Ken sold his ownership at the end of the year. he knew something and should have share it with me. this facility has excellent equipment, but the most rude and unfriendly staff and membership of any gym I've ever been in. 6 months in, I wish i could withdraw. The owner is in a wheelchair and I ve a family member who's also in a wheelchair and spoke thinking we might have something in common. No. He's bitter, angry, rarely smiles, looks away if you try to even try to make eye contact He acts like I put him in that chair and he's doing me a favor by letting me use his gym. Ridiculous. The trainers are the most common people in the gym. Initally they speak to you in hopes you hire them and when you dont they blackball you. This is the most unfriendly gym I've ever attended and would leave if they would refund my remaining money. So disappointed. Just a a sespool of sadness. i regret joining. No way I would renew and im 2 blocks away. Awful people and i don't know how they are still in business.

Questionable cleanliness. I see no wiping if equipment. Dark gray tired looking space. Trainers are contractors and no training is included in membership. I recently tried out Crossfit Terminus and I was not very impressed. This box has plenty of space…read moreto accommodate the small classes, but there are other boxes in the area with better equipment (and a lower monthly rate). Crossfit Terminus requires you to take two to four weeks of foundation classes before working out with the rest of the gym at scheduled times. The class I attended was a foundation class (they let you try one for free before joining). Most Crossfit boxes do require you to take a foundation class or two before joining, but 2-4 weeks seems outrageous to me. I have been crossfitting for awhile and I filled out a survey before coming to this box but I felt like none of my previous experience was taken into consideration. Quite frankly the class I attended was a joke. I understand scaling workouts down to accommodate mobility or form issues, but I left this gym feeling unsatisfied. Emily is one of the main coaches and taught the class I attended. She was knowledgable and fun. She had a lot of good advice on my form for rowing and pushups, as did Ben (the other main coach). However knowledgable he was, Ben was not friendly at all and he was borderline rude to me, and the box members I worked out with didn't seem very welcoming. Crossfit Terminus definitely has quality coaching, but I could not get past the rude factor as well as the many required foundation classes. Part of the reason I do crossfit is because I love the class atmosphere and camaraderie (as well as a grueling workout). I have been to a lot of gyms and if you're looking for a crossfit gym I would absolutely try out other boxes in the area before committing to this one. Perhaps if you're a beginner this is a good place to try, but if you're a more advanced Crossfitter I would take your business elsewhere.

Now I normally don't leave reviews.. Good or bad. I'm going out of my way to do this because I left…read morethis place feeling extremely disappointed. I walked with the typical questions about joining. First, the "owner" was VERY rude, arrogant, and un-welcoming. The members did not introduce themselves. I was shocked at how at how unprofessional it was. If you are a friendly, family oriented person- this place is not for you. These people are rude. I love crossfit, but this gym is definitely NOT getting my money.

I have…read moreabout a moderate fitness level and have worked out at various private gyms for the last 5 years or so and was searching for somewhere closer to my home and in a smaller space with a different vibe. An Instagram ad got me in the door and I signed up for the 1-week trial. After being on a month and a half sabbatical from my last gym, I didn't find the cardio class to be as difficult as I thought it would be. I thought the pacing of the class was good and several people advised me before and during the class to take breaks if/when I needed to. I also took a strength training/weight class that I didn't find particularly difficult to get through and the trainer offered modifications to exercises as needed. What I really like: 1. They show you the moves before the class and they are also displayed on the screens as you move through the workout. 2. Small classes, I think the classes I've taken average about 15-20 people moving at whatever pace they need to. 3. Variety of classes and times available. There are several classes in the morning and the afternoon which are spaced out well for folks that may prefer early morning or evening. 4. Scheduling through the app is super easy and convenient, I've scheduled up to the day of a class. I really like this place and I look forward to coming here regularly. It's definitely not as overwhelming as one of the bigger chain gyms, I think the class sizes are somewhere around 15-20 and it's just a really good vibe for my fitness needs. Also, as someone who was paying $300/month at a private gym for semi-personal training, the pricing at F45 is a steal and I wish I'd found them sooner.

