I purchased some Jowey Winnie and Sylvia tubers this spring and I was so happy when the blooms came…read morein. The Sylvia had dozens of blooms with variations of orange sherbet growing as tall as me. Super prolific with tall single stems, perfect for vases. The Jowey Winnies were my favorite grown this year. The blooms were purple to pink to yellow from the edge of the petal to the center. These produced blooms that changed color shades as the season changed. Pastels in early summer to candy colors through October. The amount of tubers I got from these will let me plant a full perimeter of dahlias next year. I can't wait. We ended up taking a few sips and then dumping them out. I got a poppyseed muffin as well which was good, I do believe that was outsourced. The ambiance of the place left a lot to be desired- it is located in the iconic old town St- Helens in an old bank. Inside it was pretty cluttered and lined with plants and other items from local businesses for sale. I don't plan on coming back here, it was not to my taste, not worth my money, and was lacking in that cozy coffee shop vibe. It seems popular with many other folks around- just not for me.
