Perusing the menu a few days prior to my reservation, I knew I was going to be in for a treat. If you take a look at just the cocktail list alone, you will realize this is a unique place. While Greenwood had great drinks, Deer Park's cocktails are amazing. I had the Last Word and Mezcal Negroni. Both were well balanced and served in the proper glassware. If you prefer wine, you will find a nice selection to choose from. Our feast: Roasted carrots - they were the perfect consistency of tender and firm, served with delicious orange and vanilla reduction Endive Waldorf - modern Waldorf, with pickled celery pieces; I had some leftover and it was wonderful even the next day Branzino - tender white fish cooked nicely Sundae and a Chocolate mousse - both deserts were nice but the mousse was superior Service: We were greeted by lovely ladies at the host stand. Our waiter Austin was friendly, prompt, and provided informed recommendations. The valet is a nice touch, as parking around the restaurant is limited. We will be back for more

Went last night for an early Sunday dinner and had an amazing experience both food, wise and people watching! They have a special for the first hour and a half that they are open on Sunday where you can get four courses for $38 per person as long as you choose the same items. We got the artichoke appetizer, the endive salad, the salmon and the chocolate mousse. Everything was outstanding, except for the endive salad, which you have to love bitter lettuce to really enjoy. We will definitely be back.

We had an early reservation tonight. We decided to sit at the bar. Omar and Gio made us a couple of great cocktails. Hubby had Todd's martini and I had the spicy cosmo. The cocktail list is amazing. I will be sure to try them all. My cosmo was made with homemade cranberry juice. Spicy and fresh! Hubby and I shared the crab salad. It was light, fresh, with an Asian dressing. The chili's gave it a kick. Hubby had the halibut. It was cooked perfectly with a unique sauce and topped with arugula salad. I had the branzino. Again, cooked perfectly. Crisp skin, excellent chimichurri sauce, topped with pea tips salad. So good! We also had the fries. They are chunky cut crispy bits of heaven. So much to love about this new place in Highwood. We will definitely be back!!!!

Took the metra up from downtown Chicago and the journey was worth every minute! Our server Leo was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I started with a Hugo spritz which was refreshing and crisp while my brother got an IPA and my mom a glass of Sancerre. I wish we came with a larger group because every starter sounded delicious. The star of the show was the artichokes and the Branzino. Not pictured was the delicious burger that had these perfectly crisp but super thick cut fries. Great new neighborhood suburb spot that holds up to all the competitive city restaurants I am used to. Definitely will be making the journey up north more often just for Deere Park!

We had a reservation at 5PM and from the moment we walked through the doors, we knew this was going to be a memorable evening. Deere Park is a stunning transformation of what was formerly Greenwood American Kitchen. The building itself is a piece of architectural art--outside, it features striking modern elements with raw concrete, clean hard lines, and beautiful natural timber that give it a minimalist yet grounded presence. Step inside, and the contrast is just as impressive. The interior softens into a refined palette of greens, browns, and greys that create a calming, intimate space perfect for a slow evening of good food and even better conversation. Now, I almost don't want to share this pro tip--but here it is: our favorite spot is the cozy high-top that seats two. It's perfect for date night or celebrating a special occasion. Tucked in with a panoramic view of the beautifully designed dining room, just steps from the bar, it's the ideal perch to enjoy the vibe and get a little lost in your own world. A special shoutout to Omar, who made our first visit to Deere Park absolutely unforgettable. From the moment he greeted us, it felt like a favorite uncle welcoming you into his home. He was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and attentive--guiding us through the updated menu and offering thoughtful recommendations. My wife loved the fennel chicken, which was aromatic and tender. I ordered the seared tuna, which was cooked perfectly and seasoned with precision. And the lobster dumplings? Phenomenal. A must-order dish. Dessert was the perfect closing note. The blackberry sorbet was bright, refreshing, and exactly what we needed to cleanse the palate. It's light, sweet, shareable, and a must-have--so save room. From the warm welcome at the hostess stand to the seamless service throughout dinner, the entire team at Deere Park impressed us. We're already looking forward to coming back--and next time, we're bringing our family and friends to experience this special place for themselves. Highwood, you've got something truly special here.

