The park is not that large by any means but it is nice to visit if you are near the area. It is next to an elementary school so you should be aware of the times and hours you visit. There are lots of things to choose from when coming here. Things this park has include a small basketball court, a tennis court, a small disc golf course and some picnic tables. The Court is split in half because there's a tennis area in the middle of both of them so if you wanted to play full Courts it's definitely not possible. The rims are bad and there's no gate around the Courts so if you miss you gotta run a mile just to go get the ball. The configuration is unique so it doesn't feel like a carbon copy of other spaces. I'll always think of this park as "caterpillar playground" despite the large climbing caterpillar having been taken out years ago. The zip line has also been taken out. There's an area for little kids with a mini-slide, little chalkboards and a bubble to peek through. On the big kids side there's a big climbing rope web, a big slide and a unique kid-launching rocker. If you fear heights, this is not the playground for you, lol. The location really can't be beat - some lawns nearby where you can kick a ball around or throw a frisbee. There's also a creek with plenty of rocks to climb on. There's a handicap-accessible porta-potty in the parking lot if you need it. Parking can be tight on weekends, but there are several adjacent parking lots and it's a pleasant walk. Grab a coffee and settle in at one of the picnic tables or benches. You may meet a Lakewood neighbor!

There are several…read moreareas that kids enjoy, and the expanse of the park can be viewed safely (with a few rules) from the picnic pavilion, which provides the kids with a 'free range' experience that is hard to come by these days. The only downside is the lack of any restroom facilities at all, which is not that big of a deal with some planning.
