I took my truck to D for a steering rack almost 2 months ago. This would have been the 4th time I had to bring the truck back for half hearted work and janky parts. I was without my truck for weeks on multiple separate occasions. He finally just told me get it fixed elsewhere and that he would pay me back for the "work" he did. I honestly think he just doesn't know what he's doing. Never mind the fact he essentially left me without a truck for a month and never apologized once. For safety concerns and sake of time... I first called in because I needed to get my brakes done. I noticed the owner Chau is really responsive over the phone and wanted to address all concerns as quickly and completely as possible. I was able to schedule an appointment the same week. Meeting Chau, I noticed he has a "in a hurry to serve" attitude. He is constantly able to juggle running the shop, repairing cars, answering the phone and greeting and chatting with customers surprisingly well. After receiving my car back and driving it for the past couple months I can tell he did a great job with my brakes. Chau is super reliable and an honest mechanic I definitely recommend him. * I do recommend finding a coffee shop down the street to get a ride over to or getting picked up since the waiting room is not really set up to be a the most comfortable area. read more

just took my Ford F150 pick up truck for Diagnostic and repair. D did an excellent job of quickly diagnosing the problem and more importantly quickly repairing it. He is very knowledgeable efficient in his time and excellent customer service. The problem I had with my Ford is it was cranking so the battery was good the starter was good but it would not crank over and start. The diagnosis was quick and it was a burned out fuse and fuse socket. Quickly replace the fuse socket rewired it and had it fixed at the exact time he said he would do it. I will take my car and truck there as needed for repairs and even normal maintenance. read more

I have to say it's probably the most dishonest car shop ever. Brought my car for diagnostic after rebuilding the engine because car was sometimes overheating while being stopped. I was told my head gasket is blown which is not true at all. I brought my car to bunch of other car shops for more diagnostic (luckily those were free of cost) and none of them diagnosed head gasket. The cause of overheating was unplugged radiator fan. Be careful guys with scammers. I immediately got a 2500$ quote from this guy and most likely fake test results. read more

I used to go for couple places to repair problem with squeaking sound and my engine belt used to broke twice. Other services told me different stories. For example one told me that it's because my alternator, other told me that this is my pulley and that car is old so just stay with this problem or buy a new car. And only dee's guys told me truth, and help me to fix my problem so my belt will not be broken again and I don't hear any more squeaking nose. I like how this guy do his job, I like he doesn't try rip me. And price is fear. I recently had a bad experience dealing with this business and owner. I would highly recommend not engaging in business with this mechanic shop and owner. I had arrived at the shop at 10 am with a communicated time to pick my car up at noon. At noon I made my initial contact, I had called for 2 hours and not gotten through. Every time I called it went to voicemail and I left three voicemails with no return call. It was also during the work day so the lack of communication and planning was getting on my nerves. I finally had a friend call with a different number thinking he was screening my calls and on the first ring the owner answered. He said my car was ready and I said I would be there in 10 minutes. When I arrived he was nowhere to be found. I waited an additional 15 minutes and then noticed my car was sitting in the parking lot with the top down and keys in the ignition so any person could have an opportunity to take my car. I was so mad I decided to take my car and wait for a bill to arrive in the mail. Six days later I received a call from a police officer that the owner was pressing charges for theft. Note, the owner was paid in full before the police called me via auto charge from my account. I asked the owner why he never called me before making a police report and he said I stole from him. I can not take something that I already own (my car). On top of the police calling me I then reached out to pay him for the service for $160. I then looked at my bank account and noticed the owner charged me twice for the service. Now I had to deal with getting the return of one of the charges and no apology for charging me twice or calling the police. Do not bring your car here unless you have time to kill with no communication or are open to the idea of bad business ethics with potential for a police investigator surprise call. read more

But sadly, that's average these days, though it's only a 30 minute to 1 hour process. I'd take my car here again. So far they've been honest with me, thorough and professional. read more

Just finished a smog check with this guy and I have to say he's damn fast. Probably 20mins tops is all it took from the moment I walked into the store and the moment I drove away. Fast, friendly, and STAR certified I'm coming back here for my next smog check. Fun fact! It turns out I left like $20 cash in my cup holder by accident and it was still there when I can back! I've been coming to Dee's for more than 5 years now. Chaus, the owner/manager, is always straight to the point. He is a man of few words. I've price compared in the past and Chaus' price has always been less. His assistant has always been super friendly and helpful too. No question too dumb - and always straight to the point. I'm a little appalled by what Chris H. wrote in his review. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion I guess. Chris, I presume you drive your car every day. You come in for and request a tire rotation but you are unaware of the condition of your tires? Your supposed electrical issue was actually the need of a new battery? And I don't know how it all went down. Did you sit there and wait or did you walk somewhere? You requested a tire rotation - should they have not rotated your tires? How much do you think a battery cost? $200 for a new battery, tire rotation, break inspection, and oil change ... sounds like a good deal to me. How much do you think it should cost? Have you priced batteries for your car? Anyways, your review just doesn't mesh with my over 5 years of experience with Dee's. Obviously, everyone will have a different opinion. If you're reading this ... I suggest going to Dee's. Check your expectations, get a quote, and then decide. If you're serious about taking care of your car, don't want to go to The Dealership, and know that maintenance is an integral part of car ownership, Dee's will leave you confident that you're car is well taken care of. read more

I'd gotten good service before on two vehicles. This guy is right next to my mechanic. Most recently I took one of those vehicles and he wouldn't smog it because the check engine light was on. The IMA system on this hybrid was not functioning, but the car ran fine and I'm sure it had no excessive emissions. Instead of telling me that he couldn't test it, he charged me as if I had tested it. I won't go back there again read more

Worked on my vehicle before and was satisfied with the service. This time I had buyers remorse. Was told my window needed a window motor/regulator assembly for functionality. In the end I was told not to roll my window down for my least 2 months. Hopefully the sun will bake the dent in the door so your window can function properly. Holy crap! read more

Poor customer service. Not even sure how honest/ethical they were. Said they did not run smog check because of a modification. Said they'd change out part for $20 extra. Then said bad news because the car battery was dead. Said car didn't pass and needed to be driven 50 miles to reset. Car battery was never dead. They disconnected and had run test first time although they said no they did not run it thus resulting in the need to drive an additional 50 miles and return for recheck. We know this because we took it directly to another smog shop in Costa Mesa and he showed us where paperwork was inaccurate vs what we were told. It did pass! Also, owner was very difficult to understand, would walk away mid-conversation, and was very dismissive when you would ask questions. Will never recommend or return to this establishment. read more

I'm kind of conflicted on leaving a review, this place was fine for my wife's car on our first visit, but with my Mercedes I just bought , he said it has no compression and needs a new motor, I took it to the Mercedes guy two doors away and there was no problem with compression and it was just a computer issue, and for A small service fee the Benz guy fixed it good as new, i'm sure this was a rare miss for the Dees guy, but changing out the motor is kind of a big miss step, read more
