We didn't get to dive with Diver's Paradise (one of our divers had an ear issue). However, the dive shop had impressed us before the sign up process and as well by the professionalism they showed in helping us when we had to back out. When I'd originally called to ask about different sailings and dive sites, John was very knowledgeable and helpful in making sure that we picked the right kind of dive for our group. When we realized that we wouldn't be able to make the dives, the shop (I believe it might have been Trish?) was speedy and professional in helping us understand options. When we had to officially cancel, they were professional and helpful in getting us a refund without hassle. Truly, we are grateful for their help and courtesy. Next time I'm in Miami, I am definitely coming back to give them by business! read more

So a shout out to Divers Paradise in Miami, who we set up an ashes dive with on Neptune reef, especially John in the office. They cancelled after a lot of work on their part scheduling a private charter with us (yea, we were high-maintenance) when weather became a problem, but other less honorable shops would have made us go out in sloppy 4's. I was very pleased that we got a full refund, no problem. When I called later to get on a two tanker for a friend and I, he remembered us and thanked us for coming back. Op itself is very nice - rinse tanks for suits and another for regs, etc., big Newtons that were clean and well organized, mates that were spot-on attentive, and they were cognizant of new divers and the current that day. Overall if you're diving Miami, especially Key Biscayne/neptune reef, these are the guys. They took care of us. read more

Bottom line: An A+++ dive operation. Divers Paradise does a great job at finding the right balance between fun, safety, great service and professionalism. I highly recommend them. I was previously certified to dive after a slapstick resort course many years ago and wanted to get back into it after a long break. I thought the best path would be to go through their full two-day certification course, which was excellent. Our instructor, Eduardo Suarez, was awesome. An excellent teacher that really knows how to communicate key concepts and is a lot of fun to spend time with. We were also joined by divemaster Will, who gave us some interesting pointers and perspectives...he was super helpful. I followed up with my Nitrox cert, which ended with a short course with Sasha, who was also very clear and concise in his teaching. Their dive trips are also great. Their two boats are located directly next to the shop so you can deal with any rentals or equipment needs very easily, and then you just walk across the street to the boats. The boats are well-equipped, clean as can be, perfectly prepared upon your arrival and feature snacks and cold beverages. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and ensures that all steps are taken for a safe and fun dive. Lastly, the folks working the shop and handling all the course and dive reservations are amazing. So friendly and knowledgeable. I hadn't been in a dive shop in years and Michael made me feel so welcome and at home on my first day back. My friend bought a very expensive Garmin dive computer and Isabella spent a lot of time getting her setup and offering to teach her the basics of its operation. You can't get that type of service from Amazon. This is a first class operation, for sure. read more

Had a trip with Divers Paradise when my regular shop was going to a site I don't particularly like. Their operation is good and the oranges in the cooler were very appreciated between the dives. Once again, the pre dive brief was not adequate, a drawing of the site and suggested swim route would have been great for an orientation. I wasn't keen on the first dive site we went to, I'm sure there had to be better places. This was a very shallow reef with a strong current and pretty good waves, which meant visibility was horrible and the diving was like being inside a washing machine. Part of my expectation is for the operator to use local knowledge to choose dive sites which are suitable to the conditions. A deeper site or a deeper reef with a drift dive would have been fantastic. The second site was much better, memorial reef. Interesting marine life and it will be nice over time to see this fill in. One suggestion for the staff, please do not walk around on the bottom. The amount of silt being stirred up was not good and impaired visibility and our enjoyment. I'll probably keep Divers Paradise in mind for the future, despite the $3 toll to get onto the island. read more

We used Diver's Paradise to get our Open Water Diver Certification and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our instructor, Gabby, was phenomenal. I was a very nervous dive student and Gabby was not only a thorough and professional instructor but she really helped me not feel anxious by taking her time with me, explaining things, and frequently checking in on me. The dive sites chosen for our training dives were excellent. We saw a lot of great marine life and were fortunate to have great visibility. Marco, Ben and the dive boat crew were a delight as well. We had a scuba and snorkeling trip planned. Colorado got dumped with snow though and we had to change our reservation since our flights got delayed :( Unfortunately the only opening was the day we were flying out so my son could not scuba as planned. All of us went snorkeling. We all did have a really great time though! We arrived at the location in key biscayne. We got checked in. Unfortunately their online check in was not working so we had to do paper waivers. But at least they had that option. The boat was just right across the road. there is parking in the lot was customers that is free. If you go and think you might get sea sick at all you should bring some dramamine. I have never taken dramamine before so i felt like a super heavy unnatural sleepiness. But it did keep the nausea down. Unfortunately many folks on the boat were getting sick. The waves were really rocking that day. The trip itself was great. the crew was all fantastic. we saw neptunes memorial which was cool. at the next stop, we saw some coral and some fish. Dont forget to bring a tip for your crew or your teacher if you are getting a teacher. read more

