    Irani chai

My wife and i visited this restaurant and tried out few dishes. The overall ambiance is nice and service excellent. They greet you with smile and have a welcoming atittude. First of all the chai is really good. Bun shami is a bit dry but worth a try. My wife really liked the Bun Maska. Rumali Roti is a speciality that you don't get in many restaurant. It was good and chicken65 was average. The quantity of chai, chicken65 dish is decent.

Best chai I've had in a long time. Chai is delicious, amazing, perfectly sweet. Zafrani chai has a delicate saffron flavor. I wanted to share this secret place with all the other chai lovers out there.

I heard good reviews about this restaurant and was excited when I heard they opened a new one in Pleasanton so I went on the opening weekend. They have simple menu which makes it easier to order and it is like we have to order the food and pick a table and then grab your food when it is ready. Almost everything is self serve. The prices are reasonable. My family and I ordered chai, chicken 65 with rumali roti and bun maska. Chai was good, definitely different than the typical ones. The chicken 65 is ok as it is semi gravy not the crispy dry one. The rumali roti is a thin layer and it is better to have it when it is hot. Bun maska is bread with butter in the middle a good combination with the chai. We got our food fairly quickly, and I liked that you could see the rumali rotis being made in the open kitchen. However, I was disappointed with the restroom. Since the place had just opened, I expected it to be clean and well-maintained, but it was quite the opposite. I really hope they address this soon.

TLDR: Food with a spicy kick and decadent dessert. Good saffron tea as well. - Onion Samosa has a nice kick to it. Good texture and ratio of filling to dough. - Lokmi has a bit of extra dough for the shape and it puffs up. Make sure to get some chutney with the bites of filling to bring it together. The chutney has a spicy kick. Not very gamey. - Bun Shaami is tender and juicy on the inside, and has a nice texture overall. Not very gamey. It has a spicy kick to it. - Zafrani Chai has a good texture like evaporated milk, and you can taste some cardimon. - Shaahi Tukda is quite sweet and decadent. I recommend having it with some tea. Everything was good, but my favorites were the Bun Shaami and Zafrani Chai. I wouldn't mind rotating the other items when I visit. Service with a smile rounds out the experience. You order at the register, get a pager, and pick up your food at the counter.

A good place for a tea apart from that chicken Shawarma or any other items in the shop is not good compared to the other branches

Bad Service and food. They don't treat customers well. Messed up the order but still act like it was no fault of theirs.

Love their Irani chai. This place is clean and has enough seating though most of their patrons will grab and go.

It was on the spicier side but a good spice level. One of the employees who I presume was the owner was telling us they are planning many to do hibachi style with a mix of Indian, Japanese, Italian, and American. Hence the grills. Service was fine. It was a bit difficult to get ahold of service at times but in their defense, there was a large party that came in after us. Great for groups!

Walked around the building looking for the entrance. Tripped at least once on uneven payment. Upon entering I was greeted, given a menu, assigned a seat at the bar. Seeing it was a drink menu, I asked for a food menu. After consultation with bartender, I ordered. He gave order to waitress. Never saw him again. 5ish minutes later, waitress came over to inquire what I wanted to drink. "Water" i replied. Water came 12 minutes later with my food. Offerings: South India fare: soup, entrees, salads, entrees, vegetarian, non-vegetarian. Also pasta, India habachi. Bites: Dakshin Chicken Chettinad (18.99) med. Spicy. Small bowl with big spoon -boneless chicken pieces slowly braised in a savory with many spices (garlic, cumin, black pepper, star anise, funnel seeds, kok slaps...), south curry leaves, and coconut. Every bite deliz. -very condensed savory mix with plentiful Unami. Hotness from peppers not chilis. Tandoori garlic naan (3.99) ordered this. Got plain. Tasted plain. Not spiciness. Desired garlic not to repel vampires but to lower my cholesterol. Didn't discover discrepancy till I checked receipt. When finished, I asked the new bartender for bill. He called waitress. She came over and asked can she clear plates? "Ok" I said. She did and disappeared. Asked bartender again for my bill. Decor is lots of bright lites, big dining area, 2 flatscreens tuned to sports. A fish tank with no fish, lots of hanging faux leaves from ceiling & the left wall. 3.5 stars Food wonderful. Service & decor underwhelming. Doubtful repeat.

We went for lunch at first; had the thali (both veg- & non-veg). Wow! Excellent quality - succulent, aromatic, just the right flavors. Almost felt home-cooked. Liked it so much, we were there the next day too. And again in another couple of days! The quantity is enough for two (depending on how hungry you are, of course). Also, the Staff is great - courteous & patient. Vamsi is the man! We had an event at home shortly after, so thought we'd try their catering too. They have a great "Dosa Package" - an appetizer, unlimited dosas, biriyani, dessert, and a beverage. This was a great hit with all our guests. Srini, the owner, was great to work with. Tip: Dosa batter is fantastic! We plan to get it from there going forward. All in all, a real treasure in good old Pleasanton. We are new "regulars", and plan to continue for a while.

I don't really give out 5 stars unless I'm really blown but i do think this is a good intro meal to Pollichathu.
