Very sexy... very unique experience. We got there late so the kitchen wasn't doing too much at that time we got truffle fries. The fries were right out the oil and delish. I had a drink that had grasshopper simple syrup in it, it was good. The place is gorgeous the crowd was calm not packed. It had a really good vibe everyone was chill. Bartenders were friendly. Very dimly lit would be a Sexy date night. read more

Drinks are strong & their HH is great being half off drinks. They ran out of oysters sadly, so we couldn't experience them, but the food is pretty good too. Loads of people come here and it's pretty busy, so if you have more than 2, get a reservation, or you can find a spot at the bar. Would come back for a pre or post dinner cocktail! read more

First off, the ambience and decor are stunning. This is a great place to celebrate an occasion such as a birthday or girls night. I came on a Saturday night and the place was very lively. There was a DJ playing pretty loud music so if you intend to carry on a conversation then this probably isn't the right place lol. That being said, the DJ played a variety of music and I really enjoyed it. I sat at the bar and Sebastian took care of me. The drink menu is extensive and I had a hard time making a decision. That's when Sebastian stepped in and took over for me and selected drinks for me. He didn't miss and I enjoyed everything he chose for me. Thanks Sebastian!!! I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the city. I highly recommend this cocktail bar. read more

Came here for my best friend's birthday and it was cool. It's definitely more cocktails than food, but I think that's the goal. It's a cute spot. If you're looking for the "girl's night" aesthetic or a cutesy play to go for an after dinner drink, then this is fine. There was a filet special on the night we went and it was solid. The sauce poured on top was a bit vinegary to me, but I wasn't expecting to eat the best steak I've ever had here. Again, solid. I did like my drink, and it stops at like because at $24, it needs to be damn special to love it lol I did appreciate the service on such a busy evening. The hostess were extremely accommodating and welcoming. We were running a bit late and they ensured we had somewhere to sit. I'd go again if someone was treating me lol read more

Incredible decor and aesthetic themed elements just like their sister concept two blocks away Machine. I wasn't overly impressed by their cocktail menu at this location. But their food menu is definitely more elaborate and extensive than Machine. I got their short rib which was phenomenal and my friend got a smash burger that was really good as well. The bar staff were very friendly. The bar is very long and this definitely was a popping place the later it got when I went on a Friday night. read more

Expeditiously becoming obsessed with Happy Hour at Dearly Beloved. It's in my top 3 of immediate recommendations when someone is looking for GREAT cocktails and a chill vibe. George and I are seeing each other far more frequently than my checking account would prefer, he's fantastic, but I'm HOOKED on the shadow laurels and the love in the night cocktails. I did try the spire and gargoyle this time and I really enjoyed the light spice and beautiful rose ice. Plussssss the lamb arancini and fried chicken are STELLAR. You already know I'll probably be back next week. read more

If you're looking for a romantic and laid-back bar, Dearly Beloved is a great choice. The moment you walk in, the eye-catching interior design sets the ton - stylish and inviting. The space is roomy, offering bar seating, tables, and cozy lounge areas. If you're aiming for lounge seating, I'd recommend making a reservation in advance. The atmosphere was intimate, perfect for a relaxed night out. Our server was upbeat and friendly. We tried the Dearly Daiquiri and The Spire and the Gargoyle (even comes with a rose-shaped ice cube). Both cocktails were strong, creative, and refreshing! read more

This review is for the old fashioned bartender event. This was such a nice surprise! We came here with a group of 8 friends. Tickets were $25 for 8 old fashioned tastings and 2 full cocktails. The space is cozy and the ambience is chic. We had so much fun walking around and tasting the old fashioned concoctions. Although our fave did not win the competition, it was an enjoyable and memorable night. Thanks Dearly Beloved! read more