Update from my previous 5 star review As of Jan 2024 Maybe it was an off day because the first time I dove with Diver's Paradise in 2022 it was great. This time not so great: 1) if your dive is cancelled and you opt to reschedule and it's rebooked make sure you receive a re-booking email confirmation. Unfortunately I did not receive the email and I showed up at the original reservation time only to learn the boat is leaving 3hrs later. 2) make sure you validate visibility sources if it's been storming in Key Biscane. One staff person said in the recent weeks after storms they had 50ft and another said 10-15ft. Would be great to have consistent feedback and align your expectations. 3) ask the staff to double check your set up and do a safety check. This is typically par for the course but this time this important detail was missed and I had a leaky valve even asking the instructor during the dive to check when we started the dive. Not a big deal for an experienced diver but for a new diver it's critical. 4) if you are diving Neptune in crappy visibility stick with your instructor. Unfortunately we lost each other and I was able to find another instructor but the dive plan for Neptune wasn't made clear. Aside from the above the crew is super kind, polite, and the operation as a whole is well oiled hence 3 stars and not 1. read more

Completed the PADI Open Dive certification with Diver's Paradise. They were super nice, communicative and professional in helping purchase gear (same prices as online but in their store), completing the online learning via PADI and running their dive boats. They don't overload the classes so you will get the attention you need. All the equipment was really organized and working well. The 4 open water dives were incredible and beyond my expectations as we visited Emerald Reef, Neptune Memorial and Biscayne Wreck. There were TONS of tropical fish to see and amazing colors. If you are looking to certify or for well run and experienced dive trips, this is the spot! read more

In my years of diving around the world, I've never experienced a situation where a dive master/guide lost us. But more shockingly was how the crew responded. I was wary when our guide told us it was his second day on the job and before descending he said "I'll follow you guys." (what??) It took him a while to orient to the right direction of the reef, but things took a turn for the worse when I started noticing the guide was swimming 25 to 30 feet away from us. It's not usual for them to be further from the group. I made it a point to stick with my dive buddy, but our guide kept floating further away. At one point we completely lost him. My buddy and I quickly flagged down a different guide from our boat and signaled we were missing our guide. He pointed in a direction and motioned us to swim that way (instead of having us to join them, which is typically what happens when someone gets separated). After swimming with no sign of our guide, I motioned to my buddy to do a safety stop, surface and try to find our guide. For anyone who dives knows this is protocol- groups are supposed to meet at the surface if they get separated. No guide. I yelled to the boat that we had lost our guide- they hadn't seen him and told us to go back down and "follow the bubbles." I yelled back, "aren't you concerned about safety?" The crew member (Ben) yelled back, "He's a master diver, he should be able to handle himself." I was shocked as was my buddy. Both of us felt it was completely unprofessional being told to go down and navigate without our lost guide who for all we know was in danger. Regardless of his certification level, what if his equipment failed?! We swam aimlessly (unable to find the reef) and eventually my buddy realized he only had 500 psi left in his tank. He surfaced, I did my safety stop and we got back on boat. I spoke to the captain right as the guide magically reappeared from the water with no apologies- just excuses. I explained to the captain that no one seems to care about safety, citing my buddy and I following protocol yet our guide not. His reply was "I'm glad you followed protocol, but I want to focus on how to make your next dive better." (Again, why are we glossing over the fact my buddy and I were stranded, he came back with next to no air and we were recommended to go back down alone and continue to aimlessly search for the very guide who we had been looking for). I told the captain I would only go back down with an experienced guide for the second dive. He nominated Ben. The staff took no accountability and downplayed the severity of the situation. I spoke to the manager at the dive shop, John, who said he would "debate" the situation with the crew after he had time to hear their side of the story. He also made sure to point out that the waiver I signed didn't provide a "private guide." When I questioned why we were paired with a Dive Master who was introduced to my and my buddy as "our guide" when we went through the briefing, John acknowledged that yes, they are supposed to guide the trips. I dunno what the heck is going on over there but I wouldn't recommend any divers, especially new divers, go with this company. I certainly won't be back myself. The 2 stars is because the boat and equipment are good- and the location is convenient. read more

