Just paid a visit to Deep City as it was not around the last time we were in town. We are avid Foam Brewers enthusiasts and so when we saw this place, we had to check it out. The food was good but it wasn't anything outstanding. They obviously provide more options than Foam has had in the past since they generally only offered charcuterie plates. It is a nice change. The food was good but what shined for us was the beer selections available. The beer offerings were completely different from what Foam had next door. They offered bottles as well to share and beer options from other breweries. Our waiter was super knowledgeable and a pleasure to speak with him about Foam, Burlington and good beer in general! We will definitely be back, as the overall experience was worthy of another visit. read more

Had a nice brunch here today. Everyone's food was great. Seems like a talented chef was in the kitchen. Service was very good too. Would return. read more

A warm and welcoming setting. Greeted by friendly staff. A group of 6 were seated right away. Just a few inconsistencies. Never getting our drinks at the same time, forgetting things we ordered, and meals not coming out all together. Food was good though. I liked that they didn't get the steaks wrong at all that we all ordered a different way. Would recommend. read more

Had a fantastic meal at Deep City during a recent visit to Burlington! I only wish I hadn't been rushing to catch a flight so I could've relaxed and enjoyed my meal more. Probably my favorite thing we ordered was the Mac and cheese, although the vegan poutine was a close second and actually the reason we decided to give Deep City a try. Both dishes came out hot and delicious, I couldn't believe the poutine was vegan. Also enjoyed the beet salad although I was surprised it was a warm dish it was still really flavorful and beets were perfectly cooked. Service was great, I was surprised to get a table without a reservation as this place was bustling on a Sunday night. The atmosphere inside was adorable and had great lighting and their outdoor seating also looked lovely. Would definitely return next time I'm in Burlington! read more

Easily my favorite restaurant in Burlington. They constantly have different chefs coming in and serving special new entrees while still keeping their base menu. I love this because I can always come and get the classic burger (best burger I've ever had, amazing house made pickles) or try something brand new and super unique! Fantastic cocktails and fun + interesting beers from Foam Brewers right next door. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, they have GF and DF options and are knowledgeable about celiac disease. Great atmosphere, perfect place for both a date or a large party of people. Outdoor seating options and beautiful lake front view! read more

Oh wow! Visiting Burlington, and I wanted to try a local brew so started at Foam and ended up here with my 16yo. She picked the carrots and we both were interested in the fried chicken sandwich, so we split them...and OH WOW! The roasted carrots with curry and nuts were unbelievable - and she isn't a huge veggie-lover like me. The chicken is breaded in cornflakes (we asked) and marinated in secret sauce, and the results are heaven on brioche with the freshest pickles and more wonderful that I don't remember. Top it off with an amazing Foam brew and we enjoyed a memorable meal, crowning a fantastic culinary day in Vermont. read more

The service here is positive atmosphere. The food, speed, and quality of the food is amazing. I ordered the grilled salmon and it's amazing and watering. I would recommend to reserve a table for any party and enjoy your dinner here because you have an excellent time and service. read more

Food was fine. We ordered the Caesar salad and it was a little lackluster with too little dressing. The other stuff coming out of the kitchen looked much better. The service is really the reason for the low rating. We sat at the bar and it took 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us, and once we ordered food (which was just two salads), it took another 45 minutes for it to arrive. I get that it was a busy night but that long of a time does seem a bit ridiculous. We were actually on the verge of just paying for our drinks and leaving when the salads came. If you're not in any kind of rush (our parking meter was going to expire), I'm sure this place is as great as the other reviews make it seem. Just don't order the salad! read more

Had a great time while visiting our daughter in Burlington- highly recommend! Was nice to be able to grab a beer in the brewery side while waiting for our table- we shared all the food we got- poutine , chicken sandwiches, brisket, Mac & cheese, elote dip... we will be back for sure read more

It pains me to write a 1-star review, as I know they are trying hard, but this was just awful on multiple fronts. I will say the wait staff were friendly and helpful, and clearly rushed off their feet. It was also a busy Saturday night. We waited 90 minutes for food. One of our party had allergies and the menu was very limited for that. They ordered a salad with dressing on the side. The meals were served and the salad was missing. It arrived over 10 minutes later an was a bowl of lettuce drenched in oil. I ordered the Cubano and was up all night being ill (I did not have anything else to eat that day that could have caused that). Not one person around our table remarked that their food was good. Will not return. read more

absolute ripper of a spot staff: lovely food: scrumptious vibes: immaculate if you're like me and never knew where Foam was, this is the place for you. seriously tho, this place slaps and i'll be back. my meal wasn't super representative of their menu but my tablemates loved their Sandos and everything the staff pulled out of the kitchen looked amazing. price is high but worth it for the quality/enviroment. staff was fun too, i'm one of those annoying white guys who loves to be goofy with the waitstaff and our waiter was very sweet. i'll definitely be coming back here, the jerk chicken sandwich looks unreal. -good use of hardwood -close to the water -best donut in burlington by a mile read more

I was so excited for the Vegan Benny since no one else in the Burlington area serves it for brunch. Unfortunately my excitement turned to disappointment. The tofu and hollandaise were passable but the seitan was so mushy it was inedible and the vinegar collard greens were a weird flavor to have on the dish. The very crunchy focaccia was also a complete miss. Vegans skip this dish and save $16. Deep city, google a recipe for vegan Benny please. This dish was a disservice to anyone trying vegan for the first time. read more

