The last two dive trips that we have done with them were great and we had a wonderful time. I have done approximately 20 dives with this company. However, this last time the guides were so disconnected. Michael and Dololly in the shop were so helpful but as soon as we got on the boat we were basically on our own. The only person that was even remotely helpful was Marco, who we had dove with before. He seemed to be the only guide that knew how to man the boat. Riley was absolutely clueless and rude. She was the guide that stayed on the boat to help us on/off the boat and while my mother was trying to get back on, she let go of her without warning leading to her falling and gashing open her leg. When I asked my mom what happened to her leg Riley snidely commented well she fell on the boat. Then while she was helping me get on the boat she grabbed my air gauge causing me to almost fall as well. One of the guides, didn't catch his name, was drinking alcohol on the boat before and after the dive while certifying a 10 year old boy. I don't understand how this is allowed. Furthermore, our guide left us in the middle of the dive. He eventually showed up but did not seem able to navigate under water as the previous guides had. Which was very nerve wracking considering the currents we were moving into. He also did not help with getting on and off of the boat for the dives. He was very disengaged with our group and did not seem to want to even be a guide. Overall, a bad experience sadly as we have enjoyed our previous trips with them. It seems their guides have become much less knowledgeable and supportive than they used to be. Most dive guides are personable and want to share their dive knowledge, however this group seems to be more about just getting it done.

The day before our appointment, he figured out we didn't have all the parts we needed, and even helped track down the parts (that's not even his job!). Wow, just wow... The Juliet isn't the fanciest, but you will not find or dive any dive sites this…read morepristine anywhere in the US. The diving was some of the best I've experienced. No other boats at any of their sites other than Sapona, which is a wreck dive just a few miles from South Bimini. I could do a whole review on this site alone. There's something to be said for diving without 2 or 3 other boats on the same site much less anywhere to be seen. Back to The Juliet, she used to be a cargo ship now converted to a liveaboard dive ship with enough room for 12 guests and 6 crew. Upon arrival you will be treated like a guest and depart feeling like family. Outfitted with the diver in mind, it's super easy to get spoiled diving from the Juliet. Super easy giant stride off either side, the best ladder I've ever used to exit the water and 15 ft bar to assist on those 3-minute safety stops. The crew operates like a well-oiled machine with each one doing whatever needs to be done. Unfortunately, we did have a medical emergency on the trip and the crew immediately went into action and got the Coast Guard involved in an air lift operation to get the afflicted passenger to hospital care. All the while they kept the rest of us updated on what was going on. Sorry no pictures, but this was impressive on all accounts. Back to the fun diving part... The Juliet offers Nitrox only diving (they can certify you if you're not already), 3 day and 1 night dive are offered daily, the dives range from 20'-100' and you can lionfish hunt or take photos to your heart's content. We did do a couple of drift dives, but the current wasn't really cooperating. I'd like to give a special shoutout to Jimmy for taking care of all our lionfish and keeping the boat running, Frenchie for making them into ceviche and some of the best lobster bisque ever, Matt excellent DM and the great dive briefings, Lyndsey for her great love and knowledge of 'fish of the dive', John N. for night watch and all the little things, John B. This was my first open-water dive after recently becoming certified, and to say I was nervous would…read morebe an understatement. I was genuinely worried that once we got in the water, I wouldn't be able to do it. From the moment we arrived at Sailfish Scuba, we were welcomed like old friends. The boat ride out was enjoyable, and the entire crew--from the dive guides to the captain--was incredibly personable, knowledgeable, and reassuring. My companion has more than 50 dives under his belt, so he gave T, the owner, a heads-up that this was my first dive and that I was pretty nervous. T got in the water with me and stayed by my side throughout our descent. When I started to feel that familiar panic setting in, he calmly kept me moving down while continuously checking on me and making sure I was okay. I'm so grateful he did. If I had been left to descend on my own, I honestly think I would have surfaced several times and possibly not completed the dive at all. Having T right there gave me the confidence I needed to push through that initial fear. Once I was down, everything changed. I became much more comfortable, and by the next three dives, I was able to descend completely on my own. My companion, who is an experienced diver, said Sailfish Scuba is one of the best dive companies he has ever been with--and after my experience, I completely understand why. The professionalism, knowledge, and genuine care this crew showed made such a huge difference for me as a new diver.
