Initially, I was highly impressed with the owner, Scott. He presented himself so professionally that I made the big mistake of trusting him completely and didn't even seek an additional quote. That is a mistake I deeply regret. Once the nearly $47,000 project began, Scott never came on-site even a single time to supervise the work, leading to a catastrophic breakdown in quality control and professional conduct. The masonry work performed at my property has since been assessed by multiple independent industry professionals who have verbally clarified that the project is a total loss requiring a full removal and redo. The specific, documented issues include: Structural Damage to My Home: The concrete was poured without proper expansion joints, causing extreme lateral pressure that has physically buckled and warped the structural frame of my Four Seasons room sliding glass doors and damaged my siding. Sub-base Failure & Cracking: Severe structural cracks emerged rapidly due to an improperly compacted foundation and the complete omission of internal structural reinforcements like rebar or wire mesh. Safety and Conduct Breaches: The project suffered from a severe lack of professionalism, including a highly concerning on-site incident where a crew leader arrived under the influence of alcohol--a safety violation witnessed by myself and neighbors. When these structural defects were brought to their attention, management's only solution was to offer a minor balance waiver and an impossible surface "patch" rather than addressing the structural integrity of my home. Because the cost to fix their negligence far exceeds what was paid, I am letting the public know the truth. I have exhaustive photographic evidence of the defects, copies of all correspondence, and firsthand accounts documenting every single claim made in this review. SL Custom Construction built a custom pool deck for our above ground pool that is amazing! The…read morequality of the construction and materials has become a beautiful asset to our yard and the value of our house. I worked construction and was a mechanical engineer, so I know how to properly build a deck and I am frankly very particular how contractors create a foundation and their fit and finish of the visible decking and stairs. SL Customer Construction did it all right and with constant care and communications with me to be sure that we would be happy with the end result, as we very much are. We were also very pleased about some of the upgraded finish recommendations that they offered to me that have added several wow factors to what could have looked like just a functional pool deck without them. For example, using two colors of decking, a light gray and a charcoal to make a "picture frame" around the main deck, landing and each step of the stairway. They also made a custom main gate that matched the black railings, rather than use an out of the box gate that would have looked more like a jail cell gate. They also recommended using the charcoal decking color for the skirting all around to contrast the light gray decking boards and again, it looks fantastic! As with any complex construction project, there were a few bumps in the road along the way that caused some delays, such as the wrong length spindles that needed to be reordered. But, the SL team was also making sure that everything was done right and to my satisfaction, while responding to any issues quickly and appropriately. As a marketing and branding executive and consultant in my later career, I know that no business is perfect all the time, but the thing that defines a great from a fair business is how they respond to problems and issues, to create a positive customer experience. I live in the town of Greece where their requirements for construction projects is unusually difficult as they have specs that no other town in the county demands. I have worked with the town permit desk directly and working with the town is a frustrating experience to comply with their sometimes unreasonable specs. SL worked directly with the town of Greece for the permit on our pool deck project and they passed the three required on-site inspections with flying colors. SL owner Scott suggested that they build the town required landing/platform a step lower that the main deck level so that they did not have to have the whole side of the railings a foot higher than the rest of the railings as the town demanded. By lowering the landing, he was able to get town approval with only the safety gate a bit taller than the rest of the railings that still meet the town spec at standard height. I definitely recommend SL Custom Construction for your next custom construction project and I have already discussed a couple future projects for our home with SL's owner Scott. DJ was able to arrange an estimate the following day and arrived promptly on the day and time agreed upon. After viewing the project, DJ offered his advice and expertise on how to best achieve our desired results. He said he would provide a detailed quote the following day and true to his word he did so. We hired DeDe Construction & DJ provided a start date and a detailed day by day timeline of the work to be completed. DJ and his partner Oleg arrived on time each day and went directly to work, completing the daily tasks expertly, efficiently and with attention to detail. From precise cuts on tile, to double waterproofing appropriate areas in the bathrooms, they always strove to doing the best possible job in every aspect of their work. Communication during the project was exemplary and we were shown the progress of their endeavors during each phase of the remodel, so that we were satisfied with the quality of the work performed. During our entire interaction with DJ and Oleg, they were always friendly, courteous and respectful to us and our home, cleaning up at the end of each day. DJ even voluntarily picked up several items we had purchased from various stores that were too large for our vehicle, with no qualms about doing so. DJ and Oleg completed the remodel of the three bathrooms ahead of schedule and the quality of the work, of which my expectations were high, was better than I expected. They showed first-rate dedication and workmanship providing prime, aesthetically prominent results. Best advantage that this company has going for them is the following... yes you can hire them as a General Contractor to completely restore and remodel your property. BUT while most GCs wont touch the job themselves and you instead will have 17 different sub contractors. But with CJM we saw Chad, Joe and Brian virtually every day. Each specialized in many different areas, meaning the GUYS YOU HIRED TO REMODEL YOUR KITCHEN, BATH, RESURFACE YOUR HARDWOODS, DRYWALL AND FINISH YOUR BASEMENT AND BUILD A SWEET TWO TIER DECK OUT BACK...... ARE ALL THE SAME GUYS! THE CJM TEAM! Oh and the work is second to none (chad is a drywall master, joe is an electrical and plumbing genius, and brian refinished hardwoods like he does it daily). Without having to upcharge for commission from sub contractors, they can pass the SAVINGS through to us as customers and also there isnt that sub vs GC type of unaccountability. Even in the two areas that they did sub out the work (siding and some carpeting) the carpeting guy, Jason, acted just like a CJM team member, praised them and never tried to go behind their back. Showing an very solid cohesive existing relationship there. The siding guy was also a family friend they had known for years and any issues we did have with them, we passed to Chad joe or brian and it was quickly handled and everything went the way it was supposed to. I couldn't be happier with these guys. Last thing, not once did they try to nickle and dime me and on more than a couple occasions Chad actually came to me at progress payment time with "good news" and explained how he was able to drop the price due to something that had happened. He always passes savings thru, while 99% of others do not!. Some patch work was required, did that, roof joints were cleaned and sealed, then the whole roof was sealed. Good for 5 to 7 years, all at the agreed on price. Could not be happier with the professionalism of the tech, the work performed, etc. Sales/Assessment Rep, was good, fair evaluation, reasonable price, no wild absurd claims or up sell approach. Just gave me what I wanted and needed. Over very good job and fine folks to speak with, will call them again for my next home project when needed. What more could a home owner expect?

I will definitely call A&E Professionals the next time I need something done. All in all, a very pleasant transaction!
