I took my car this morning due to the engine light coming on earlier this week. Also my right headlight needed attention. I got there a little before 9am. I was told that they'll call me to let me know the findings. Since I didn't get a call and it was already 1pm, I called them. There was no answer, I left a VM. When I got there, the lady in the front was on her cell phone and didn't seem busy at all so I wondered why my call didn't get answered. I asked for an update and I was told by a gentleman that there was no update. I asked how long it'll take for the diagnostic, he gave me an attitude and told me to take the car. However, the headlight was fixed without my approval. By the time I got there, it was about 5 hours from the time I dropped it off... wasn't that sufficient time to at least check the car? This definitely left a bad taste in my mouth & I won't ever come back. I only brought it there because of the reviews I've seen and I was given the suggestion. I can't help but to think I got this treatment because of my gender and race. read more

TLDR: If I just spent $800 with you, the least you can do is talk to me nicely and demonstrate respect. ---- I brought my car into Deece for brake and exhaust work, totaling nearly $800. While driving home, I went over a relatively common sized speed bump (nothing out of the ordinary) and heard some knocking on the right front side. This is my back up car, so I returned a few days later and informed the shop manager of the problem. He immediately said it was the coil spring. From a customer perspective, if you begin to experience a problem in the exact area where your car was serviced it's reasonable to believe that something went wrong when your car was being serviced. Sometimes it's an unfortunate coincidence, sometimes it was negligence on the part of the service provider. The manager immediately became defensive and said there was no possible way that the brake service could have caused an issue with the coil spring. I'm not a mechanic, but I also did not have problem with the coil spring before I left my car with them. He was dismissive, and refused to take any possible accountability and lacked any empathy for my perspective. I was considering leaving my car with him since I was already there and my car is 10 years old (stuff breaks), but as we were talking I walked around to look at the other side of my car and he had walked back into the shop ( literally no longer in sight). I walked back into the shop and asked why he walked away and explained that his behavior was disrespectful, and he made an excuse and said I was on my phone - FALSE. We were in the middle of a conversation, and he walked away when my back was turned because he was no longer interested in anything I had to say. From there things went downhill. The manager was not showing any respect for me as a customer who had expressed a reasonable concern, so I requested for him to return my keys, passed some expletives and left. I will have my car fixed elsewhere. No way, I would give them more of my money, with that level of disrespect. read more

Our mechanic of 15 plus years retired and sold to some scammers. We were looking for recommendations for an honest mechanic in the area. Deece was recommended to us and said hey what to we have to lose. Went there 2 weeks ago for an oil change. They let me know that in 5000 miles I'll need brakes nothing to worry about right now. Let my husband know he said just get it done. A great sign of a mechanic is saying your brakes are going and you need them done now (the scammers told us we needed brakes a year ago, we ddI not) They were honest in saying we had time. They did a bad job on my brakes took it back "supposedly" fixed them only to find out the next day make brakes were doing the same noise, and the steering wheel shook when i would brake. Took it to another place & the gentlemen showed me how bad my rotor were & to top it off I NEEDED NEW BRAKE PADS BECAUSE the one they put on were bad. I took my daughter's 1999 Monte Carlos to this place. Jimmy sold me an engine; told me it was in excellent condition claiming to have worked with the company before. As a single mother, I trusted Jimmy. Before allowing him to install the engine, in which was the summer right before she left for college, I specifically asked would this $3000.00 engine he recommended, and insisted upon, get her through four years of college. He said, "Yes!", very adamantly. The engine was giving us issues within the first few weeks. I took the car back at the first sign of trouble, totaling over four times within less than three months. He kept saying it was fine; it's fixed. He became rude and nasty toward me; short over the phone; suddenly unavailable to speak with me once I requested a replacement; I even drove over twice just to try to discuss the matter. He became even more rude and racist toward me... nonetheless, I never backed down. Days before she left, I took the car to Jimmy for service, yet again. He deemed the vehicle fixed for sure, and said it was in perfect driving condition for leaving for Carbondale. It was indeed at Jimmy's before putting it on the road for I have the parking ticket to prove it because they left her vehicle, that should have been on the lot, on the street in a 'no parking overnight' zone. I was never compensated for that either. While driving southbound on 355, the engine blew. Jimmy was so disconnected from the situation, he wouldn't even send a tow truck to pick us up off the expressway with a car fully loaded with passengers and moving items for college. He told me to get it done the best way I could. He admitted he'd let the warranty run out, and stated hatefully the car was no longer his problem. I was distraught. I took him to court. Jimmy didn't show up for the original court date. He had an attorney from a different state call me once. The attorney never returned my calls. Meanwhile, they went back to court, after not showing up originally, to vacate the order that left him liable, but sent no notification to me that they'd filed a motion to vacate the order. That was under handed and illegal. I'm still in pursuit! DON'T TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS AUTOMOTIVE SHOP!!! HE'S A LIAR AND A THIEF!!! *FYI: IN ORDER TO POST THIS, I HAD TO RATE IT, OR IT WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO DO SO!!! read more

I had a flat in a nearby garage and I gave Deece auto a call to help me out since my tire was stuck. They were really nice, responded quickly, and had my spare on my care within 30 minutes. I left my tire with them overnight, they patched it up, and my car was back on 4 original tires the next day. Quick, easy, and nice service. I've never been here but my girlfriend stands by this place and drives from Hype Park just to have her auto repairs performed. She's been told on several occasions by other shops that she needs work performed (brakes, wheel bearings, etc.) only to take it to Deece's and find out its not true. Brake jobs are very profitable for shops and it would have been easy to piggyback these other shops assertions. But the guys at Deece are honest and reliable and if they weren't so far away I would definitely be bring my car here for repairs and maintenance. read more

I was very unhappy with the service I received at Deece Automotive. I had dropped my car off approximately three or four months ago, I have been calling them and asking when my car will be ready for pickup and they kept giving me the run around. Today, I received a phone call telling me that my car is ready for pickup. I had explained that I was going out of town, was not aware that my car would be ready this soon, because lets face it, I didn't think they would ever get done. I told them I cancelled the insurance and everything to do with the car while it was in their care. The person I spoke to, Brian, told me to bring in my title to the car and they will sell it for what I owe them. I wasn't aware that I was getting MY car fixed for them to sell it and make money off of it. If I had wanted to sell it, I would have sold it myself. Now, I have been borrowing other peoples' cars to use while they have had it, and they want to sell it??? I think not. I will not frequent them ever again, and I urge you to find somewhere else to go. read more

It is interesting that all the one star reviews are from people that only have one Yelp review, that is a sign of a fake reviewer!! Anyway, on to my review. I took my 1999 Toyota RAV4 there because the horn did not work and my regular mechanic was very backed up. They were very good, my horn was replaced years ago by someone else and I changed it to an American sounding horn instead of the Japanese sounding one it comes with. Anyway, they had to order it and it took a while for the parts people to get there, I believe this was due to a freight train stuck on the tracks and the parts supplier being on that side. Anyway, he ordered two different ones and let me listen to each one so I could get the one that sounded like the last one I had. I recommend this place. read more