Our large party was present, and there was an honest human error where a card was swapped due to the cards being indistinguishable in color and wear. Upon realizing the mistake, we immediately contacted our friend who had just boarded the Metra to Ravenswood (45 minute trip). We were in the process of coordinating a meeting point just two minutes down the track to return the card. Throughout this, the owner was helpful, calm, and clearly trying to facilitate a resolution. While we were doing our best to fix the error, the other patron (Ryan J Pollyea) and his wife, Beth arrived and chose a path of unnecessary aggression. Instead of working with us, the wife began hurling insults, using slurs toward the owner, and personally attacking members of our group. Even when we offered to go retrieve the card ourselves to save everyone time, the hostility continued, including vulgar gestures toward other patrons on the patio. At this point, the woman with Ryan began flipping off everyone on the patio with her middle finger and yelling like a child. We successfully returned the card to the business shortly after. This could have been a five-minute conversation, but it was turned into a headache by the other party's behavior. The owner's professionalism during that interaction was commendable. Maybe next time Ryan and his wife, Erin Doniger Pollyea can chill and things will work out in the end!

The guy left with my card and the person working - who said he's actually the owner - didn't seem too fazed by it and really struggled to figure out what to do, even bringing other customers into it who were a bit over the top. Something like this can't happen every time, but for us when it happened it wasn't even that crowded. It was so weird, as was the reaction. Try the place at your own expense. Check out their to go stuff instead maybe.

A lounge with a wall of vinyl that you can select from and have the proprietor play for you is just a really cool idea and I'm amazed that more places don't offer this type of nostalgia. There is a tiny bar up at the front that the owner sells water, sodas (bottles and cans) and alcohol. There is a menu of drinks available that the owner can make for you or that he has available in bottles and cans. There is no food available, but you are allowed to bring in your own. There is a small private room to set up a table of food, place some tabletop games and listen to the music, host a meeting, have small gatherings or other type of event. They do offer different events in the main room and for the birthday I attended there; karaoke was then offered later that night. It seems there are some regulars who turn out for that so it's definitely a great neighborhood spot for regulars and newcomers alike. They also offer some board games and party games to make the your time there a lot more enjoyable with fun games, great music, and good vibes. I can't wait to visit again.

I ordered the Tinto de Verano, and it was really good. It was a bit strong and reminded me of a sangria. For tapas, we got the #21 shrimp dish, which was packed with flavor. The combination of sauces and spices paired perfectly with the shrimp. We also ordered the #35 calamari, which was equally delicious. The calamari was light and airy, and the accompanying sauces added even more flavor. We also shared the patatas bravas, which were crispy and had a nice little kick to them. Overall, the food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was really enjoyable. I'd definitely come back to try more dishes!

So we came here on a random Friday night to test our luck to get a table at 7 o'clock for two people. We got lucky and got to sit inside because that's where we wanted to sit although they do have sidewalk or outdoor seating as well. I thought sitting inside would be cooler, but I was wrong as all the doors and windows were open and I don't believe the AC was on at all. Well, the menu is pretty extensive. I will say that a vegetarian could definitely eat here as well as anyone else. This is our first visit here and as you can tell from the photos ordered quite a bit of food. And typical top of style the portions are pretty small, but they are meant to be shared. It was actually too much food for two people who were already hungry. Some of the standouts were definitely the meatballs and the salad salads. The jamon iberico was absolutely incredible. Not pictured was the picture of sangria we ordered. We got the rosé and to be quite honest with all of the heat. It actually watered down way too quickly. And it also came in a plastic picture, which was a bit of a turn off. The shrimp with garlic was good, but the garlic was hard to taste because it was also covered or doused in a lot of tomato base or tomato sauce. I was really looking forward to a very clear buttery or olive oil sauce that was saturated with garlic. The mushrooms were OK as well, but again too much tomato in this dish that I'm not used to. The potatoes were also very tasty and well seasoned, and the sauce on it was just right. I think this is a good option for people who want top us in the suburbs however, I will say that I hope they do some tweaking to the recipes as well so that they have something that truly makes them stand out and unique.
