I'm writing this based on my wife's experience after she had her Subaru looked over in preparation for a long road trip. "They are a bunch of disorganized guys who know their s___! Everyone I encountered was friendly and upbeat." Her car had been making a troublesome noise for a number of years that seemed to be coming from the right front wheel area. 2 previous shops couldn't figure it out. When my wife asked about it when it was ready for pickup, "yeah, it's gone!" To my dismay, my wife chastized Deece for not charging her enough money. Thankfully, they refused to accept more money from her (I need to have a long talk with her). Given her experience, I will be bringing my car to Deece for maintenance in the near future. read more

From the first phone call to every follow through communication - the service and respect I received was very appreciated. At the end when I picked my car up, their honesty led me to say, "I should pay you more". I am grateful that I found and used these mechanics to help me with my car. read more

These guys are the best. They always fix my cars at a very reasonable price. As honest and professional as they get. Here is an example: My daughter's car will not start. Actually, it does start, and then dies in about 2 seconds. Cannot drive it to Deece -- I called them and ask if they know of a good towing company. They, themselves (Deece) will come to my driveway and tow it to the shop (about 2 miles) for $75 flat. Cannot beat that. Tow truck driver gets there. Tries to start the car. Realizes that there is no problem with the car - the key has gone bad. Asks if there is another set (we have 2 more sets). Both of them start the car up, no problem. They charged us -- get this -- $40. Most places would have just towed the car, without trying to start it up and see if the problem was smaller than what was thought. Most places would have run up the bill. Not Deece. I don't go anywhere else. read more

Great local family owned repair shop. My new go-to for any work needed to my Ford Explorer. I called and got an immediate quote for the repairs, dropped it off same day - they gave me a loaner - next day repairs were done. Price was very fair, communication was great. Will never take my car to the dealer again. Highly recommend these guys. read more

I took my car this morning due to the engine light coming on earlier this week. Also my right headlight needed attention. I got there a little before 9am. I was told that they'll call me to let me know the findings. Since I didn't get a call and it was already 1pm, I called them. There was no answer, I left a VM. When I got there, the lady in the front was on her cell phone and didn't seem busy at all so I wondered why my call didn't get answered. I asked for an update and I was told by a gentleman that there was no update. I asked how long it'll take for the diagnostic, he gave me an attitude and told me to take the car. However, the headlight was fixed without my approval. By the time I got there, it was about 5 hours from the time I dropped it off... wasn't that sufficient time to at least check the car? This definitely left a bad taste in my mouth & I won't ever come back. I only brought it there because of the reviews I've seen and I was given the suggestion. I can't help but to think I got this treatment because of my gender and race. read more

Always a good price, a fair deal, and quality work. The crew at Deece has worked on both of our cars since we moved to Berwyn 3 years ago, and I see no need to look elsewhere. Theyre quick to diagnose, and will the the time to explain your options. Try Deece Automotive-youll love them! read more

Deece Automotive was great. I was traveling for work and my car broke down. Someone from work recommended them. I called them and they got my car in same day and had it completed the next day, which I did not expect at all. They where very reasonable on the price as well. I would recommend them in a heart beat! read more

I hate having to get work done on my car but when I do, I love being able to rely on the team at Deece. Not only do I feel like they're so honest about what's necessary (and what's not) but their service is quick and fairly priced. It truly feels like I'm leaving my car in the hands of family who I know will take good care of me. Bonus for me last week when I had to take my car in: Brian showed me a feature I never knew I had in the almost five years I've had the car! I DEECE! Thanks again guys! read more

TLDR: If I just spent $800 with you, the least you can do is talk to me nicely and demonstrate respect. ---- I brought my car into Deece for brake and exhaust work, totaling nearly $800. While driving home, I went over a relatively common sized speed bump (nothing out of the ordinary) and heard some knocking on the right front side. This is my back up car, so I returned a few days later and informed the shop manager of the problem. He immediately said it was the coil spring. From a customer perspective, if you begin to experience a problem in the exact area where your car was serviced it's reasonable to believe that something went wrong when your car was being serviced. Sometimes it's an unfortunate coincidence, sometimes it was negligence on the part of the service provider. The manager immediately became defensive and said there was no possible way that the brake service could have caused an issue with the coil spring. I'm not a mechanic, but I also did not have problem with the coil spring before I left my car with them. He was dismissive, and refused to take any possible accountability and lacked any empathy for my perspective. I was considering leaving my car with him since I was already there and my car is 10 years old (stuff breaks), but as we were talking I walked around to look at the other side of my car and he had walked back into the shop ( literally no longer in sight). I walked back into the shop and asked why he walked away and explained that his behavior was disrespectful, and he made an excuse and said I was on my phone - FALSE. We were in the middle of a conversation, and he walked away when my back was turned because he was no longer interested in anything I had to say. From there things went downhill. The manager was not showing any respect for me as a customer who had expressed a reasonable concern, so I requested for him to return my keys, passed some expletives and left. I will have my car fixed elsewhere. No way, I would give them more of my money, with that level of disrespect. read more

Fair priced, won't try to sell you things you don't need and absolutely amazing customer service. These guys went above and beyond for my grandfather who's car failed the emissions test. Beyond kind, Deece Auto is a true blessing to the Berwyn community. Thank yous! read more

My friend recommended Deece after we moved into the area and we are so happy we found them. Deece was quick, honest, and got my car working beautifully after dealing with the dealer who just wanted to scam money out of us. We will be taking both our cars here for the future. read more

