On the scheduled day, they arrived on time, photographed placement of my plants and furniture, then carefully removed them and placed them in my driveway. They returned two days later to set any protruding screws, replace damaged boards and sand the deck, first by heavy power sander and then by hand. After clearing the sanding dust the new finish was carefully applied. You can tell he understands wood deeply -- how it behaves, how it breathes, and how to bring out its beauty in every detail. From the very beginning, he took the time to study the conditions of my house, plan carefully, and make the right recommendations. Every step of the project showed his dedication, precision, and love for quality work. Many parts of this deck could have been built in a simpler or faster way, but Kastus chose to do them right -- taking the extra time to make everything look beautiful and last longer. All the ideas you see in the photos started as rough concepts I had in mind. Kastus listened, added his own ideas, and together we created something even better than I imagined. I've worked with many contractors in my life -- I'm actually a contractor myself -- and I've never seen anyone with his level of care, patience, and commitment to excellence. In a time when most companies chase quantity over quality, finding someone like Kastus is rare. If you get the chance to hire him, you'll be working with a true woodworker -- someone who treats every project like a piece of art. I'm happy to provide references or even show you the project in person. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to come see his work or talk about my experience.

This involved tearing down stucco on two floors, replacing the damaged wood, installing new windows, adding insulation, and generally rebuilding the front side of my home to code. Jose was helpful every step of the way. The estimate was fair and the project did not stray from the original estimate. They passed every inspection without any issues and were clearly familiar with the permitting process in SF. They proactively identified issues with my new roof installation and replacement windows. Addressing these issues delayed the project, but ensured that the work they were doing wouldn't be compromised. There was also an area of damage that was not identifiable until the walls were torn down. Luckily, Jose had warned me ahead of time that this was possible, and the change order was reasonable. All the workers were respectful when entering my home and knowledgable in their craft. I asked many questions along the way and they took the time to help address any concerns I had. Thank you to Johnny and Zen who handled the carpentry work and Mariano and Benjamin who handled the painting! I would not hesitate to hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone considering a similar project.
