This is a cute little stationary shop. It struck me as I walked in that if you have a very specific…read moreneed that you're looking for in terms of cards and gifts, the way that I did, this is probably not going to be your go-to place. What this place does look like it is good for is for your inner party planner to come out and do something that's like above and beyond amazing! The type of the decorations that grace these doors are giving very Gallantines Day vibes with a pinch of Saturday morning brunch. I'm talking cocktail napkins with cheeky sayings and quirky board games, and lots of really beautiful high quality cards. Also, in the back one of their employees was very much engaged in a wedding consultation for a couple, and it was clear that they know all of the event planners in town. This place is definitely a great resource if you're willing to spend a little bit more time and energy on your creative party planning needs. I unfortunately walked out empty-handed cuz I was definitely looking for more of a down to earth Black Girl Magic vibe and well, this ain't it. That said, I will probably be back to plan my daughter's next birthday celebration.

The point is if you are visiting here to add to your stationary, wrong place. Just not a lot of stickers or pens or card stock that you may want. Lots of gift ideas. Placemats. Napkins. Some decorations. Ribbon. Bought a wooden baby toy for my 1 year old nephew. Friendly enough. Visit their new location. See if they picked up more space for more variety.

My mom and I went to The Write Image to choose and order wedding invitations because we wanted to…read moresupport the local business and wanted an experienced second opinion. The selection process was the best part - our sales associate was very knowledgeable and honest. I looked forward to coming into the store to talk to her! She made it easy and ordered any samples we wanted to see so that we could make the best/informed decision. Unfortunately, she left the store in the midst of our process to graduate from college and move on! Good for her, but we missed her! We ordered our invitations with the help of a different associate and the process seemed to go smoothly. The proof from the vendor came in on time, but the directions card was incorrect (not even the right motif). So I emailed the associate and asked if it would match the rest of the cards. I guess she missed that in the email because the directions cards came in wrong. So we had to wait another week for the cards to come in and another week to have The Write Image print our map on the back. Another issue that upset us was that we were charged $50 for color ink on the return address on the outer envelope, when we were never informed of this option (was not in the original estimate). If we were offered black, we would have said yes to that to save a couple bucks - invitations are expensive! I give The Write Image 2 stars because when I go to a specialty shop, I expect to get expert guidance, but a few things slipped through the cracks. It is too bad our initial sales associate was not able to help us all the way through or else I think we would have had a better experience!

Nice selection of stationery for special occasions or even everyday use when you want something…read morenicer than copy-paper. Write Image really struck me as a place to go for wedding invitations or announcements or gifts for similar events. If you're a calligrapher, some of the paper here would be ideal, albeit pricey. The Write Stuff did have some really beautiful picture frames that would be a good gift for a wedding or graduation. The small calculator with an attached pen in a case that, at first glance, looked like it carried a pair of fold-up reading glasses, might get me back in the store. Otherwise, nice store that it is, it's not my type of place.

Parking can be a bit of a nightmare during a weekday lunch hour. This location is a very small B&N, but there is a nice selection of books nonetheless. I love stopping in when I'm in Raleigh for a quick lunch nearby. Great place to browse when short on time.

I typically love Barnes & Noble, but this particular location fascinated me and not in a good way…read more First off, Barnes & Noble is in the Village District, so there's plenty of parking. Inside is like any other Barnes & Noble location; it's bright, clean, easy to navigate, and there are areas to sit and read. There were lots of sections that had books on sale for 1/2 off as well as non-book items for a discount. However, this store is probably the smallest I've been to which results in less options. What dropped my rating to 3 stars is my biggest pet peeve I've never seen in any new book store until my most recent visit...authors were not in alphabetical order! I was looking for Dean Koontz in particular, an author that is often compared to Stephen King. There were lots of Stephen King soft and hardcovers, however, I couldn't find a single Dean Koontz novel. Not only that, but the horror section had Stephen King both on top and bottom shelves as well as other authors that were mixed in but weren't letters "j" or "l", causing some chaos with finding authors. My husband didn't notice until I pointed it out and he too, thought that was strange. I did buy a pack of fun pens for $5.25 while I was there which was half off, not a bad deal for a novelty item! The cashier was friendly, it was a short interaction for a pack of pens so not much else was needed beyond that. I don't think my OCD will allow my mind to want to come back, though. I can't get past the books not being in alphabetical order by author's names, which is crazy for a Barnes & Noble.
