They arrived on time, did a thorough job, and got stains that had been there for a long time.

We called and got her in right away, and it already seems to be improving after only a few days. We received a call from them to follow up, which was greatly appreciated. Today I was desperate to find someone who could help her with her skin allergies and eventually her teeth. After searching the web I found Center Veterinary Clinic and they had glowing reviews so I decided to give them a try and an added bonus I could get her in same day and it was Saturday! All the staff were so nice and dealt with my emotions in such a respectful and caring way. My dogs are my family so I don't trust just anyone with their care. Dr. Turna was efficient and explained clearly what was needed and showed me all the costs before doing anything on my dog. Although still expensive as vet services generally are it was necessary and nothing extra and I agreed to treatment. My dog was treated with respect and gentle care. The nurses and front desk staff were so kind and knowledgeable about the medications I received to take home. I walked in a desperate and very stressed dog mom and left able to breathe and know that my dog will be on the mend from a skin infection and ear infection that was worse than I even realized. This place is wonderful and while I would love to keep it a secret to myself so they don't get too busy I will be generous and express how great they are and it's way worth sending your animals here. Thank you to all the staff for taking such good care of my sweet pup and me! We have found our new primary vet!

This review is specifically about Dr. Mellisa Hart, a veterinarian at South Novato Animal Hospital…read more Plainly, I can't say enough good things about her both as a person and as a brilliant and caring veterinarian. Maybe this resonates with some-- the feeling that some vets have lost track of the essence of why they (hopefully) became a vet; that is to help animals with compassion and aggressive medicine. I always want my vet to approach the care of my pets, which are family members, the same way I would want a human physician to take care of those I love. This is exactly who Dr. Hart is. She will diagnose, treat and follow up in all the right ways. You don't get the feeling that you just dropped some hundreds of $$ and that's it, a wish of good luck and any further contact is a new appointment, often weeks away for several more $$. I am not saying her services are necessarily less expensive than vet care in the bay area-- what I am saying is the quality is better, the care and concern is authentic and the follow up is particularly unique. You will continue to have contact to fully understand whatever is going on as well as additional recommendations, whether medication based or diagnostic. She doesn't upsell but does follow through and her care for the pets is undeniable. I simply cannot recommend Dr. Melissa Hart more.

A few years ago we started seeing Dr. Ortiz and absolutely love her! Because I like to build a relationship with our vet much like my own personal physician, I make routine appointments specifically asking for Dr. Ortiz. Sometimes we get scheduled with her and sometimes not, which I find unacceptable. To secure time with Dr. Ortiz, I waited a month and accepted a time way later in the day than I like for a recent routine appointment. Only once we were in the exam room, I was told that we would be seen by a different vet. I get that things come up and appointments change, but I see a pattern with this that I don't appreciate. And while I always voice my concerns, I feel like nobody even cares anymore. I think this clinic's business model no longer meets my needs and I will be looking for a new vet.

The vet techs repeatedly gave my cat the wrong dose of pain medication. When I called about it, a whiny and incredibly rude receptionist snapped "I don't know what to tell you." What a bizarre response. The medicine in question is based upon my cat's weight and I discovered they were continually giving him too low a dose. He was clearly within a prescribed weight. Rather than take responsibility and apologize to me, she and everyone actually blamed me and began ganging up on me. The vet, Doug Evans, called me an hour or so later and went into a rage about how veterinarians are killing themselves and also screamed at me about all the medications the vet techs have to know - and don't I realize that? What? I should feel sympathy for THEM because they don't know how to properly medicate my pet that I PAY them to do? Of course, I was upset that my cat was getting improper care for his pain and even more upset that when I called about it I was treated dismissively at first, then with a how dare I complain attitude! What bothered them was that I had the temerity to get angry about their incompetence, and their dismissive, strange behavior that caused us harm. The vet actually made a ridiculous analogy that he doesn't get mad at whoever answers the phone when he has to call about a question on his credit card. So, my cat's suffering at his and his clinic's hands was being compared to a credit card call! The receptionist actually said to me "you're not being very nice to me right now" in her whiny, childish voice. I'm not being nice to her? I would not have become angry except for her dismissive tone and attitude with me, leaving me hanging with "I don't know what to tell you." She was completely incapable of empathy and completely hostile. She was the rude one, not me. The state board should shut the place down. That vet, Evans, screaming at me about the suicides of his colleagues definitely needs to stop practicing. Not only is he horrible and insensitive, he needs to be held accountable for his disturbing behavior. I did nothing wrong but THEY DID. As verified in my records. These people are absolute jerks. They caused me so much stress and they hurt my cat. Stay well clear.
