The phone number is incorrect. I really need these meetings for my class assignment. I live in the SFV so, I need one near me. Thanks!

There was no clear leadership response or removal. Separately, I was invited by a member to an off‑site party connected to this community. After that event, I experienced sudden disorientation and memory loss inconsistent with my alcohol intake. I went to the hospital, was evaluated for head trauma (none found), and the attending physician concluded I was most likely drugged (e.g., roofied). What was most alarming was the response afterward. Rather than concern or accountability, multiple people connected to this group aggressively pushed a narrative that I "just got too drunk" or "hit my head," even after being informed of the medical evaluation stating otherwise. The takeaway was clear: when something serious happens, this community protects itself -- not women who are harmed. There is insufficient leadership, security, or safety protocol to protect members, especially femmes. If your personal safety matters to you at all, I would strongly recommend steering clear.

The swim instructors are wonderful and it's been a positive environment for our family. We were informed that non-members are only allowed to participate in swim lessons for a limited period (12 weeks). The fact that we were able to enjoy the club for nearly a year was an exception. We understood and respected the policy. Because we liked the club and have many friends who are members, we decided to move forward with a membership-- paying the significant initiation fee. However, after joining, we learned that some non-members we've seen in the past are now able to enroll in swim lessons by having member friends sign them up. This workaround seems to be very unfair, which makes the enforcement of the policy feel inconsistent. We've also heard ongoing concerns from members about how non-member participation in swim lessons can make scheduling more competitive. While we understand this from both sides, especially since we were recently non-members ourselves, it does highlight a broader issue around fairness and how benefits are structured. Members should always be given the priority. It's disappointing because we made a significant financial commitment based on what we were told. Greater clarity and consistency in how these policies are applied would go a long way in building trust and ensuring all members feel they are receiving the value they signed up for.

Membership is only $12 a year for an individual or $18 a year for a couple so you can't beat that! Most meetings also have a raffle for plants and cuttings from the members' gardens and the show has a FABULOUS raffle of prizes donated by local businesses! It has Internal Revenue Code 501 (c) (3) non-profit status. Membership is open to anyone interested in plants, gardening and the environment. The Club has more than 100 members ranging in age from 8 to 94 years old. Members live in a wide geographic area and reflect the area's diversity and varied living arrangements. Members include both novice gardeners and experts. The CCGC is a general interest club and does not focus on just one kind of plant or one aspect of gardening. Activities The Club usually meets on the first Tuesday of each month. Most meetings include a "Show, Tell & Ask" session, a speaker presentation, and refreshments. The meetings are free and open to the public, and one needn't be a member to attend. The Club prepares and distributes a Monthly Newsletter with timely garden tips for each month, a calendar of gardening and plant events throughout the Southland and information about the scheduled speaker. We also sponsor a Garden Hop where we visit some members' homes. At least since 1953, the Club's primary public event is its Garden Show, held annually in the Veterans' Memorial Auditorium. Last year, the Show attracted an estimated 400 attendees and more than 250 plants were entered. The Show features a Plant and Flower Exhibition, Gardening Education Workshop and a Plant/Gardening Supplies Sale. Admission is free and always has been.

When he called and asked if I had ever been here, I responded and said no-to which he added that it was understandable being that "Joe Blow" can't just come in here and plop down for a bite-you need to be invited by a current resident and be placed on the guest list. If you want to be transported back in time, specifically either the 70s or 80s on a Friday night, you'll definitely want to come in and dine. The crowd is a nice mix of resonance or friends and or associates of the residents who live there. And while it's certainly not an assisted living home, the average age of the crowd when we attended was certainly on the north side of 60, and for over half of them pushing 70 easily. The ambiance, physical structure, layout & features (both overt and subtle) of the Dockside restaurant mirrored that (era/time/age of the location in every way-and in this particular case I would argue that's a good thing. My guest and I both went ahead and ordered the chicken tender salad, with him opting for blue cheese and myself going with ranch for the dressing. We both agreed it was better than average. Since I don't do alcohol, I didn't order any drinks, but he stated the two drinks he did order were excellent.
