So, I had my kitchen done 5 years ago...a full gut. Dean's guys show up and he checks in at the end of the day. At first it was fine, but there were little things that I noticed and spoke up. When they put up my "glass" backsplash, they were leaving some of the tiles cracked. I pointed them out and they had to remove them and replace with uncracked ones. Sure, I'm certain they would leave up cracked tiles in their houses, right? When they laid my kitchen floor....the grout started coming up immediately. I brought it up to one of the workers because Dean was nowhere to be found. He said, we'll take care of it. He replaced one tile. It wasn't the tile! It was the grout. The next day after being on the phone with Dean and giving him a piece of my mind, Dean was here helping them re-do grout. 5 years later, several tiles replaced, and several STILL CRACKING because the problem is that the sub-floor was not put in correctly and not leveled, so therefore, my tiles are loose, cracking and all the grout all over is cracking and lifting. My husband and I are going to replace the entire floor, but unfortunately the tile is under all the cabinetry. You spend hard-earned money to have a beautiful home only to find out as the days go by that the workmanship was shoddy and less than par. When they put the ceiling in with high hats, you can see all the bevels in it. I mentioned that, too, and was told that you can't get it perfect, that you only see it in certain times of day because of the sunlight. Yes, you're right and if I never saw him and his crew again, it would be too soon. I'm thinking of calling him to come and look at this floor, but I don't think he would stand by his work and honestly, would we even want him in our home again? No! read more

Dean is our "go-to" contractor! We have hired him numerous times and have referred him to our family and friends. He did our fabulous deck with built in bar, a complete basement renovation including custom closets, a new fireplace and a new bathroom. He also has done smaller jobs, such as custom moldings around my home. His workers were all polite and did a great job as well. He was able to deal with my silly requests and texts when I had questions or had design ideas. Much like the other reviewer dean worked on our project with Kitchen Kraftsmen but unlike the other reviewer, the scope in which dean and his team was retained was much larger than just a kitchen rehab. Our project was an entire home renovation. If you want a contractor that drops off a crew of less than professional unskilled workers each day and doesn't complete the job correctly then Dean's Home improvement is for you! If you like dealing with a person who you fire to do work and then he actually never does the work himself than Dean is your guy! 2 years later and we just had another contractor complete the flooring that was done incorrectly not once, not twice but we allowed Dean and his dream team five separate attempts to repair before we had to threaten litigation. Let me tell you. If you try to affix the wiring needed to put down tile to the sub floor with roofing staples than the tiles will never sit properly on the floor. The new contractor rolled the floor up like a reverse fruit roll up and video taped it so he could show his friends the wrist tiling job he had ever seen. He's lucky he refunded our money for the floor and didn't force us to sue. Go crazy hiring this company! read more
