I purchased some Jowey Winnie and Sylvia tubers this spring and I was so happy when the blooms came…read morein. The Sylvia had dozens of blooms with variations of orange sherbet growing as tall as me. Super prolific with tall single stems, perfect for vases. The Jowey Winnies were my favorite grown this year. The blooms were purple to pink to yellow from the edge of the petal to the center. These produced blooms that changed color shades as the season changed. Pastels in early summer to candy colors through October. The amount of tubers I got from these will let me plant a full perimeter of dahlias next year. I can't wait. I called Jansen and spoke with a very helpful lady and ordered a large bouquet of long stem red roses with baby's breath (maybe?). The flowers were in our room when we arrived. They were (and still are 3 days later) spectacular. They came in a very nice glass vase and were perfect. My wife said they were the nicest she's seen in many years. (We live in Seattle now.) She was delighted to hear that they came from Jansen. Apparently, Jansen provided flowers for our wedding all those years ago. We ended up taking a few sips and then dumping them out. I got a poppyseed muffin as well which was good, I do believe that was outsourced. The ambiance of the place left a lot to be desired- it is located in the iconic old town St- Helens in an old bank. Inside it was pretty cluttered and lined with plants and other items from local businesses for sale. I don't plan on coming back here, it was not to my taste, not worth my money, and was lacking in that cozy coffee shop vibe. It seems popular with many other folks around- just not for me.

Other plants I have gotten there are vine maples and flowering currants. Keep in mind they are a wholesale nursery so that although they are fine with selling retail, the place is not set up like a store, so you should know what you want before going there, and if it's off season, call them first. Check their plant list and if there's something you want to get, call them and see whether they have some. Their plants are excellent and even at retail their prices are excellent also.
