I do not recommend this store. I've made multiple purchases from A-OK Bathroom and Tile, and…read moreunfortunately, each experience has led to disappointment. It began with bathroom faucets that started leaking shortly after installation due to faulty cartridges. Most recently, I purchased a modern thermostatic shower system, which arrived missing a crucial support bracket. Even more concerning, the cartridge inside the system is also defective--hot water stops after about 15 minutes and doesn't return. Communicating with the store has been extremely difficult. There also seems to be a lack of product knowledge--staff were unfamiliar with what a cartridge was or how to replace one. I eventually had to find a photo online just to explain what I was referring to. After that, I was told a replacement would be ordered from their supplier and to follow up in a couple of weeks. When I followed up (both by phone and text), I was told the store owner would come to my home to inspect the issue--despite not being a licensed plumber. That visit never happened. I was then asked to visit the store in person, where I was offered a replacement shower system that I had already seen lying around the store weeks prior. It had no packaging and visible scratches, yet I was told it was brand new. After driving twice from Pickering to Markham, I was still left without the missing support bracket. Despite multiple follow-ups, I was eventually told the part was no longer available--even though the same shower system is still being sold in-store. This business has been unreliable, unhelpful, and difficult to work with. The customer service is lacking, and the quality of products is questionable. It was pricey to have the shower unit installed by a contractor and now, I will have to pay hundreds more to have a plumber install the replacement, which I'm not certain if it will work any better than the first. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for bathroom fixtures and supplies.

The Home Basics has the feel of a Dollar Store. The goods are lying everything and some goods are even similar but they charges a lot more! The spaces is really clammed and there are hardly any Japanese imported goods, most of them are from China or their cheaper versions. I don't mind browsing around, but I don't think I will be doing a lot of buying in here! The parking lot can get busy and crazy during prime grocery shopping time and weekends!

Those rebates can range from $20 to $80 depending on how expensive the item is. I came here to purchase a hot water dispenser and received a $20 coupon rebate card, but was not allowed to use it till my next visit. On my next visit, I tried to use the $20 coupon card on a small Rice Cooker that came with a $80 rebate coupon. The sales staff told me I can't use the $20 on an item that had a coupon offer. So after purchasing the rice cooker, I had $100 to spend. The problem is, the rest of the products this store carries are made in China and Dollar Store quality with escalated prices. The shoe rack on display had visible cracks and splints and a storage trolley was missing a wheel. So, at the end, I don't know if that $100 credit is worth anything. The service here is horrible. The sales staff must be on commission - they stand right beside you like hawks, with stoney, unfriendly expressions and follow you around the store even if you don't have any questions to ask. They will tell you how great a product is, if you ask. (Seriously, pick any product) Overall, unpleasant shopping experience - would not return.

Don`t let the elegant appearance fool you, the quality of kitchen faucets is poor. Stick to the flooring, and anything that has no moving parts. I bought a Como brand kitchen faucet and paid $150.00 for it, thinking it would be good quality. Looks are deceiving, and the price led me to believe that I was buying a good quality faucet but I was wrong. It was easy to install, it looks beautiful, but you only have 2 choices of water temperature.... scalding hot or freezing cold. There is no way to moderate the water temperature. It`s almost impossible to get a balanced warm temperature. I am either scalding my hands, or freezing them. The faucet is complete garbage, and now I have to buy a new faucet because I didn`t return it, so that`s on me. However, I thought I would get used to the horrible temperature settings after a few weeks, but alas, I was incorrect in my assumption. I will now go to Home Depot and get a Kohler or Moen.

We finally have the contractors come in today and when we took it out of the box we noticed that the bottom was chipped in 2 locations. These were at the bottom so I couldn't see them without taking them out of the box, so they went unnoticed until today. Called the company and was essentially told "tough luck, we have a policy that customers are responsible for damage after 24 hours. We can refer you to a repair guy and you can fix it on your dime". During the phone call they kept referring to their policy which is posted on their website. I went there afterwards and it says "...on occasion, there may be a manufacturer product defect. Rest assured, we will stand by YOU during this process and make sure we do everything we can... at no expense to you. For us to offer this level of service, however, we need a little help from the customer in the form of a detailed product inspection immediately upon delivery. This will make things much easier if you decide to return the item." Nice customer service there. Sure, I guess I didn't thoroughly inspect it immediately when I got it home, but so much for "we will stand by YOU". These guys won't even offer any discount for the broken junk or to cover part of repairs, citing that the sale was low margin. Lol, what a piece of junk company. I now have a beautiful new bathroom with a chipped bathtub centerpiece. How does a place like this have such good reviews?

I was looking for quite a few different items since we're renovating most of the house. However, DirectBuy was more expensive compared to what I could find locally or online, especially after factoring in all their hidden charges for mark-up, handling or shipping (and most items don't even ship to the home - you have to pick it up from the store or pay a second shipping fee to have another company ship it from the store to your home). One thing I liked when I signed up is they have this minimum guaranteed savings (e.g., hardwood flooring could be a minimum 20% cheaper guaranteed than any price available to the public). The problem was the staff in-store refused to honour this guarantee, providing different non-nonsensical excuses. Add to this their completely antiquated e-commerce website where you need to click through to the checkout page before you can see the true cost for an item, and this was all a huge waste of time. Don't bother with the travel side of the company either. I just got another telemarketing call from them and the guy wouldn't tell me what the fees were, at first pretending like my membership was still valid in his system, and kept on just beating around the bush. Save your time, save your money and avoid this terrible company.
