Extremely Disappointed -- 125-Point Inspection Is Misleading. I purchased a vehicle from CarMax…read morebased on their advertised 125-point inspection, and I am extremely disappointed. Less than two months after purchase, I took the car to Midas for a routine oil change and was told the vehicle had worn rear brakes, a potential oil leak, a cracked driveshaft, low fluids, and filthy cabin and engine filters. These issues clearly existed before I bought the car. When I returned to CarMax, they initially suggested it might be my fault, despite the short ownership period. Photos from Midas proved otherwise. CarMax did provide a loaner, which I appreciate, but their service department has had my car for over 24 hours without even running diagnostics. They have called to ask about the loaner and to say they are have not gotten to my car yet and cannot give a timeline for when my car will be checked or repaired because they are busy. This is especially frustrating during the holiday travel season, when I would much rather have my own vehicle. Overall, I am very disappointed with both the sales process and the service department. I would strongly recommend getting an independent inspection before purchasing from CarMax, regardless of their inspection claims.

I put a hold on a vehicle yesterday. called today to complete the transfer…read more I completed the transfer, I spent $250and was called later by CarMax to say the vehicle was "being test driven". I told the sales rep that I had a hold on the vehicle and I asked when my hold expired. He could not give me a straight answer. But he did say that it somehow magically expired the moment the test driver got to the lot. He couldn't tell me if it expired in 24 hours, 36 hours a week or anything. Then I called again and tried to speak with another rep or a manager. The sales rep that I spoke to, could not give me definitive, quantifiable information. Her answers to my question kept changing. At first she told me that the hold expires after 5 to 7 business days and after I explain to her my situation and that I just placed the hold yesterday, less than 24 hours, she then explained that the length of the hold magically changed to less than 24 hours. With me having a verified hold on the vehicle, they sold it out from under me. First time I've ever attempted to use car max, and it absolutely will never, ever, ever happen again. I would not use them if I were you. They clearly do not honor, know or follow their own processes. I'm not sure if they offer any kind of warranty or any follow up service after the purchase, but I can guarantee you, they have difficulty holding up their end of the deal. If you can't be trusted to do the little things that don't matter, how can you convince anyone that you can do the things that really do matter?

Dealer agreed to allow a 3rd party inspector come see car at our cost before purchase which is a comfort and A+ attitude. Dealer does appear to be more one price versus negotiable which is ok, but clearly share and advertise this. Car is used and easily tracked on Carfax and clearly sat at another dealer for months unsold, may have been auctioned, and then wholesaled to here. It's not a HIGH value unit when mileage is low as it's only factor. Our offer was fair, and ok as not accepted by dealer. Hope they get the $$ versus long hold period. Overall a good experience but did not result in car purchase here.