It almost as if I'm not a customer, but a part of the gym. Then again, that was what I wanted. When I first got to the area, I knew that finding a new CrossFit gym was one of the more important things that I would do. I just needed to make sure I would be going to the right one. I tried 2 others that are much closer to where I live, but they just didn't hold up under my scrutiny. CrossFit RX has several advantages that I noted. 1) Varied workouts. Not only from day to day, but within the workouts themselves. Also, even though all of the coaches are excellent, they all seem to help you in a different way. 2) Pretty much daily flexibility work. The other boxes I tried only skimmed over flexibility work. 3) Lots of instruction. I like to think that I'm pretty good at CrossFit after 4 years, but I still get lots of pointers and it really helps. I think it is easy to slip into bad habits. Quality coaching reduces that tendency. 4) The community is top notch. I go at the same time every day and I have gotten to know a lot of the men and women who also go at that time. There's also special workouts that the whole gym will try to attend and they have a celebratory atmosphere. Everyone also encourages everyone else. So, come to CrossFit RX, we'll welcome you and make you sweat.

Let's face it. I'm a "No Pain No Pain" kind of guy. My wife runs 10Ks on the regular; I don't even…read morelike to DRIVE 10K. Unfortunately, seeing my growing gut and my even faster growing kid, I realized that it's about time to do things. And since my aforementioned wife had already joined the Crossfit cult, she harangued me to join Crossfit Grant Street. Oh, don't think I didn't harbor a hefty dose of skepticism. It also didn't help that most of the people I'd already seen there during my initial assessments were wearing some old t-shirts of whatever college team they were on. Notice, I didn't say, "cheered on," I said, "were on." Was I ever on a college team? Does mathlete count? Beer pong? Not to mention, I went to college back in the pre-Internet dark ages, where faces and books were two different, unrelated things. So yeah, I may be new to the entire working out thing, but at least I'm also really, really old. As I said, skepticism. Fortunately, the gym owners/coaches understand my particular set of...challenges and adjust accordingly. It also helps to leave your ego at the door. Like when I told my doctor I started Crossfit at my annual physical (or what my millennial co-workers call it, "Wait, you go EVERY year?!"), doc responded, "At your age...." (Those sentences never end well. ) "...I don't usually think Crossfit is a good idea. You're surrounded by a bunch of 20 year olds and you try to do what they do and end up hurting yourself." I laughed and responded, "Uh, no. I know my limits. You forget that I've been married long enough that my ego was obliterated years ago. I've already accepted the fact that my wife can deadlift more than I can so I have no problem asking my coaches to scale it down." Doc gave her blessings after hearing that. So I'm a few months into it. I don't go to class every day, though I could if I wanted to. I have the shirt, but I feel bad wearing it since I haven't gotten rid of my gut yet. I've gotten to know many of my fellow gymmates and they're good folks; I don't think they realize how old and broken down I am, but the coaches do and that's what counts since they're the ones scaling my workouts. I'm not part of the cult, but all those years of fighting Sunday School class has built up my resistance towards indoctrination. Still, my body is reshaping itself slowly but surely. I may never be a jock (I'm too much of a nerd at heart), but I'm adding a few more attribute points to my character sheet. I'm all right with that.

First off, I am pretty great at writing reviews, so brace yourself! (this is literally my second…read morereview ever.... oops) I never thought In a million years that I would workout almost daily, let alone doing Crossfit. My husband has been doing CF for over 5 years, he's incredible at it...... and thats incredibly intimidating. I have seen the transformation from the front line, I wanted it, but the CF cultish, scary strong people thing scared the shit out of me!!!! So i joined ClassPass and literally tried everything I could, Spin, Yoga, Bare, Pilates, boxing, kickboxing and everything in between. I just wanted an effective program that would give me a bigger ass and a body that would fit into the category of 'sexy as F***'! Pretty obtainable goal right!! I can guarantee that if i walked into any other gym 4 months ago, I would still be sitting on the New Years resolution of 'Get in Shape'. Thankfully I walked into this amazing space, filled with positivity and encouragement. I genuinely enjoy spending the best/worst hour of my day with everyone at this gym! The coaches are wonderful people and they are pretty good at coaching too (really good). The gym is spacious & SUPER CLEAN. you may be working out somewhere else or maybe just wishing you worked out in general. The community that is CrossFit Grant Street will support you and push you to be the best version of yourself! I am still a long way from my dream ass and my sexy AF bod- but my mental, physical and emotional strength and well-being has grown immensely!!! I owe it to this Fit-Fam! and to myself! Life can be uncomfortable at times, and CrossFit Grant Street taught me how to thrive in that uncomfortable-ness. xoxo