Do yourself a favor and come get dinner and drinks during sunset here. It's absolutely gorgeous out on the patio, with a tree line that helps the sun stay out of your eyes pretty well. The food and drinks are great. Beer from Foam Brewers next door! I recommend the Onion Dip if it's available, and definitely the S'mores Cake. read more

Stopped in after being redirected from Foam Brewers. It is their partner restaurant. Foam Brewers beers are featured here along with "guest" brews. I had the Jerk Chicken sandwich and my wife had the Farmhouse Salad with chicken added. If you are accustomed to getting fries automatically as a side... you have to order them separately. I just had the sandwich and I felt satisfied. The food was good. Service was friendly. Very cool interior and relaxing patio. The beer is the anchor here. Foam Brewers is right next door. I ordered my cans online as I sat and ate then picked them up after our meal. read more

What a lovely place. The simple decor of blond wood tables with black hardware gives this a modern vibe and fresh irises on the tables adds charm. Next door to and associated with foam brewing, this is a gem of a restaurant. The menu hs something for vegans as well as carnivores. We started with the kale salad -salads come in full and 1/2 portions. The dressing was tangy and a few slices of watermelon radish and pepitas polished this off well. We then had the root veggie curry and the calabaza-which is roasted acorn squash with a tasty black bean purée.. Both were outstanding-simply wonderful. This place makes veggies sing! We then tried the mussels-they were plump and juicy but the broth was a little bland. For dessert we had the blueberry lemon cake which was super moist and served with a lovely ice cream and candied lemon peel. We also tried two of the beers brewed by the neighboring Foam Brewing and they were a nice complement to our meal. Our server, Izzy, was also great! read more

Everything is great from the service to the beer to 'most' of the food. Just bring back the smash burger, it's was incredible. I know people think the smash burger is played out but it's popular for a reason. The brisket burger paled in comparison. It was salty, dry and just not good, especially when compared to its predecessor. Do the right thing. read more

We loved our meal at Deep City! We had the chicken sandwich, the burger, and the heirloom tomato salad. All three dishes were excellent, the salad especially so. The drinks and food were well-priced, especially given comparable places in the area. The interior of the restaurant had a bright, clean, farmhouse-chic vibe. Indoor and outdoor seating were both available, and the restaurant is located close to the Lake Champlain waterfront. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. We would happily eat here again if we return to Burlington. read more

Go with the vegan poutine and the classic burger. The non-vegan poutine isn't really poutine. The classic burger was good, but don't be surprised that at $13 all you get is the burger. The beer from Foam was great, but they were 12oz pours at 16iz prices. read more

This is Foam breweries restaurant next door. They have a few good vegan options and are willing to make substitutions on most of their vegetarian options to make them vegan. Love Foam Brewers, their beer and the vibe of the place and what it brings to the area down by Lake Champlain so our visit to Deep City was well overdue given our adoration of the area and the brewery next door. They are taking COVID very seriously and the flow of making a reservation online, showing up and being seated was seamless. My wife and I got the onion dip to start. Followed up by a farmhouse salad with chicken added and a burger. My only complaint is that it isn't specified on the menu that sandwiches don't come with a side and I forgot to ask about it. The house made chips that came with the appetizer were so good that I was really hurting to not get to try their fries with my burger. Chicken was a unique spice blend. Burger was simple but delicious. I also got a Local Dork and an Odd Pets for beers and my wife had a super refreshing kombucha. Foam's IPA beers are creamy, hop juice bombs that never disappoint. One of my top two breweries hands down. My wife couldn't stop saying great things about the kombucha. Wonderful space. Feels spacious. Local art on the walls. The service was superb. We will definitely be back. read more

Really spectacular dinner. Food, atmosphere, beverages and service A+. Best we've found yet in Burlington.

As with others, we discovered this restaurant when we tried to go to Foam Brewery, only to be greeted by a sign that said "no walk-ups until 8 pm" (it was around 4:30 at the time, I think). Turns out Deep City serves brews from Foam, along with their tasty food. They were only able to seat us outside, and there was a light drizzle, but the umbrella over the table kept us completely dry. In addition to enjoying beer from Foam, after all, the chicken sandwich was very tasty. They also have a nice children's menu. Our hungry 7 year old devoured the large burger and fries we ordered for him. Service was also friendly and efficient. Would recommend checking it, even if there is a table at Foam, as a lower key alternative. read more

We Stumbled on this place when Foam Brewery next door was full. The waitstaff is so courteous and professional and the food was like none we ever would have expected in a college town. Very friendly and attentive service to our party of 9. The food was fantastic and the drinks were great too. Highly recommend!

I'll start with the good. The staff people were great. Host, busser and waiter, all friendly efficient and charming. The atmosphere is nice - bright and clean. Now the negative. The mac n cheese was very salty. This was my first impression when it arrived and again eating the leftovers - VERY salty. Side salad came overflowing a small bowl, which made it hard to eat without making a mess. My wife ordered the duck. It was OK, but meat was too well done, while skin remained thick with big layer of fat. If skin is like this, meat should be cooked less so more tender. If well done, the cook off the skin fat so you can eat the skin. Veggies accompanied were interesting and creative, but fennel stalks with fronds practically inedible. This place isn't bad, but it isn't great either. read more
