Less than two months later we got into a roll over accident due to the trailer brakes failing. The job was overpriced to begin with, but I agreed to the price anyway due to convenience and the price kept going up every phone call I got while my trailer was with them. They already had the trailer so it cost my business less to have it done while there than to pick it up and take it elsewhere. During the accident my wife was 8.5 months pregnant and was forced into early pre-eclampsia labor due to the increased blood pressure from the accident. We did have another trailer repair company come out to diagnose the trailer which revealed that three out of four brakes when fully engaged were able to rotate just by a light kick to the tires. When I notified them that our lawyers and auto insurance would be in touch and I believe Mitch is the name of the gentleman that called me back, he was only worried about the name of the trailer repair company that was coming out to do the diagnostics and had no questions about our well being. My wife and I are both still going through multiple types of medical care facilities and haven't been contacted with any regard to our well being by anyone other than Parker trailers liability insurance company. Robert quoted an amount of $5400 to revamp the system and to install two new awnings. After 18 unanswered phone calls and several visits to the shop, we were finally contacted and told it was ready. When we showed up to retrieve the camper, we were shocked to discover that the new invoice was for a total of over $13,000. None of this was ever presented for our approval.
