Both seem fairly popular (The Square One Location seems really busy). The vibe is really calm, happy, and welcoming. The staff are really nice and helpful when a customer has questions. They have many popular characters toys and accessories, lifestyle, skin and hair products from Korea and Japan. The prices seem similar (sometimes a bit pricey) to similar stores but seem to have decent quality.

I remember the Markham one had a lot more of the miscellaneous category. This one had one of the Disney posture plushies (Lotsa) but not as many as the other place. I did find the perfect gifts for my friend. They had Disney hand creams and a Kirby zodiac hand cream series! Finally, Face Shop opened and I was so surprised on how much they stocked and at the reasonable prices. Considering its all directly imported from overseas, a lot of these were less than Sephora and Bay prices for most medium line skincare. There is a lot of incredible knowledgeable and friendly staff here who didn't oversell me. They knew exactly what to try to get what I wanted (that porcelain skin but highly reactive to vitamin C). I really appreciated how they gave a cute gift with purchase and also a few samples for me to try when I bought my Belif brightening natural face mask. I've used it for a few days so far and the staff was completely right. It gave a lot of moisture with zero reaction. Now I'm hoping to see the brightening effect over time! When I asked for the HR phone number, I was told they "don't give that out," which made no sense and only added to the frustration. After I stated that the situation was absurd, the employee accused me of being rude and refused to help any further. Since she was unwilling and clearly not in a position to resolve the issue, I walked away and received assistance from another employee without any problem. Overall, this interaction was handled very poorly, completely unprofessional and lacked basic customer service skills.

Shay said that they need the same credit card in order to refund me, which I did not have at the time. I explained that I waited a very long time in line and I work every day. I would be unable to come back before the refund period is up. Shay said that there were no options beyond a store credit, which was not what I wanted. I asked her to explore other options, and she said that she would get her other manager who "would tell me the same thing she told me". The second manager was actually very helpful and provided a shipping label so that I could ship the items back and have a refund automatically go onto the credit card that I didn't have in possession. I said "Shay, you see she did not repeat what you said, and there are other options" she then was very rude and rolled her eyes, stating that she didn't need life advice from me. I don't believe that the customer is always right, but I do believe that it is our job to go to every extent to find the best possible solution for our customers. Eye rolling and poor communion skills don't make for a good customer experience.

The employee who was working there this afternoon was very helpful. He helped my sister pick out rollers and he gave me tips on how to improve my hair dying technique. The products they sell here are affordable and if you purchase their membership card ($5), you can save 10-15% on your purchases. If you're looking to find the typical brand name beauty or hair product, you won't be able to find them here. I'm not sure why but they sell brands that I have never heard of before.

I went in the other day to pick up some hair and nail stuff. I was surprised at how small the store was, having only been exposed to the chain in the states. The guy working there- can't remember his name - was fabulous and helped me pick out some stuff that did the trick even though they didn't carry what I'd originally come in for. All in all I am super excited that Sally's is here and even though they don't have everything that they do down south, it works!