What a STUNNING stunning place?!! Dearly Beloved is an elevated and sophisticated cocktail restaurant perfect for date night, girls night out or an even business meeting. A statement from the decor, to the service to the drinks! To start, the service was impeccable! Our server Rashad was a friendly face with great knowledge of the menu and drink flavor profile. They had awesome recommendations and really got to know our taste preferences to guide us through the menu. Deadly Beloved's menu is nothing like you've ever seen. Be prepared to expand your palate. From experiential mixes, playful mix of flavor profiles, and overall ingredients I've never heard of lol, each drink was distinct and unique which I loved!! We tried the "Dice, Brass, Knuckles and Guitar" "Last Kiss" "Off Shore Pirate" and "At Your Age" all very different and all very tasty! I cannot wait wait wait to get back! read more

Having been here shortly after they opened earlier this year, I was eager to return! The interior of Dearly Beloved warms my cold black gothic heart! It's as though they built a bar inside of an art installation, and I LOVE that. This visit, I came for their happy hour prior to attending their Curated Classics cocktail workshop. Happy Hour (4-6 Wed-Fri) is the WAY to dip your toes into the Dearly Beloved cocktail program with 1/2 price signature drinks. The menu is pricey, but each cocktail is so unique, you will want to try more than one. I enjoyed the Shadow Laurels (refreshing and approachable!) as well as the Dice, Brassknuckles, & Guitar (an inspired, moody riff on a Manhattan). I also went all-in on the Beloved Burger, which is elevated with bone marrow aioli and short rib marmalade! Absolutely delicious! To close out the experience, I splurged on the Blackout Cake, which is perfect for chocolate lovers who enjoy depth and texture. My server was professional and warm, and made sure to get me all squared away in time for my 7 pm class. The cocktail course with Lexi was a blast; we made a delightful cranberry mojito and a lime-coconut gimlet. Learned a few neat techniques and got a bunch of fun ideas for my in-home mixological projects. read more

**Happy Hour Review** If you're going to check this place out, DEFINITELY check em out for their signature cocktails and vibes during happy hour. IMO the signature cocktails at full price are too costly ($20+) and small. These drinks are offered at 50% off Wed-Friday from 4pm-6pm. In total I tried 4 drinks: Beautiful & Damned, Hot & Cold Blood, Last Kiss and At Your Age. The drinks I would order next time: Last Kiss and possibly the Beautiful & Damned. The Last Kiss is a full mind blowing experience - how it is presented, explained and how it tastes and smells is game changer. 1 of the best and FULLY executed experiences I've had while drinking. I would pass on the At Your Age - for me it taste like artificial orange juice annnnnd that's it. The naan is a cool bonus but overall the drink itself I would pass. The food was a miss for me, however, I'm glad they do offer food. I tried the lamb gyro arancini ($15) and the juicy burger ($21). Flavors were pretty good but dannnnng the amount of salt on everything took over and it was very unfortunate. I also think the portions of both items are too small for what they are priced at. Food service was on the slower side as well. My husband and I weren't asked at what temperate we wanted our burger, however, it did come out medium well, which was fine. The ambiance of this place doe? LOVEEEEE! The decor is angel meets devil at its finest. It's spooky, fun and beautiful. They have couches, standard seating, high tops, a bar area and a somewhat 2nd level with tables on there too. I really like how this place was designed. Very photo op friendly. The service was great - I don't remember any of the staff members names but they all did an exceptional job. Items were explained and presented well every time it was brought over. This is a great touch for really bringing together the full experience of Dearly Beloved. read more