Our mechanic of 15 plus years retired and sold to some scammers. We were looking for recommendations for an honest mechanic in the area. Deece was recommended to us and said hey what to we have to lose. Went there 2 weeks ago for an oil change. They let me know that in 5000 miles I'll need brakes nothing to worry about right now. Let my husband know he said just get it done. A great sign of a mechanic is saying your brakes are going and you need them done now (the scammers told us we needed brakes a year ago, we ddI not) They were honest in saying we had time. Just got my truck back from the brake job and they fixed the front suspension. Jimmy, Brian and everyone there is very professional. They now have customers for life and will recommend them to everyone we know. read more

Friendly, courteous, timely, knowledgeable, reasonable. What more could a gal ask? I wish they had had a more inviting waiting area, but that is a frill and should not detract from their stars. They know their job and they do it very well. read more

Jimmy is the most honest mechanic I have ever met. Brought my car in for a weird sound and he told me something was loose on my tire. That was it. I'm used to mechanics always scamming me/all in it for the money. I will only bring my car here from now on. HONEST WORK! read more

This place is great! They are honest and can be trusted to do a good job and not try to up sell you on services that you dont need!

Jimmy, Brian, and their team are honest, reliable, and efficient. Deece Automotive has my strongest recommendation.

Read the reviews for this place, and decided to take my car here. They did a bad job on my brakes took it back "supposedly" fixed them only to find out the next day make brakes were doing the same noise, and the steering wheel shook when i would brake. Took it to another place & the gentlemen showed me how bad my rotor were & to top it off I NEEDED NEW BRAKE PADS BECAUSE the one they put on were bad. Very upset at this place & now I'm out money for a bad brake job jimmy did. read more

I took my daughter's 1999 Monte Carlos to this place. Jimmy sold me an engine; told me it was in excellent condition claiming to have worked with the company before. As a single mother, I trusted Jimmy. Before allowing him to install the engine, in which was the summer right before she left for college, I specifically asked would this $3000.00 engine he recommended, and insisted upon, get her through four years of college. He said, "Yes!", very adamantly. The engine was giving us issues within the first few weeks. I took the car back at the first sign of trouble, totaling over four times within less than three months. He kept saying it was fine; it's fixed. He became rude and nasty toward me; short over the phone; suddenly unavailable to speak with me once I requested a replacement; I even drove over twice just to try to discuss the matter. He became even more rude and racist toward me... nonetheless, I never backed down. Days before she left, I took the car to Jimmy for service, yet again. He deemed the vehicle fixed for sure, and said it was in perfect driving condition for leaving for Carbondale. It was indeed at Jimmy's before putting it on the road for I have the parking ticket to prove it because they left her vehicle, that should have been on the lot, on the street in a 'no parking overnight' zone. I was never compensated for that either. While driving southbound on 355, the engine blew. Jimmy was so disconnected from the situation, he wouldn't even send a tow truck to pick us up off the expressway with a car fully loaded with passengers and moving items for college. He told me to get it done the best way I could. He admitted he'd let the warranty run out, and stated hatefully the car was no longer his problem. I was distraught. I took him to court. Jimmy didn't show up for the original court date. He had an attorney from a different state call me once. The attorney never returned my calls. Meanwhile, they went back to court, after not showing up originally, to vacate the order that left him liable, but sent no notification to me that they'd filed a motion to vacate the order. That was under handed and illegal. I'm still in pursuit! DON'T TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS AUTOMOTIVE SHOP!!! HE'S A LIAR AND A THIEF!!! *FYI: IN ORDER TO POST THIS, I HAD TO RATE IT, OR IT WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO DO SO!!! read more

Jimmy and his crew have saved me (and my family) tens of thousands of dollars over the past ten years. Incredibly trustworthy, they will explain your options in depth. At one point Ford dealership said I needed to replace my engine for $8k+. I towed it to Deece for a 2nd opinion and l left with a $500 bill and a fully functional car. I'm still driving it five years later (never replaced engine!). Grateful to have a place I trust! read more

I had a flat in a nearby garage and I gave Deece auto a call to help me out since my tire was stuck. They were really nice, responded quickly, and had my spare on my care within 30 minutes. I left my tire with them overnight, they patched it up, and my car was back on 4 original tires the next day. Quick, easy, and nice service. I would definitely go back to get other work done. read more

Deece Automotive definitely is a 5 star automotive repair shop. Jimmy and Brian are very honest and do excellent work. I will continue to take my car to Deece for all my automotive work. They can be trusted. I brought my car in for work another mechanic said I needed and was told me it was not necessary. My car was dead at the train station one evening and Jimmy came after hours to jump my car and wouldn't even charge me. These guys are one of a kind. It's great to have a mechanic you can trust. I've never been here but my girlfriend stands by this place and drives from Hype Park just to have her auto repairs performed. She's been told on several occasions by other shops that she needs work performed (brakes, wheel bearings, etc.) only to take it to Deece's and find out its not true. Brake jobs are very profitable for shops and it would have been easy to piggyback these other shops assertions. But the guys at Deece are honest and reliable and if they weren't so far away I would definitely be bring my car here for repairs and maintenance. read more

I was very unhappy with the service I received at Deece Automotive. I had dropped my car off approximately three or four months ago, I have been calling them and asking when my car will be ready for pickup and they kept giving me the run around. Today, I received a phone call telling me that my car is ready for pickup. I had explained that I was going out of town, was not aware that my car would be ready this soon, because lets face it, I didn't think they would ever get done. I told them I cancelled the insurance and everything to do with the car while it was in their care. The person I spoke to, Brian, told me to bring in my title to the car and they will sell it for what I owe them. I wasn't aware that I was getting MY car fixed for them to sell it and make money off of it. If I had wanted to sell it, I would have sold it myself. Now, I have been borrowing other peoples' cars to use while they have had it, and they want to sell it??? I think not. I will not frequent them ever again, and I urge you to find somewhere else to go. read more