The owner David Rinker & General manager Tim Peck are SCAMMERS & FRAUDS. They refuse to stand by their vehicles. They refuse to abide by their promises prior to purchase. They advertise & promise: "Quality Luxury Cars-- High Quality Inventory--  Meticulously Maintained vehicles that are inspected thoroughly by their Master Technicians to ensure quality prior to placing them for sale." I purchased a vehicle from them 6 months ago. Within the first 2 weeks of ownership, 4 major issues were found on the car. I'm still trying to compell them to take financial responsibility for THEIR product. 3 leaks were discovered & hidden wrecked major damage to the front bumper cover was discovered. I had the hidden wrecked damages repaired for $2,600. The general mgr has refused to reimburse me for the repairs. I recently found out that the 3 leaks are much worse than I thought. On January 7, 2026, I hired a mechanic that specializes in German vehicles to begin work on one of the leaking areas, the oil filter housing & oil cooler gaskets, these repairs are a major undertaking. When he began removing parts, the amount of oil leakage that was found was extensive. Oil leaked everywhere. It's obvious that those gaskets have been leaking for a long time. He also removed the large plastic engine guard that bolts to the underneath of the engine bay. It was saturated wilth huge areas of oil and oil sludge. He then noticed that the engine oil pan drain hole looked as though the drain plug was screwed in with bubble gum. He removed all the gunk and drain plug to discover that the threads of the oil pan drain hole are stripped. The threads can't be repaired. I need a new oil pan. Everything is documented with photos of evidence. I'm in the process to begin suing Autohaus of Naples for $8,000 thru Florida courts. On January 24, 2026, I received a message from a woman that read my many online reviews of Autohaus of Naples. She shared with me that she recently purchased a Mercedes from Autohaus of Naples. While she was driving on the highway, the entire metal roof flew off. She sent me a photo. It's shocking. She mentioned that the general manager, Tim Peck, has refused to compensate her for the major damage & safety issue. Her vehicle is currently not drivable. She shared screen shots of her communications between she and her salesperson and Tim Peck. Tim was as completely unprofessional just as he was with me & refuses to take responsibility for his products just as with me. Some of the online review platforms allow posting photos but some do not. If you have anything to ask me or share with me about Autohaus of Naples, find my Facebook review on their page. You can then message me thru Facebook. STAY AWAY FROM AUTOHAUS OF NAPLES! They are NOT a quality preowned vehicle dealership. Of importance, I have only been able to drive the vehicle about 200 miles during the 6 months of ownership. The vehicle still has less than 60,000 miles & is a 2011. As a result of my complaint against Autohaus of Naples to the Florida BBB on 9/18/2025, Autohaus of Naples now has a lower rating. It has dropped to B- because they ignored the 3 attempts by the BBB to resolve my complaint. Autohaus of Naples is no longer accredited.

What a well run organization, I must admit. Having owned an independent shop like this many years…read moreago I pay attention to things done right, and this ranks up there. The facility is well laid out and inviting. Check. Staff knowledgeable. Check. Loaner cars available when booked in advance. Check. Like every repair shop you'll ever work with you drop off for something specific and their job is to find work; more work means revenue. We all get that, but a difference here. They'll tell you what they found/saw and suggest that at some point in the not-too-distant future you'll want to remind them to look again. A soft-sell that works!! Kudos. Took care of two of our cars and definitely going back.

I am writing to formally express my frustration and disappointment regarding the ongoing issues…read morewith my vehicle and the way my case has been handled by both your service department and the insurance claim process. I initially brought my vehicle to your service center due to a "Restricted Performance" warning light and noticeable shaking while driving. Despite having the car for over a week, the only test driving conducted was reportedly "around the block," and I was told the issue could not be replicated. Nevertheless, I was presented with a list of $6,600 in unrelated repairs, for which I paid $2,400 out of pocket after my insurance covered a portion. Shortly after retrieving the car, the same warning light came back on immediately, and the shaking persisted -- clearly indicating that the original issue had not been addressed at all. When I returned the vehicle, I was told the matter would be resolved, but instead, a second insurance claim was filed, and I was forced to pay an additional $200 deductible, even though the issue was the exact same one that prompted the original service visit. This appears to be a clear mishandling of the diagnostic process and possibly an abuse of the insurance claim system. This situation is unacceptable. At minimum, I am requesting the following: 1. A refund of the $200 deductible paid for the second claim, as the issue was never resolved from the first. 2. A thorough explanation of why the original problem was not properly addressed or diagnosed, despite the time the vehicle was in your possession. 3. Assurance that the vehicle will be repaired correctly without any further out-of-pocket expense on my part. 4. If not resolved satisfactorily, I will be filing a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (which handles auto repair disputes) and the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation for a possible insurance claim abuse investigation. I expect a timely and professional resolution. Please respond within 10 business days to avoid further escalation. This situation raises a few red flags: * Poor diagnostic procedure -- A quick drive around the block isn't enough for intermittent or performance-related issues, especially with modern vehicles. * Potential insurance mishandling -- Filing a second claim and requiring another deductible for the same issue sounds questionable, especially if it's a continuation of the first claim. * Lack of accountability -- They didn't take responsibility for failing to address the core issue in the first place.
