologies that were not followed up with the promises he made. I also came to find that he had promised my friend a check for referring him, which she never got, despite her sending him her address as well. read more

I wanted to send my best friend flowers for her birthday. I live in Louisiana and she lives in L.A. I checked reviews and prices on Yelp! and decided on Dee's. I'm so glad I did! The man who answered the phone and took my order was friendly and accomodating, as I called at 1pm to get a same day delivery. They had no problems doing that, and I felt they were happy to do so. I was able to order and pay over the phone. Dee's also assured me the delivery would be in the late afternoon and that they would call me if there were any problems. It turned out that my BFF was not home for their delivery, so they promptly called me to let me know when the delivery would take place. They did not want to leave the arrangement due to the heat, and the possible deterioration of the flowers this would cause. As a customer, I really appreciate this! With floral delivery, you want to make sure that the flowers get delivered, in good condition, and at a decent time. To have a company call you and let you know exactly how that is going to happen, is so refreshing!! I would recommend Dee's simply based on their excellent customer service! read more

David was an angel with the best customer service I have ever received in my life. I called very last minute from NYC needing a local delivery to my grandmother who had just gotten out from surgery. David send her a beautiful arrangement that he designed with me over the phone. His delivery team had to make a few attempts to get the flowers to her since she was coming home later from the hospital than expected, but they got them to her just as she was returning home. When it came to finding the perfect florist for our wedding this past June, we looked at a LOT of different people. A lot. And wouldn't you know, after looking all over L.A., the florist 'closest' to where we lived turned out to be the very best! David over at Dee's Flowers is THE BEST florist; person; and now friend. He spent more time with us discussing what we wanted than all of the other florists combined. It was as if it was HIS wedding he was planning for! His designs were terrific -- and he made the experience so very comforting for us. Oh, yeah, and their prices are very, very reasonable!
