Here is an example of it; after I wrote my review here is how (text messages) he approached me. Attacking a customers character is never good First off I have to say the work and speed that their crew delivered was great. We love everything that they did for us. We had a number of requests for them to: 1. Build a deck near our pool with cover 2. Replace our fencing to hide the pool equipment 3. New fence towards the back of our property In the photos you can see how great it turned out. Now where they lost their stars is in communication and dealing with conflicts. 1st issue - We had a dumpster provided that they subcontracted and had a number of issues. James gave my husband the phone number to contact dumpster company and "deal with the issue". As a customer all issues pertaining to a subcontractor that THEY hired should have been handled by them and not us. 2nd issue - some of the fence posts they installed warped and we asked for them to come repair. We had to text and call about 10 times! We were given dates that someone would show up and then no one showed up and no communication about 5 times. Continuous calling and text had to occur with the same result. Then random out of the blue one day someone showed up to fix the fence and once again no communication to inform us they were coming nor after to check how the repair went. This process was extremely frustrating and clear that dealing with conflicts isn't their forte.

The craftsmanship was top-notch, and the crew was not only skilled but also very personable. I especially appreciated that the owner, Justin Wylie, stopped by to monitor the progress and offered some spot-on recommendations. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and my new deck looks amazing. I highly recommend All Pro Deck to anyone seeking to enhance their outdoor living space.

I hired Jason and his company to expand my top deck and to build me a water-proof ceiling…read moreunderneath the deck. He suggested we use Deckorators Composite Materials for waterproofing the deck. During the 1st rain after the deck was completed, we had water leaking from the ceiling and from where the deck connects to the house. After many attempts to reach Jason, he finally agreed to come and look at the problem. He saw where the slats were to far apart and water was coming through. He agreed to have his team come back out to fix the problem. They attempted to push the slats together and caulk around the end of the deck where it meets the house. After the next rain we had the same problem and Jason stated that the problem lied with the composite material he suggested, and they were faulty, and I needed to take the problem up with the manufacturer and he had no intention of losing money on this problem. I contacted the manufacturer, and they stated the fault was not in the materials, but the workmanship and they were not at fault. I have been contacting Jason for over a year to fix this problem and also to fix the slats from the ceiling that are bowing out. Jason does not respond to my calls or text messages and recently answered the phone serval months ago and said he was heading out of town with his family (his favorite excuse) and he would come out when he returned, never head back from him and continued to reach out and he finally responded a week ago ( having dinner with his family) and stated he had no intentions of taking a loss and I need to use this new product to fix the problem. I am writing this so that you future deck owners are not swayed by his promise of being available and is a family-owned business who cares about the customer. He does not, only cares about the profit he will make if its good or bad work. The deck comes with a 5 yr. Structure warranty, and he still will not hold up to his responsible. So, I highly advise you to look elsewhere for a reliable person and company that will build you a deck worth your investment. I have also attached some pictures of the work and problems.

It looks much better than I even hoped it would look. Kyle and Felicia were very responsive to our request for a quote and Kyle came out right away and provided a drawing and showed us samples of the deck material. The price was very reasonable, so we agreed upon a date to begin the work. The crew arrived on time, and worked diligently over a couple of days. Mike, the supervisor, kept a good eye on everything and was very helpful throughout the process. He thoroughly inspected the work once it was all finished. I was very impressed with how solid and strong the material was. The posts were made of cedar, and the construction was a quality job. The staining added the perfect finishing touch to our patio. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Integrated Outdoor Designs, and have recommended them to my neighbors.

Unfortunately, the workmanship behind the appearance felt rushed and required more homeowner oversight than expected. During framing, I had to raise several quality concerns that should have been caught by the crew, including misaligned roof framing, multiple anchor bolts with a split bottom plates, boards not sitting flush, and general issues related to a rushed job. These were not cosmetic issues, but basic workmanship and quality-control items. They also committed to returning to seal around the windows and have not followed through, leaving that item unfinished. It's been over two weeks since final payment. My advice to future customers is to inspect the work carefully as it progresses and not make final payment until all punch-list items are fully completed and verified. Once payment is made, unresolved items may remain unresolved. I also recommend reading some of the more critical reviews, as similar themes appear there as well.

I don't normally write a review. I had to consider it this time. I had an experience that I felt…read moreshould be shared. I had a project done for a very large rainwater collection system (55,000 gallon tank) on my home. The installer for the rainwater system recommended American Hill Country Gutters for the gutters. This review is only regarding the gutter portion of the project by AHC gutters. Throughout the initial project Mr. Johnson was okay to work with, except for a few periods of long wait times, lack of communication, and an occasional grumpy attitude. I can certainly understand a few bad days, no problem. After the new installation, I discovered the elbows at the top were not secured, and a few splash guards were not working as expected. There was communication between my rainwater collection installer and Mr. Johnson about making the changes. I called Mr. Johnson to ask about his schedule, and I was surprised to hear they were coming that same day (luckily I was home). When his employees arrived they were very nice. Initially the employee thought he was only addressing a couple of elbows. I explained that all of them needed to be checked. I asked him if he could show me what he needed to do. I was trying to explain my concern about the removable screens that needed to function on the leaf eaters below the elbows. I asked if there was a way to make it work. His phone rang while I was standing there, and it was his boss Mr. Johnson. The employee handed me the phone. I was not prepared for what came next. Mr. Johnson proceeded to yell at me, belittled me, told me I was stupid for listening to other opinions, told me I didn't trust his guys, and told me to shut up and let his guys do their job. It was actually worse than that, but you get the picture. Then he to yelled at his employee as well. I was in shock. After going in my house to settle down for a bit, I came back out to work with the employee. I felt sorry for him for being part of this behavior. Once he was all done I thanked him for doing the best that he could. After having some time to reflect on this, I realize how bad the situation really was. It is possible Mr. Johnson wasn't happy that he was called to do this. Maybe he didn't think he should be fixing it. I have no idea. That's no reason to take out frustrations on his staff and the homeowner. I remained calm and professional to him, and his employee. I reviewed the whole thing on my ring camera to reflect on the incident. I am pretty sure I won't get an apology. American Hill Country Gutters will not be returning for anything in the future, which was probably Mr. Johnson's goal all along. In summary, if you consider a major rainwater collection system on your home, please do not use American Hill Country Gutters for that portion of your project. When you read the other reviews about rudeness by the owner, believe them. He will take your money for an installation, but if he has to come back to fix anything, he changes his attitude. He is not a nice person, especially to women.
