I ordered funeral flowers from Mariam's Flowers for a very special service -- our final goodbye to my dear aunt. When I arrived and saw the arrangement, my heart sank. The flowers looked old, wilted, and incomplete, with missing roses and a tired appearance as if they had already been used elsewhere. It was incredibly embarrassing in front of my family, especially since we had hoped to honor our aunt with something beautiful and respectful. What made this experience even worse was how I was treated afterward. Despite calling many times, the florist avoided my calls for almost a week. When she finally responded, instead of listening to my concerns, she belittled me, saying I "didn't know much about flowers" and suggested that I should "use another florist next time." She even said she would "make sure to remember my phone number." After 25 years in business, I would expect professionalism and compassion -- not arrogance and disrespect. I paid $150 plus tax via Venmo for an arrangement that looked like it didn't even cost a fraction of that. More than the money, it was the way she made me feel -- dismissed and disrespected -- during an already painful time that I'll never forget. When I called, I was very emotional, but Armine who was helping me was very professional, she listened what I want which was the bible, with a pink and purple flower arrangement. I also asked if it's possible to include butterflies on the arrangement pink or purple, Armine said she will tell Mariam so Mariam can arrange that. My husband and I had a very poor experience with Mariam's Flowers, and the owner just made it exponentially worse by responding to my husband's honest review with insults. My husband called Mariam's Flowers on Sunday, January 26th to order a funeral arrangement for Wednesday, January 29th. Whoever he spoke with quoted him $200 for a cross arrangement. He agreed with no negotiation whatsoever, and she proceeded to tell him that it would be a very small arrangement, and that "she doesn't want us to call the next day complaining about the size" when we never mentioned anything about size. That was the first sign of unprofessionalism and lack of basic customer service skills. Who prefaces a sale by warning their customer not to call and complain that it's small and they'll likely be unhappy? That's odd. If you have a paying customer, I would assume that you would give them their money's worth and not put a bad taste in their mouth before they've even hung up the phone. Fine, we made the mistake of still going through with the order. My husband sent the money and they confirmed receipt. The next day, January 27th, my husband receives a call saying that they wouldn't be able to do the arrangement, and that he would have to pay more money. Excuse me? If a price and arrangement has been agreed upon, even if the price has changed, it is common business practice to honor that price and keep your customers happy. We had been purchasing from Mariam's flowers for as long as I can remember, but unfortunately they lost multiple customers due to their lack of customer service and professionalism, especially during a time of grief. read more