Dearly beloved. Very mixed review here. Mainly because I left without getting to experience the food. The restaurant is stunning with amazing energy - lovely. The bar is loud - not great for conversing. But as a lone diner I don't mind that. Booked a standard table dining room reservation for one person - yet they would only seat me at a high top in the bar (very uncomfortable chairs) or at the bar itself - which is not the option I selected when making my reservation - why offer a standard table reservation availability when you don't have seating? Or was it because I was a lone diner? Hope not! Because I saw several open tables that could seat 2 people. Genesis (I think was her name) was a lovely server - taking the time to know a bit about you when she arrived - but she was slow to greet. For not being packed, the staff was slow. The reason I left actually. It was fairly busy but the restaurant was not full and had several open tables. Took several minutes to even be greeted (not sure if that's because she hadn't yet been assigned to my table, or because she was making rounds at her other tables - but the wait was just long enough to ask yourself why someone hadn't come over yet). Between my cocktail and when she actually came to take my order, was 22 minutes. My reservation was at 7. I arrived a few minutes late. In over 45 minutes... I was greeted and given a cocktail. If that's your standard, then not one I want to be part of even on a leisure night out like this evening. When I asked for the check she felt bad - I could tell that for sure. Asking if there was something she could do to make it right - an open-ended question wasn't the right one for someone who only had a cocktail. Is it a management issue of putting one server on too many tables or is it a slow server issue that needs a bit more training on how to be more attentive to tables. But something needed to shift in what appeared a bit of chaos. I would have loved to try the caviar cigar, tartare, mussels, and Caesar... it was all ready to order... just no one helped. read more

Wow, this place is fantastic! The vibe inside is dark, moody, a little futuristic, and floral. I loved the impressive decor. Dearly Beloved is a "cocktail restaurant" with very unique and interesting drinks, but don't sleep on the food. I tried two cocktails: Love in the Night and Last Kiss. They were both delicious but Love in the Night was my favorite - the coconut horchata chai foam was so tasty and I loved the creaminess of this drink. The Last Kiss had a nice presentation with smoked palo santo. I tried several items from their kitchen, including the potato and caviar cigar, which was a perfectly crispy potato filled with creme fraiche and topped with caviar - so delicious! I also got the maitake karaage and the French onion ramen. The karaage was a nice portion, easily shareable between two people for a starter. I loved the yuzu caramel which gave it a bit of sweetness but also some acidity. For me the star was the French onion ramen with rich, savory broth, tender and delicious braised short rib, and a blanket of melted cheese. SO good. The chef told me that this was his homage to the former restaurant in this spot, a French bistro that as beloved in the neighborhood. I thought that was so cool, and the dish was delicious. I'd definitely order this again. I even had leftovers the next day and they were just as tasty! For dessert I tried the mango sticky rice, which was presented a bit like a cheesecake, with the rice in a graham crust. I really loved the flavors of the dessert and it was a lighter way to end the meal. The blackberry granita was the perfect addition to the mango and rice. I loved my visit to Dearly Beloved, I wish I lived closer! A great spot for a special occasion. read more

Loved the vibe here -- moody, creative, and intimate. Perfect for a close friends night or a low-key date. The cocktails are the star -- inventive, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. Service was thoughtful and attentive, with great recommendations throughout. Favorites of the night (in order of preference): 1. SHADOW LAURELS Fruity, floral, and so smooth -- the ube pineapple air on top was amazing, and the drink itself didn't even taste like alcohol (in the best way). Light, complex, and easy to sip. 2. SEND RAIN CLOUDS Fresh, herbal, and savory with a kick from ginger and green onion. The basil and ginger crystals on top were such a fun texture surprise. 3. TWO WRONGS Earthy and bold. This one has chapuline syrup and tinctures from three bugs -- not my order, but I had a taste and the flavor was amazing. Very spirit-forward and super unique. We tried a few others, but these were the standouts. Overall, such a cool spot -- I'll definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu. read more

