Perfect food vibe in Florida. The food was fresh and owners were so kind felt like I was eating a home cooked meal.

This place is amazing. Legit smoked bbq and fried fish, collard greens, Mac n cheese, slaw, corn…read morebread etc. really nice and inviting place with the best soul food. The souse is great also.

We made a day trip to the area and were hungry, initially we wanted seafood but after stopping…read moresomewhere else we decided to pivot here after perusing reviews of this and several other establishments. ambiance is... well, its in a strip mall, interior wasn't too much to speak of. service was fast/friendly. the food- my wife got oxtails with collard greens, mac n cheese and cornbread. i got pork chop sandwich with onion rings (was told i wouldnt be able to get lettuce/tomato, which was fine, so i just asked for open face with side of gravy, i really wantef smothered style so this was fine). food arrived timely. the appearance of my food wasnt all that, but the pork chop tasted good, appeared to have light breading, with good flavor, maybe a touch over cooked. my onion rings were crispy, great to dip in ranch (thanks to my server for asking if I needed a side of it). The gravy was OK, but was separating a little/ runny and was extremely hot. so overall, I would give my food like a 3.75/5. we shared food and my wife echoed these sentiments. my wifes meal. first, I will only say that I didn't feel like you got very much portion wise for her protein, maybe we are a little spoiled as there is a Soulfood restaurant closer to where we live where the price is about the same but you get a lot more meat. however, flavor is king and... flavor of the oxtails here was lacking. my wife felt they were underseasoned. the rice with them was... rice, didn't really pick up any of the meetings from the broth/marrow of the oxtail bones. her mac & cheese was quite quite good, I ended up eating most of it. The collard greens were probably the worst thing we ate, no flavor at all, even after adding hot sauce. Normally my wife loves collard greens and I don't eat much, but she was more than happy to let me have as much of them as I wanted, but after a couple of bites, I stopped. overall, I would rate the food she ordered as 2.5/5. between our meals, one iced tea and tip it was $50. Again, the service was very good. My food was pretty good. My wife's food underwhelming. overall, Respectfully, we're not from the area so our odds of returning were not high anyway, but there was nothing else would really draw us back if we were to return to the area. my final note would be, they were not very busy, but it seemed like most of the customers where we could tell what they ordered had ordered the catfish so that made be indicative of something we or someone else might want to order on a future visit.

We decided to have dinner when they had soulfood Sunday. The original waitress we had was cool and friendly, but the 2nd was not friendly, never took a drink order, never told us what was still available. We orginally ordered yams, after 15/20 of waiting we were told there weren't any left and what would we like to replace it with, but luckily they discovered they had enough for at least one serving. The peel & eat shrimp is literally too salty to eat. Following this dinner we had full blown headaches and suspect it was from this salty dish that we could not finish. The catfish was cooked well, and seasoned well, yet also salty along with the collard greens. The mac was good and balanced, the bite with some catfish was perfect. I was happy they did bring out the yams because they were made perfectly, soft, not too sweet and complimented every part of the meal. The smothered porkchops, a bit too smothered for our liking in a salty gravy. Trying to eat the porkchop itself was a challenge not worth much because you may be getting fatty piece. My wife, being the kind person she is, decided to try dessert. She has been looking for real banana pudding, what they had left was red velvet cake. It was pretty good, not much to say on it honestly I was beyond done. That said, we will not be returning. I really wanted a po boy, but its not worth getting a headache over due to high sodium

Such an amazing representation of how a local community can thrive alongside a successful business…read more It starts with an amazing selection of delicious options on the menu, served by the greatest possible level of friendly service team that are being backed up by a wonderful kitchen staff... The Combination of this level of excellence within the establishment, along the creatively effective leadership from the owners, has blessed the community with a powerhouse in the dining industry. Additionally, the availability for on-site private functions and their catering capabilities has led to their exponential growth and now the move to their new larger location. If you are ready to step up your dining experience with a true local hot spot for hospitality and hearty meals, Angels is your place! I personally know customers that order through Door-Dash and Uber Eats to have their food delivered as far away as Geneva, Oviedo, Chuluota and East Orlando. That alone speaks volumes when you consider the increased wait time and expense of such a great delivery distance. Pure Proof of Product Perfection! *10 Out Of 10* Highly Recommended

You order a surprise meal through the app. It was Sunday and they offer a Sunday dinner so I had high hopes for my order of two dinners. One meal was three pieces of jerk chicken along with sides of rice and black eyed peas. The second meal was baked chicken with mashed potatoes and white beans that seemed to be northern. The chicken was freshly prepared and hot and the meals stayed that way until I got home. I liked that the jerk chicken was not too spicy. Definitely full of flavor and the peas and rice was a nice combination. The second meal was a comforting meal. Two dark pieces of chicken and a scoop of mashed with the simmered northern beans. Each meal came with cornbread which probably was my favorite part. I was happy with my meals and definitely would eat here again. I want extra cornbread and to choose another dish from the menu.
