Pioneer Glass And Window Fashions

We wanted to replace our older glass shower door and received three quotes from local suppliers…read more Pioneer Glass was prompt, patient and professional. They provided a schematic of how the door would look, and an easy to understand and competitively priced project proposal. The proposal also detailed several options we were considering, including 1/2" glass. We opted to move forward with Pioneer, they estimated it would take approximately three weeks to order our custom door. Just under three weeks later, our door arrived and was installed a few days later. There were no issues, the measurements were correct, door looked great and worked perfectly and swings easily, all 90 pounds of glass. And the 1/2" glass gives the shower a high-end look and feel. We'd be delighted to work with them again on our next glass related project.

The maintenance supervisor for the facility had been soliciting replacement prices for awhile, nothing affordable came in. He mentioned to me the need to replace several windows, I suggested Pioneer. They came in measured and had a more than competitive price in hand within a couple of days. Quoted an accurate lead time and delivered and installed on time. The windows are beautiful, the price was more than fair, and the installation was completed without a hitch. Jake and the crew at Pioneer are a great team, and do exactly what they promise.

Roger from Shades in Place was amazing. We had a few vendors come by to give us quotes on…read moreplantation shutters & roller shades, but we were blown away by his friendly advice and customer-first recommendations that we ended up going with him right after his visit. Price was fair as well, and I loved that he never tried to upsell us on the most expensive styles - in fact he was really honest and told me in advance if a more expensive style or option (e.g. cordless) was not good from certain vendors, always keeping our best interest in mind. As first time window shutter buyers, I appreciated his honesty and his providing recommendations based on experience (other vendors didn't provide many recommendations even when asked). He ALWAYS was prompt about calling back or responding to emails right away which was a struggle I experienced with other vendors so I greatly appreciated it. Bonus: he's super respectful of your house - wears shoe covers indoors and even brought a small vacuum to get rid of paint dust after installation. I am planning on using Roger for every other blind for our house and highly recommend.

Attached are just a few examples of Roger and his assistant's work. Many of our paintings and photos were extremely large and very heavy, and something we wanted a professional to take care of. I will be calling Roger again for another round of art and photo installation. Thanks Roger for your professionalism!

After 18 years of loyal, but damp, service, we had to replace three large Hunter Douglas blinds in…read moreour bathroom. The design is a bit complicated as we like to keep the shades open at the top to see the sky in the morning. The Barrows team was fantastic in reviewing all the style and price options. Most importantly, they sent a measurement person who also brought a sample book, so that I could see the shade options and colors in the room. We are extremely happy with the final result.

This was my fourth time using Barrows for window treatment. Obviously I was pleased if I used…read moreBarrows for each place I lived. Never again. This time they badly mis-measured the windows in a bedroom. Because of that mistake, the window treatments were unusable and had to be re-done. For a few months, Barrows gave me an expected date of arrival, but the date kept being pushed out. Eventually, Barrows stopped up-dating me and I heard nothing. I began calling to try to get information. I thought I had been forgotten and my order lost. Every time I called, I got a different person. In all, I was passed around to five different people as I tried to get information. It took five months to get the window treatments and when I did get them, they were not the original fabric because that was no longer available. (Barrows did not notify me this was going to be the case.) In the past, the installers have been excellent. This time, the men who came to install, did not know what they were doing and I had to argue with them to place the window treatments so that the most light could be blocked. Barrows eventually offered me a small amount of money as compensation. Imagine my feelings when the window treatments I waited so long for finally arrived and were installed, to get a coupon from Barrows for $500 to be used upon initial consultation. That was like adding insult to injury. The delay in my receiving my order was not Barrows' fault. That was a supply chain problem that began to develop just at the time of the order. The original mis-measurement WAS Barrows' fault. Had the original measurement been done accurately, I would not have encountered the supply chain problem. I don't think Barrows is the company it once was and I would not use them again.

I didn't even know if they could be repaired or would have to be replaced. I was warmly greeted by Lynn, who assured me the window treatments could definitely be repaired and would not need replacement for a long time. She scheduled a repair appointment for next week. It was such a relief to find excellent customer service!

I cannot recommend HomeTrends based on my recent experience…read more I scheduled an in-home appointment to have 12 windows measured. No one showed up, and I was left waiting at home with no apparent notice that the appointment would not be kept. I contacted HomeTrends afterward and expressed my frustration about the missed appointment and the time I had wasted. I was initially told they would arrange for someone else to come out. Instead, the owner subsequently told me that it would be better for me to take my business to another blinds company and that they no longer wanted to work with me. That response surprised me. A missed appointment can happen. What mattered more to me was how the company handled it afterward. Rather than apologizing, taking responsibility, and trying to make things right, their solution was essentially to tell the customer to go elsewhere. There are plenty of companies selling and installing window treatments. Based on my experience, I would choose one that is more reliable, respects its customers' time, and makes customers feel that their business is valued. BTW, they did tell me if I wrote a negative review that "I was a bad person". Well, this review is only intended to give you, the consumer, an insight to my experience. I am not sure that constitutes me as being a "bad" person, but again maybe insight to how HomeTrends perceives upset customers verse working out an amendable solution.