My wife and I took a scuba certification class with Diver's Paradise, March 2021. My wife had a lot of apprehension and fear of diving before we began. Our instructor, Eduardo Navarro Suarez, did a superior job allaying her fears and easing her into scuba diving at a pace and with a presence that made her love it! I never expected that to happen. If you are a beginner, I highly recommend Divers Paradise. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Let me begin by saying I had absolutely zero experience prior to taking this course, not even snorkeling. My instructor was Gaby, who was calm, collected, patient, and most importantly beyond pleasant. She was very welcoming from start to finish and led the course with a confidence that made me feel very safe as a true beginner. Day 1 of the course was performed in an 8 foot pool adjacent to the office and was packed with skills that ensured we would be prepared to endure any challenges that would come at us in an actual dive. While some of them were likely to never be used, I'm glad we were taught everything in the rare case we would ever need to utilize them. Day 2 we took the skills we learned to the lake (weather did not permit us to go to the ocean as the waves were too strong). The lake itself is man made and about a thirty minute drive from the facility. You can drive there yourself but I opted to go in a van with my group and instructor. The visibility is very low in the lake, which really frightened me at first. Gaby the instructor was beyond patient with me, but also ensured the rest of the group was on track to finish. By the third day, I felt a lot more confident and passed the certification. I'm really excited to dive and owe this largely in part to Divers Paradise for the amazing curriculum and to my instructor Gaby, who was born to teach! Thank you read more

Had a phenominal dive with Divers Paradise. We went t two locations, Emerald Reef and the Remembrance Garden. Emerald reef was incredible. Water visibility was perfect. We could even see the bottom from the boat just looking down. Day didnt have any wind, so conditions were beyond perfect. In fact, the only thing that has ever come close to the conditions was in Maui 20 years ago. Tons of fish and staghorn and fan coral. Second dive was great-saw a school of barracuda. Such a great experience! Mine and my husbands first time scuba diving so we signed up for the discover class for beginners. You first practice in their pool and then head to the ocean for 2 different dives. Our instructor, Jeff, was AMAZING. He was super chill and informative on teaching us and was very patient in the process... even out in the ocean. Literally the best, i would recommend him if youre doing the discover class. He even helped take some vids for us because we wanted to both be in the shot at the same time. The facility was neat and staff was so nice! They even had a bbq and made us some burgers which was super sweet. On our first dive, i felt super comfortable as i was a little nervous at first. But after getting back on the boat, me and my husband unfortunately got seasick and didnt do the second dive. The crew on the boat were so nice about it. Just reassuring us that it happens to most and providing snacks and drinks for us. Everyone there helped make this such a great first time experience for us. read more

Easy booking online, but upon arrival we were told that an email had just been sent out about our trip being cancelled due to an insufficient number of bookings for that time. We were looking forward to snorkeling in Key Biscayne and planned our days here in Miami well in advance to make sure we could. Sending out an email that our booking is cancelled the morning of (less than 45 minutes beforehand) is not enough notice. Advice to management...call at least an hour in when you cancel. read more

Firstly, this place seems to exist primarily for instructors to bring students out for certification. If that's your situation it's OK. If you're already certified this is not a good place to dive out of, for a few reasons: Price Their website is a bit misleading imho, as it shows $75 for two dives, but the don't list out their extra $15,cylinder for air and $5 for weights. So you're paying $110 compared to $90 or less everywhere else. The premium price isn't worth it, especially when it comes with much poorer service. Nitrox We reserved nitrox tanks, but when we showed up they told us their (one???) analyzer broke and they had swapped us out for air. Cancelled Our Dive We reserved both morning and afternoon dives, and weren't told until after the morning dive they cancelled the afternoon one due to lack of divers. We had booked online and called a couple days earlier to confirm, which Omar did. They didn't email, call, or even tell us that morning that they cancelled the trip. Crew / Boat They were great, boat is comfortable, captain was cool, and the crew friendly. Captain went out of his way to try and get us booked on another company's boat for the afternoon (he succeeded but we declined since it was the same two sites). So I'd say this place is a hard pass. read more

Looking for a snorkeling adventure in the Miami area, someone suggested Divers Paradise so instead of driving an hour to Key Largo, we got the time of departure of the boat, made a reservation and headed out. We had our own gear but they do offer some for rent if you need it. On our boat there were two divers and another two couples for snorkeling. One instructor took the divers and another took us out. The captain of the boat, Brian was very nice, kept an eye on us from the boat while we swam around. It was a wonderful day, the captain and crew were very professional and nice. Next to the trailer they are building a nice permanent structure and pool where they will be doing the diving practice on premises. read more