Stopped by with a group of friends after our dinner. It's located in a fairly quiet part of the surrounding river north area - there is plenty of paid street parking. This place is dark and dreamy and features a variety of seating options - seats accommodate those who are eating a full dinner, sharing appetizers or just lounging with drinks. It's a very interesting set up and the volume here is not too loud considering how many people are in the space. I believe Dearly Beloved is from the same group that runs Machine Engineered Dining and Drink in Wicker, so their approach to their drinks are really interesting. I'd say it's like entering a lab and getting something you've never had before! There are a lot of pros and cons to this experimental vibe though - you'll either get a really good drink or you'll get something 'experimental'. There were 7 of us in the group and we were seating at the back at what looked and felt like a conference room table surrounded by reflective black walls. I think they need to add couches and accent chairs here because the set up made it feel like we were going to have a conference meeting. But if you're having dinner, it would also feel like you're eating in someone's house. Very murder-mystery-esqe vibes if you ask me. There is food available but we came for drinks. We had to QR code the menu - This is the one time I actually wished that they had a hardcopy of their menu. I think they need to actually have visuals of their drinks because every drink is so unique and I feel like the average person would not understand the language used. The Love in the Night was very pretty and tasty! The Shadow Laurels tasted like watered-down juice. The Espresso Martini might actually be my favorite Espresso Martini in the city. Their spin on it represents exactly what I initially imagined an Espresso Martini to be! Please, please try it if you are a latte lover!!! The Last Kiss was sooo interesting and was recommended by our server. It was definitely a show and the palo santo smoke was nice but the flavors of the drink didn't vibe together - it also looked like sewage water. We all had a sip and agreed it was not good at all. Our server actually took this drink off our tab and the manager came to check in on us so that was actually really kind and left a good impression on us. I got the soda pop which is a zero-proof cocktail. This was very delicious and is up the alley of a 'dirty soda'! Loved it and would get it again!!! Overall, I'd come back again with a group if we're looking for interesting drinks and a great ambiance. I also would want to try the food! read more

We came here for a girls night and it was great. We had to make reservations ahead of time and when we got there we were seated right away. The ambiance was great and when you go around the corner the bar had amazing views and ambiance. We had a couple of drinks but I got the gargoyle one which was a little spicy and different. The shadow laurels was pretty good, nice and sweet with a tart flavor. Was sad they didn't have the drink that looked like a dessert. But everything was amazing. The fries was super crispy and delicious perfect for sharing with the table. Our waitress was really good at recommending a couple of drinks. The drinks were good but the food was better! They have recently changed the menu so there are different drinks and food to try even if you're a regular. I ordered the charred octopus and it was amazing! A bit oily, but the octopus was perfectly cooked, not chewy but nicely tender. The flavors mixed together and the lime aoli added a surprise of flavor when you got it in a bite. It is not an easy dish for sharing so I would recommend it more as a meal for one, but it is a good portion for one and easily eaten in one sitting without feeling overly full. The service was incredibly nice. Water was brought out almost immediately upon arriving without us having to ask for it. We went during the rush so the service was a bit slow but as long as you're patient, it's well worth the wait. Despite the waiters being swamped with people, they were always very kind and didn't show their stress. The place itself is decorated masterfully. Many different vibes and sections depending on what you're looking for. Many great areas to take cute pictures so make you dress up and look good to snap those photos! read more

My five friends plus my husband and myself booked their NYE party which they advertised that it was a "Gala." Nothing about the event said it was anything other then a typical Saturday night. We paid $175 just to have a table for which it took an hour for us to get our second round of drinks of a VIP all inclusive package which was an additional$106 on top of the table. The event was only three hours and by 9:45 (Event started at 9) the only food they had was fry's which were not passed hors d'oeuvres was an open buffet, again falsely advertised. They had a DJ playing dinner music all night which you would not find at a gala event, you would find dancing music. We were so disappointed on what they advertise and what they offer is this was nothing but a typical night Grab a drink, but yet they charged us 300 and plus dollars for that with nothing close to a Gala event. read more

A whole vibe! Beautiful space with several different seating options. The decor and lighting is amazing. We went Sunday night at a time when the crowd was pretty thin. We were able to pick where we wanted to sit. For drinks I have the smoked fennel margarita, the At your age cocktail and the love in the night drink for dessert. For dinner we split the carrot mochi which was so delicious. Savory Carrot Pillows in a Coconut-Red Curry Sauce with layers of carrots prepared differently. The Okonomiyaki which had this crispy delicious cabbage topping on it. Highly recommend. I had the burger for my entree with these amazing, delicious, flavorful homemade chips. Omg. Try the chips!! Both were great. I felt the burger needed a little more flavor but it was juicy and a great sized portion. Service was great. The chef came around to our table.
