They arrived on time, did a thorough job, and got stains that had been there for a long time.

Micki and Ava made sure I was comfortable and had Plenty of water while I waited. My cat was hurt badly from a mauling. He had to spend the night because he wouldn't allow anyone but Micki to touch him. They had to sedate him to treat him. The staff made me feel confident that my cat would be cared for properly. Thank you South Novato Animal Hospital for making a bad situation bear!!! I highly recommend them.

The assistant said apologetically that the vet, Dr. Kuchembuck said the dog has chronic ear infections and they're not licensed to provide pain medications. I'm asking the assistant how she can make a diagnosis without even looking at my dog? I asked the assistant if I could get the flea, tick/ heart worm prescription. The assistant left to ask Dr. Kuchembuck, who refused to even write the prescription because Bandit was due for a heart worm test in two months. Again, this vet refused to walk in the exam room to speak to me directly or explain what was happening. Unprofessional to say the least. BTW, it was a very quiet morning. Juneteenth holiday and there was only one person in the waiting room. I just wanted a vet to look into my dogs ears, not perform surgery. She refused to even see my dog.

A few years ago we started seeing Dr. Ortiz and absolutely love her! Because I like to build a relationship with our vet much like my own personal physician, I make routine appointments specifically asking for Dr. Ortiz. Sometimes we get scheduled with her and sometimes not, which I find unacceptable. To secure time with Dr. Ortiz, I waited a month and accepted a time way later in the day than I like for a recent routine appointment. Only once we were in the exam room, I was told that we would be seen by a different vet. I get that things come up and appointments change, but I see a pattern with this that I don't appreciate. And while I always voice my concerns, I feel like nobody even cares anymore. I think this clinic's business model no longer meets my needs and I will be looking for a new vet.

While I would have agreed if consulted, treating a pet without an owner's consent -- especially when costs and potential side effects are involved -- is poor practice and something I've never experienced before. Especially considering it was not an emergency. When I politely requested that she ask me first in the future, her response was unexpectedly rude and dismissive. Had she shown empathy or offered an apology, I would have felt much differently. To make matters worse, I noticed charges on my bill for items (ie a skin supplement) that were never even discussed during the visit. Overall I left feeling very disturbed so unfortunately, I'll be looking for another vet.

My 19-year-old pup,…read moreJulia, has seen many vets throughout her life, and today's visit was one of the best experiences we've ever had. We were warmly greeted by Beverly, who was not only friendly and helpful but also incredibly patient while trimming Julia's nails (no easy task since she's a wiggler!). She handled her with such care and gentleness. Dr. Nagra is truly a gem. From the moment he walked in, he was genuine, kind, and attentive. He took the time to really get to know Julia's condition, asked thoughtful questions, and gave her one of the most thorough exams she's ever had. Unlike other vets we've seen who sometimes rush through, he carefully checked her eyes, ears, and overall health, explaining everything clearly along the way. He answered all of our many questions with patience, empathy, and deep knowledge. Most importantly, he made us feel that Julia's well-being was his top priority. Taylor at the front desk was also wonderful--friendly and efficient in helping us check out smoothly. Overall, I would highly, highly recommend this practice. Even if you're traveling from out of town (like we were), it is absolutely worth it to know your furry loved one is in such good hands. We've already scheduled a follow-up and are happy to have found Julia's new primary vet. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Thank you to Dr. Nagra and the entire team for your outstanding care!

And, they've also been wonderful to us. Everyone that we have interacted with seems so good at what they do, and they are so gentle and sweet with Twinkle. I feel like at other veterinary practices that I've been to over the decades of pet ownership, it's the vet that's great but the staff is rude, or the techs are nice but the vet has no bedside manner, or some other unfortunate scenario. But, here, it really is just a breath of fresh air with the level of skill, the professionalism, and the pleasant ambiance. We completely trust them with Twinkle's care, and highly recommend them to any pet owner.

I've had two separate negative experiences at this practice, and I feel compelled to share them…read more The most recent involved a bill of over $400. I had specifically requested the most comprehensive urinalysis available, because I had explained detailed concerns about my dog's health. What I received was a basic analysis -- and my dog didn't even have a UTI. The bill also included two small bags of supplements. When I asked for the test to be repeated correctly, or for a partial refund of $237 for the analysis I didn't receive, my request was ignored. I'd strongly recommend checking the details of any test results you receive here -- and comparing prices online before accepting any service or product. My second concern is far more serious. For over a year, my dog was limping. During multiple visits, the vets here observed her walking in and still only prescribed pain pills and anti-inflammatory medication -- never investigating further. No one identified the damaged cruciate ligament she had been walking on, in pain, for all that time. When I finally met the owner to explain the situation, she kept her back to me the entire time, never once looked at my dog, and sent us home with more pills. After years of unnecessary suffering and thousands of dollars wasted, I took my dog to UC Davis Veterinary. When I described her symptoms over the phone, they immediately suspected the cause, scheduled the right diagnostics, and confirmed the problem. My dog underwent a delicate surgery that, thankfully, went well -- despite the condition having been ignored for so long. Products here are also priced two to three times above what you'd find online. You are paying top dollar for a very high level of care that, in my experience, you are not receiving.

This facility is very clean and nicely laid out with large waiting area. The staff are friendly and empathetic even though their jobs are very difficult and demanding. One thing that can be done better is prioritizing tests (not treatments). My dog had bloody diarrhea, they had to partially sedate her twice, once for xray and once for ultrasound. Both could have happened together if planning was better. Again just the test and not consultation. Hope nobody ever has to go to ER (for people or animals) but the staff here do handle things good and make it less painful.

They recommended an internist and we decided on PESCM The PESCM internist recommended telmisartan which we knew was common but could have dangerous downsides. We questioned the dosage on the prescription but internist was confident the prescription slightly below his weight is normal. The PESCM internist said he had mild to moderate kidney disease After five days, we rushed our fur baby to PESCM because the telmisartan caused him to be dizzy and he was stumbling and having a hard time with balance. The doctor at PESCM said his blood pressure was really low at 70. Our fur baby stayed at PESCM two and half days and we called every few hours for updates. They gave him lots of fluids via IV his blood pressure went as high as 178. High blood pressure was something new because he had a 120 BP a few weeks prior. During discharge, we noticed there was poop on his butt as his butt area was dirty. We can't imagine how it got so dirty unless he was left unattended and pooped in the kennel and compounded it by scooting an irritated butt on the hospital's outdoor dirty astroturf. As of today, he continues to scoot his butt and we suspect there is an infection we will address. Being skeptical of the care PESCM provided, a few hours after being discharged we went to our primary vet and his blood pressure was an alarming 210. San Francisco was closer and we rushed to San Francisco Animal Medical Center. They ran an ultrasound that determined our fur baby has fluid in his chest and abdomen. Two months prior, an ultrasound did not show this. This was a brand new development. Did it occur when PESCM had our fur baby with IV fluids for over 24 hours? We're not sure. In addition ,his kidney structure is severely damaged.. The San Francisco Animal Medical Center doctor's prognosis was that we can hope that he has weeks or months to live. We understand PESCM prescribed the minimum amount of telmisartan but that and the trauma during ER at PESCM has contributed to taking away time with our loved one and is speeding up his death. We shared this update with PESCM and they said they were sorry and glad we did a recheck at San Francisco Animal Medical Center. I'd definitely recommend San Francisco Medical Animal Center for your fur babies emergency needs.
