these little cuties are up for adoption

i have been going to Cat Clinic for years and have always had quality care at a fair price. Dr. Innes is a cat whisperer that is amazing and cares dearly for any cat that walks ...err, unwillingly hauled.. through the door. I considered switching to another cat clinic because Mill Valley is a tid bit far from where I moved, but after a recent scare, Cat Clinic was able to help me see my cat in a pinch and I am firmly willing to suck up the extra distance. Why? I was worried that my cat was refusing food, and literally no clinic in the Bay Area was able to see him on the same day. Not only was Dr. Innes able to fit him into his schedule, but he did not insist on 50 cat (or CAT) scans or bloodwork tests that would assuredly cost an arm and a leg. He simply felt around my cat's abdomen and neck to check for pain before determining that he probably just needed an anti-nausea shot to get my cat feeling fine about eating kibble again. Sure enough, my cat was right as rain in no time. Love Dr. Innes and will come back in the future for sure.

My cat can be a bit hard with vets because she gets nervous, but Dr. Dave handles her with confidence and extreme care. You can tell he really cares about the animals he works with. The front desk employees are very nice and costs are reasonable. It's first come first serve, which is actually very helpful so you don't have to wait days for appointments. My cat has had two anal gland surgeries there and is healing great. As long as I live in the area, I will always be coming here!

I ended up having it done in South Lake Tahoe. It cost $4,000. Marin county has become ridiculous with Care for animals. I think a lot of it has to do with pet insurance. A Vet recently told me that if you dog needs surgery just go about a hundred miles away from the Bay area. You can probably pay for a hotel and have a vacation in a place like Carson City or South Lake Tahoe and still have money left over after paying for your dogs surgery..

I lost my first dog on the operating table when I was much younger. Back then, I was young ,trusting, and I believed that any licensed vet could do the job. That experience was deeply traumatic. for Gabby, I looked into almost every clinic that performs this kind of surgery in the bay area--read every review on Google and Yelp, sometimes multiple times. It came down to three options. The first one was close to where I live. We went to check it out. It felt more like an emergency room--very professional, but also very clinical. The doctors reviewed Gabby's case like it was a project. Not necessarily bad, just not very personal, at all. The second one was more budget-friendly, but had mixed reviews. The doctor said there'd be no pre-check or consultation--just bring Gabby in on the day of surgery. That didn't sit right with me. Then there was Dr. Sam's clinic. It's not the closest, and while not the cheapest, the price seemed reasonable--and now I could see why. When we went in for the first visit, Dr. Sam sat across from me. Gabby was lying next to me at first, then got up, walked over to him, and laid down by his side. I almost cried--it felt like Gabby made the choice for us. The consultation was very thorough. They even followed up on an old heart murmur diagnosis just to be safe. We tested her pee twice because fitst time the sample was small (i didn't manage to get much of her pee). Everything was explained clearly. The clinic was clean, everyone was kind, and organized, and the energy there just felt good. It felt like they really care. After surgery, I had questions, and they responded quickly every time. Today, we went in for the two-week checkup, and Gabby is doing great. They've been so cautious, so caring, and clearly experienced. I honestly feel lucky that Dr. Sam was the one to operate on Gabby. I'd recommend him and his team to anyone. He's an angel--and so is everyone who works there. Thank you!

We found the experience to be wonderful- it was easy to book an appointment through the app, easy to have questions answered, and the visit at the vet was great. The nurse and techs who helped us were so kind, skilled, and sweet to our dog. And Dr. Sindell was great- she is thoughtful, smart, and also was so gentle and loving to our dog! I also was thinking of buying her flea/tick/heart work meds online, but found that the price they charged was exactly the same price as the lowest that I had found online! So we got her meds there. Overall- a great experience, clean clinic, the app makes it all easy to navigate, and Dr. Sindell is wonderful!

I have been brushing his fur every few days since that appointment. I've found maybe 3 fleas. No fleas. No eggs. We were told SEVERE infestation. I'm truly convinced they planted fleas to convince us to buy pricey flea meds.

Some of the issues we experienced at Redwood ... The staff is awful, as in they all roll their eyes at her when she has her back to them, and when they are in the room with her, she's training them as they go. She hires people that are totally unskilled as vet techs, and she probably pays them poorly. They all look miserable. Her office is also dark and like a weird version of "Get Out", vet edition. Our pup had a UTI, and Genevieve had us worried that something was seriously wrong with our pup, and she pushed $800 of tests on us. Then, she didn't bother to tell us that she was taking off on vacation for over a week, so we sat in misery waiting for her to get back and tell us the results, because no one else in her office could do that. Basically, we helped fund her stupid vaca, because there was nothing wrong with our dog. She then told me that our pup has a thyroid issue (despite her thyroid level being normal on the tests!!) and prescribed meds for her- she totally misdiagnosed her and was going to put her on meds for no reason. I did not get the meds, as I knew she was totally erroneous in her diagnosis. Finally, when I emailed her about my concerns and shared that we felt frustrated by her lack of care....about her freaking us out needlessly...running a bunch of unneeded tests, and subjecting our poor dog to unnecessary pokes and jabs, and about her not letting us know that we wouldn't have the test results as she was taking off on vaca (leaving us hanging for over a week)....she merely responded " do what you gotta do". As in, she could not care less if we left her practice. I'm not mincing my words here...she is total trash, and completely negligent and unethical. I think you really have to be a terrible person to run your business like this, and to treat pets and people this way. Absolutely avoid her and this place. **NOTE most of her 5 star reviews are fake profiles (with one review only). This is an indicator of false profiles to help boost her ratings. About our pup and her UTI, we found (via NextDoor) a wonderful vet practice in Fairfax, and we have been taking her there ever since. We learned that our sweet girl just needed the right antibiotic to clear up that UTI, that was all!

Dear fellow pet parents,…read more I never write negative reviews but this was a truly horrific experience: we brought our dog, Ziggy, to this clinic back in 2023. She had successfully had other mass cell tumors removed in the past here, and we trusted the vet when he recommended another surgery for a new tumor. We believed it was the right decision, as she'd done well before. However, after this surgery, complications arose that she'd never had previously. She developed a sertoma--fluid buildup at the surgery site--which the vet dismissed as normal and didn't take seriously. When we finally saw a veterinary oncologist for a second opinion, we learned that this complication likely caused the cancer to spread throughout her body. In other words, had the post-op care or the procedure been handled differently, Ziggy could still be with us. We're sharing this to help other pet owners be cautious. Throughout this ordeal, the clinic's staff was often rude and unempathetic, which made an already painful situation even harder. We've waited to write this because life got busy, but we felt we needed to share so others can ensure their pets receive the care and compassion they truly deserve. If you love your pet, I would not recommend this vet or Dr. Dowell.
